We recently used AM Builders in Rainham, led by Jimmy, for a full renovation of a property my wife inherited last year. The house was in a very dilapidated condition and required significant work throughout. Jimmy and his team completely transformed the property and the end result exceeded our expectations. We were so pleased with the quality of the work that we asked Jimmy to refurbish another property we own in Southend-on-Sea shortly afterwards. Once again, the process was straightforward, I received a quote, handed over the keys, and the work was completed on time and to a very high standard. I had some delays obtaining the necessary permissions from the council regarding skip, but Jimmy stepped in and handled the issue for us, which removed a lot of stress from the project. I would strongly recommend Jimmy and his team. He is honest, trustworthy, and takes real pride in his work. Nothing is rushed and no corners are cut everything is completed to a high specification.

Following our recent bathroom renovation, we couldn’t recommend Jimmy and his team more highly. They brought a wealth of knowledge and experience, taking control of the entire project and simply getting things done. Any problem encountered was discussed and a solution agreed. Jimmy clearly explained what had to be done from the start, why it was necessary, and how it would be handled. Once we gave the go ahead, when the team arrived there was no messing about and within the first day the bathroom was completely stripped. Progress was visible every day, and where they were working was always left clean and tidy. Communication was very clear about who would be arriving on what day (plumber, tiller etc..) and about sourcing exactly the right materials for the job. We’re so happy the result; it’s a complete transformation from what we had before. Everyone who has seen the bathroom cannot believe how lovely it looks. Jimmy and his team had been recommended to me by a neighbour so I can vouch for consistency of work.

Jimmy (owner) managed a team of workers who were polite, punctual and extremely professional. They did a fantastic job on our courtyard garden studio transforming it into a quiet, calm, well insulated space for us. Jimmy was thoughtful and clearly proud of his work and reputation, which is well deserved. He is also a very good communicator. This was a job done on time, to budget and beautiful finished. We will definitely use AM Builders again in the future.

Jimmy was absolutely outstanding, and his crew of workers were equally impressive. My large three-bedroom house was in a terrible state most rooms had damp, the upstairs ceiling was inverted and looked ready to collapse, stair rails were broken, and the double cellar was filled floor to ceiling with rubbish. The property was completely dilapidated and needed a full renovation. Jimmy started in early July and, incredibly, completed everything by the end of the month. He gutted the entire house in a week and carried out a complete transformation: new roof, full electrical rewire, new kitchen and bathroom, fire doors all finished to a high standard. His team worked tirelessly, were highly skilled, respectful, and clearly took pride in their work. Jimmy was professional, listened to what I wanted, and delivered beyond expectations. He was fairly priced and completely committed from start to finish. I highly recommend Jimmy and his brilliant team.

Jimmy and his team were excellent. From initial quotes/discussions, through planning and the job itself there was clear communications and full transparency. Quote was accurate but more so the quality and pace of work was second to none. Despite some unexpected challenges on the job they finished ahead of schedule. We knocked put a wall, redid electrics, installed a new boiler and kitchen. Everything was done to a high standard. The best bit is it was stress free - Jimmy managed everything including all the details. His team is polite, hardworking and committed. Highly recommend Jimmy and his team. Will use them again for next 2 projects.

Following our recent kitchen renovation, we can't recommend Jimmy and his team highly enough. This was, without a doubt, one of the least stressful experiences I have had with tradespeople, with Jimmy and the team full of experience and knowledge. Jimmy took charge of everything and just delivered. Our renovation required an unexpected rewire, which, as soon as identified, Jimmy took us through what was needed, why and how. As soon as the okay was given, the team took that on top of the kitchen fitout without a second thought. Each day saw progress and the kitchen was left in a clean and tidy state at the end of each day, as was the garden where they were working. If Jimmy says he is going to do something, he will do it, whether that is at a time or day the team will be there, or getting the right accessories for the job. We are thrilled with the results, and it is such a transformation of what we originally had. Everyone who has so far seen the end results has been impressed, and we have recommended his services without a second thought.

We recently had an extensive new kitchen move, utility area and downstairs cloakroom created by Jimmy and his team. From the very first contact, which I had an extremely prompt and different experience from the anonymous reviewer on 26/04/2025, Jimmy was both very professional and friendly, as were all of his team. Quoted 5-7 weeks for the works which included taking down walls and redirecting drainage to say the least. Job was completed in 5 weeks and to such a high standard we are delighted! Had a few unexpected surprises along the way, lack of lintel in supporting wall was one, but Jimmy took them all in his stride and rectified any issue promptly and efficiently. His team were amazing and very helpful, even dealing with our dog when we couldn't be there to ensure he was safe from the works being done. The team always turned up on time and cleared up each day before they left. I personally could not be happier with the finished job. We will definitely use again for any future works and I would happily recommend them if you are looking for efficient, friendly builders with great work ethic and excellent standards. Agreed on a job and price, then stopped answering phone calls and messages. Wasted my time. Very disappointed.

The AM Builders Engineer came to service a Worcester Greenstar 2000 boiler. He was most helpful and thorough, and also corrected some errors not addressed by the company which did the previous service. The service charge was as notified and I very much appreciated his work and valuable advice.

AM builders did some structural alterations to my property for me. This included removing of a chimney breast and installing support brackets for the chimney stack, removal of two load bearing walls and installing two RSJ's as well as opening a new window and bricking up a couple of old windows. They got all of this signed off by Building Control for me. I found AM builders really easy to deal with. They were super fast at providing a quotation and really clear and transparent about the work they would do. I also added some extra work after the quote and before they started work which was no problem. Towards the end of the job i asked them to put up some stud walls for me and to soundproof a wall adjoining the neighbouring property which they were really accommodating of and gave me a quick and reasonable price. They finished the work ahead of schedule and on budget, and as i mentioned, even did some extra work for me. This is the first time I have done any building work of this scale so was I a little nervous but AM builders were really friendly and easy to work with and I appreciated the transparency and directness so there was no confusion and everyone was clear about what was happening. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will be getting them back to do my extension.
