After being let down previously by so called builders, I rang AM Builders number from which trusted traders, Jimmy came round, he was very friendly and helpful and really knows his stuff, he and his team was polite and friendly and started work at 8 every morning, always tidied up after themselves and, and now got the bathroom I dreamed of, and I can't thank them enough, I will be contacting them later to have a new kitchen.

Having recently purchased a new house, we wanted to use a builder that could offer us a ‘one stop shop’ rather than using lots of different traders. We decided on using a&m builders as they could offer us everything we needed including plumbing, electrical work, knocking down walls, decoration, laying floors and a kitchen installation. We had direct contact with a very personable chap called Jimmy. He was straight talking and very knowledgeable. Despite us wanting several changes as the commenced, he was very accommodating and I cannot speak highly enough of him or his company. I highly recommend this company as their work is of the highest quality whilst also being very competitively priced.

After being let down by previous builder (unfinished loft conversion) spoke to Jimmy at AM Builders and explained situation We agreed a time and Jimmy turned up exactly when he said he would, he went through everything that needed doing and explained everything in detail and suggested the best way to proceed to put things right. He had to put right all the plumbing and electrics plus the bathrooms and the flooring and also painted the complete property. He said it would take four weeks but it actually took six weeks but charged the initial quoted price. Jimmy and his team did an excellent job and the quality was exceptional I would highly recommend AM Builders job well done thank you.

This is my second time working with Jimmy on a complete refurbishment of a terraced house. We got our house back after a years-long ordeal with our previous tenants where we did not have access to the property for 7 years. We were horrified at what we found in the house; dangerous building work, plumbing and electrics; an unauthorised loft conversion; failing guttering; damp; and a garden that had been used as a dump for scrap metal from the surrounding area. The day we got the keys back we couldn't believe how much work it was going to take to get the house back into a habitable condition. However, having worked with Jimmy on a similar project the year prior, we felt confident that we would get the best result for the fairest price in the quickest time. In under two months Jimmy and his team have completely transformed the house into a beautiful, bright family home. It has been completely re-plumbed, re-wired, re-floored, re-decorated and fitted with a brand new modern kitchen and bathroom. Jimmy also created a great new outdoor space for us, amongst countless other smaller jobs that he does with the customer always at the forefront of his mind. Builders don't come more hard-working or trustworthy than Jimmy - you will be lucky to work with him.

I engaged AM Builders to make my dad's ground floor area into a more accessible living room, kitchen and bedroom with an accessible toilet. Due to a lack of time on my part, I could only give them a loose idea of what was required. They did everything requested and made some helpful suggestions without trying to force them on me. I changed some of my original request when it became clear my dad's needs had changed, and they took the extra work in their stride. Throughout the process, the team arrived every morning as agreed, were friendly, easy to get on with and clearly knew what they were doing. All the work has been completed to a very good standard, on time and on budget. I would happily use them again.

AM builders did some structural alterations to my property for me. This included removing of a chimney breast and installing support brackets for the chimney stack, removal of two load bearing walls and installing two RSJ's as well as opening a new window and bricking up a couple of old windows. They got all of this signed off by Building Control for me. I found AM builders really easy to deal with. They were super fast at providing a quotation and really clear and transparent about the work they would do. I also added some extra work after the quote and before they started work which was no problem. Towards the end of the job i asked them to put up some stud walls for me and to soundproof a wall adjoining the neighbouring property which they were really accommodating of and gave me a quick and reasonable price. They finished the work ahead of schedule and on budget, and as i mentioned, even did some extra work for me. This is the first time I have done any building work of this scale so was I a little nervous but AM builders were really friendly and easy to work with and I appreciated the transparency and directness so there was no confusion and everyone was clear about what was happening. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will be getting them back to do my extension.

We recently used AM Builders in Rainham, led by Jimmy, for a full renovation of a property my wife inherited last year. The house was in a very dilapidated condition and required significant work throughout. Jimmy and his team completely transformed the property and the end result exceeded our expectations. We were so pleased with the quality of the work that we asked Jimmy to refurbish another property we own in Southend-on-Sea shortly afterwards. Once again, the process was straightforward, I received a quote, handed over the keys, and the work was completed on time and to a very high standard. I had some delays obtaining the necessary permissions from the council regarding skip, but Jimmy stepped in and handled the issue for us, which removed a lot of stress from the project. I would strongly recommend Jimmy and his team. He is honest, trustworthy, and takes real pride in his work. Nothing is rushed and no corners are cut everything is completed to a high specification.

