I have just had a new boiler installed by Alford Plumbing and heating, and have found them excellent. We have been without gas heating and hot water since before Covid, and sort of got used to it, but soaring fuel prices, especially electricity prompted us to do something about it. So I gave them a ring. Their surveyor came round, he was not really interested our old boiler but told me what was involved, and a few days later I received a printed estimate for all the work in the post. The price seemed reasonable, particularly as there is a 10-year guarantee if you have an annual service. So I went ahead. They came yesterday, and finished this morning. Everything is up and running, all mess has been cleared away, a very neat installation has been made, with brazed connections replacing push on one's, and even the guy collecting the rubbish came when they said he would was cheerful and polite. So, all in all I am delighted. It is very nerve-wracking having strangers in your house working, but these guys make it as good as it can be. Top marks.

The work consisted of replacing an old floor standing boiler with a new wall mounted boiler, complete with the latest controls. Thoroughly flushing and draining the radiators and pipework to the agreed quotation. The work was carried out efficiently and effectively to our satisfaction.
