We are delighted with the extension which was achieved on budget and to a high specification. Nothing was too much trouble, we had many additions as the project progressed and both Allen and Leon were respectful, professional and always left the site tidy. They have a very high work ethic, a good sense of humour and were a delight to have around. Highly recommend.

The work involved gutting our old bathroom and installing a new one. Wow, what a transformation!! From start to finish, Allen was a pleasure to have around. Every little detail was taken into account, asking us where we wanted things put. His workmanship is amazing. His manner is professional. When you find someone that good, there's no need to look elsewhere and definitely worth waiting for. Leon did the finishing touches on the carpentry which was first class. Both exceedingly hard working young men and really know their trade.

Allen and Leon did an outstanding job of re-plastering a large ceiling. They were very professional and friendly and went above and beyond to complete the work to an extremely high standard. The quote was very reasonable and the work was completed to the agreed schedule and budget. Nothing was too much trouble and I very highly recommend them.

Our house required significant external maintenance work and re-painting: the render had cracks in lots of areas; some of it was detached from the brickwork; the construction between the upper and lower bay windows needed renewing; and on several edges, the internal metal frame had rusted, leading to crumbling and brown stains. The paint on the house had also weathered badly and the render was bare in many places. In addition, the garage door and its frame had severe rusting and needed treatment and painting; corroded wooden frames around two patio doors needed stripping, filling and painting; and all the guttering needed cleaning and some leaks repaired. Allen and Leon impressed us with their professionalism, their attitude and with how they would perform the work and we are delighted that we chose to go with them. They did an outstanding job and were incredibly thorough, completing the work to the quote. The exterior of the house was power-washed twice, removing large quantities of old paint. The render was repaired and matched beautifully to the old and given two coats of high-quality paint. The house now looks brand new! Allen and Leon arrived to start the work on the day we had agreed. They also worked tidily and cleaned up the site at the end of each day. They are really nice guys who were a pleasure to work with, always cheerful and considerate, and with a pride in their work. Allen and Leon replaced and re-painted the rendering on the rear of our terraced house. They did the work within the agreed time and price. They were hard-working and efficient, keeping us informed of what they were doing. They worked long hours to ensure they made the most of the weather. They were good company - always pleasant, discreet and polite. After work they cleared up every day and left the place really tidy once the job was finished. We enjoyed having them here and would employ them again without hesitation. We recommend them wholeheartedly. After deciding to replace an old bathroom with swollen floorboards, tiles hanging off, bamboo shoots coming through the floor, leaking pipes and a rotten door frame – I knew it would not be easy. Allen, a friendly young man, recommended to me, took on the project including the preparation work which would obviously be be significant. I received what I thought was a very reasonable quote. All the rendering fell off with the old tiles - the whole room had to be completely re-rendered and plastered, pipes / stop tap repaired, door frame replaced and floor leveled / replaced before he could start. What impressed me was the meticulous approach to ensuring all the preparatory work was completed to the highest standard with Allen never getting phased as each complication appeared. I was again impressed with Allen’s informative and conscientious approach as the installation work continued– Allen was supported in the work by his brother Leon who displayed the same friendly conscientious approach while sorting out all the woodwork issues - nothing was too much trouble. All aspects of the new bathroom was installed to the highest standard – wall units, bath / shower, meticulous tiling both wall and floor, every aspect completed with a very professional finish. I would thoroughly recommend A and L Building Services– They are very keen to ensure any job is completed to the highest standard combined with a determination to ensure the customer is fully satisfied with the end product.

Allen & Leon were excellent in both their work and their attitude, rendering an unusual design on a huge wall in central Bristol fir a mural. They also responded with patience & professionalism when we had to change our initial plans due to planning permission. They communicated well, were friendly, flexible and got the job done to a high standard. We would definitely recommend them & hire their services again.

Having been let down by other builders in the past, it was a refreshing change to have Allen and Leon to do our work. They stuck to the date they promised, were punctual, courteous and very accommodating with some last minute changes that we made. Great care was taken over the work, which was finished to a high standard, and at a reasonable cost. We would have Allen and Leon to work on our property again, and would recommend them to others.

We have had repair works to walls on the house and garage this week. Allen was tidy, courteous and most importantly the work was to a very high standard. We will use A&L Building services in the future!

We commissioned A&L to renovate a bathroom that hadn’t been touched since the 1960s. To make more space, this included knocking down a solid wall and replacing it with a new stud wall further into the next room through which new plumbing configuration would run. There was the remnants of an old ‘en suite’ in the adjacent room to contend with too. From the start, Allen took great interest in the plan and this meant he removed much of the burden of project management. He was full of ideas but listened to exactly what we wanted. As soon as he set to work: the demolition was quick; the new studwork high quality and solid; the re-plumbing was expert and stress tested; the re-plastering precise and comprehensive; the tiling (of small tiles) truly artisan and without any wastage. The final finish and sealing left a clean and neat professional job of which we are very pleased. We found A&L to be methodical, meticulous and proactive to problem solving. Allen worked long hours to get the job done, cleaning and tidying to a high standard each night which was a huge help with a curious toddler in the house. Allen’s interested and cheerful disposition capped a resoundingly positive experience for us and has left us with both a high-quality family bathroom we can enjoy for years and a neatly finished adjoining room for our child to make her own. We plan to use them again for future work. In summary: highly recommended.