Jimmy & his team did a complete full renovation on my three-bed property. I took a chance to contact him & his team and was amazed by length of time this team had done it in. If i didn't spot their van I probably wouldn't have contact them. Their workmanship, professionalism is on point! They know how to look after their customers and had listened as to what we wanted - our initial idea's of the property was a bit extravagant however Jimmy & his team did give us other idea's as to how we can bring out the full potential of our property. Work carried out on our property: took out double chimney breasts, Skimming/Plastering, fitted new kitchen, bathroom, rewiring/adding spot-lights, fitting flooring, re-routing plumbing to drainage, replacing skirting boards, hanging doors, painting the whole house inside/outside! The team are very hard working and work at a high standard. When a days job is done - They always tidy up after themselves! You can see how hard they work and it shows in the quality of work that they do! I would definitely recommend the team to anyone!

From beginning to end am plastering provided an excellent service. we were given a quotation and after agreeing a start date for the work, everything went as planned. car garage converted into a room, toilet refurbished, new porch build and roof for the garage repaired as it was in a bad state. The end result was amazing. Thank you to all the staff, the plumber, the electrician, the brick layer, the worker, especially Jimmy who organised everything and done an excellent job. Definitely would recommend.

I had several quotes from different tradesmen for a room to be reskimmed, new flooring, door architrave and painted, some electrical work in lounge and to have a through lounge, hallway and passageway painted. I chose Jimmy because I found him very helpful and friendly and he had good ideas and reviews on Which Trusted Traders. Jimmy and his team did a fantastic job at a competitive price. They arrived promptly at 8am every morning. They worked very hard to a extremely high standard everyday and finished the job in the 2 week scheduled time. They work very clean and cleared up after themselves. I would recommend Jimmy and his team. I am very happy to have found an all round builder that I can trust to do impressive work and not cut corners. Neighbours have asked to look at their work and have been very impressed. I have asked Jimmy and team back to have further works done.

Fantastic company. I would have no hesitation at all to recommend AM Builders. They recently completed a full refurbishment of our property in East Ham and the project was completed to an incredibly high standard. They stripped out the house, re-plumbed, re-wired, fitted a new boiler, repaired damage to the walls, refit a brand new kitchen and bathroom, plastered all walls, repaired the guttering, fit new flooring throughout, insulated the loft, took care of repointing and decorated to a very high standard. When we met with them to discuss the project they straight away they gave us new ideas and spotted things that we were unaware of. Throughout the process they were very communicative and kept us in the loop, spotting any issues early on and either advising us or going ahead with our requests as and when they came up. The team are highly skilled and very efficient, the project was actually completed slightly ahead of schedule which has hardly ever been the case in my experience. Jimmy always puts the customer first and has helped us achieve exactly the desired outcome for our house. In fact we’ve already booked in for another project with them in the new year.

AM Builders carried out a full refurbishment of a large bathroom. After stripping out the existing fixtures, they installed a walk-in shower, created recessed shelves, fitted new lighting and they fully tiled the bathroom. The quality of the work (in particular, the tiling) and the attention to detail was outstanding. Jimmy and his team take real pride in their work. The team arrived on time every day and worked very hard. The work was finished on time and to budget. The work was good value for such quality workmanship. Customer service is very good - they promptly sorted out a snag at the weekend. The team was neat and tidy and left everything in good order everyday and at the end. This was my second time using AM Builders and I would definitely use them again in the future.

Jimmy of AM Builders and his team recently undertook extensive and very necessary work at my house consisting of: replacement of flat roof on extension; replacement/cleaning out of guttering to whole house; clearance of overgrown garden; conversion of bathroom to wet room; tiling and redecoration of adjacent lobby; new drainage system; fitting of vinyl flooring in morning room, hallway, lounge and front bedroom; remedial work to damp in morning room, plus redecoration and fitting of new units in this room; repainting of front bedroom, hallway and stairs. Jimmy adhered to the start date he had given me for this work, and estimated it would take 3-4 weeks. His workmen always arrived before 8.00 am, worked hard and were polite and helpful. Of the various estimates I received for this work, Jimmy's was very reasonable. That, in the end, his estimate was exceeded was because additional work was added, at my request. Despite this extra work, everything was completed within 4 weeks.

We used A M Builders because they can do everything we needed and at a reasonable price. Jimmy gave us some good ideas and advice. Jimmy & his team gutted our bathroom first, then tiled our walls and floor and around our window frame. Then fitted a new shower unit, re plumbed everything & fitted new sink & toilet & rad etc. Jimmy & his team then started on our Kitchen as we wanted a kitchen diner. They knocked down our partition wall and closed of a no longer needed doorway. Then took ceiling down & insulated & re plastered, levelled the flooring & one wall, then re plastered throughout. Then started on the plumbing side and took old gas pipes out & fitted new piping for electric appliances. Then tiled our floor throughout and fitted us a new separate downstairs toilet new tiling & small sink. Then Fitted out new kitchen units & rad, sink etc and decorated for a fantastic finish. I would highly recommend Jimmy and his hardworking team to anyone.

Jimmy and his team completely refurbished an entire property for me. This involved structual work including new support beams, door openings as well as repositioning of the kitchen. The project included the complete strip out and reinstallation of plumbing (new boiler, radiators and pipework), electrics (new cabling, sockets, lighting, smoke detectors), new kitchen (new units, gas installation and appliances) as well as bathroom (tiling, bath/shower, sanitary ware). Jimmy and his team were excellent. The quality of their work was outstanding, they took great pride in their respective trades. Communication was excellent, the team were very accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy. A great sense of humour was a bonus! The project finished on schedule. I was always informed of things to anticipate ie sourcing items, deadlines and logistics. I felt that my property was in safe hands. Jimmy's mantra of 'if we're going to do it, let's do it properly' was always reassuring. I was thrilled with the quality of the finish and any issues that were raised along the way were always addressed promptly. A very happy customer.

We had a an amazing experience working with Jimmy and his team. Very through, efficient and time management was on point. Every little concern of ours was handled and the adjusts were made without a second thought in mind. We was extremely happy with the customer service Jimmy and his team had provided. We didnt have to worry doing any running around if anything was missing - Jimmy handled everything from the smallest to the biggest issue. My kitchen was left clean and tidy ready to use as soon as they left. I would definitely be using AM builders again! For anyone reading this you wouldnt regret this either. I wish there was a way to give you more than 5 stars on here as id definitely wouldve been doing so! Following our recent kitchen renovation, we can't recommend Jimmy and his team highly enough. This was, without a doubt, one of the least stressful experiences I have had with tradespeople, with Jimmy and the team full of experience and knowledge. Jimmy took charge of everything and just delivered. Our renovation required an unexpected rewire, which, as soon as identified, Jimmy took us through what was needed, why and how. As soon as the okay was given, the team took that on top of the kitchen fitout without a second thought. Each day saw progress and the kitchen was left in a clean and tidy state at the end of each day, as was the garden where they were working. If Jimmy says he is going to do something, he will do it, whether that is at a time or day the team will be there, or getting the right accessories for the job. We are thrilled with the results, and it is such a transformation of what we originally had. Everyone who has so far seen the end results has been impressed, and we have recommended his services without a second thought.

We recently had an extensive new kitchen move, utility area and downstairs cloakroom created by Jimmy and his team. From the very first contact, which I had an extremely prompt and different experience from the anonymous reviewer on 26/04/2025, Jimmy was both very professional and friendly, as were all of his team. Quoted 5-7 weeks for the works which included taking down walls and redirecting drainage to say the least. Job was completed in 5 weeks and to such a high standard we are delighted! Had a few unexpected surprises along the way, lack of lintel in supporting wall was one, but Jimmy took them all in his stride and rectified any issue promptly and efficiently. His team were amazing and very helpful, even dealing with our dog when we couldn't be there to ensure he was safe from the works being done. The team always turned up on time and cleared up each day before they left. I personally could not be happier with the finished job. We will definitely use again for any future works and I would happily recommend them if you are looking for efficient, friendly builders with great work ethic and excellent standards. Jimmy and his team were excellent. From initial quotes/discussions, through planning and the job itself there was clear communications and full transparency. Quote was accurate but more so the quality and pace of work was second to none. Despite some unexpected challenges on the job they finished ahead of schedule. We knocked put a wall, redid electrics, installed a new boiler and kitchen. Everything was done to a high standard. The best bit is it was stress free - Jimmy managed everything including all the details. His team is polite, hardworking and committed. Highly recommend Jimmy and his team. Will use them again for next 2 projects.

Following our recent bathroom renovation, we couldn’t recommend Jimmy and his team more highly. They brought a wealth of knowledge and experience, taking control of the entire project and simply getting things done. Any problem encountered was discussed and a solution agreed. Jimmy clearly explained what had to be done from the start, why it was necessary, and how it would be handled. Once we gave the go ahead, when the team arrived there was no messing about and within the first day the bathroom was completely stripped. Progress was visible every day, and where they were working was always left clean and tidy. Communication was very clear about who would be arriving on what day (plumber, tiller etc..) and about sourcing exactly the right materials for the job. We’re so happy the result; it’s a complete transformation from what we had before. Everyone who has seen the bathroom cannot believe how lovely it looks. Jimmy and his team had been recommended to me by a neighbour so I can vouch for consistency of work.

Had my room replastered by Jimmy and his colleague. They were fast and did a fantastic job. Would certainly recommend them to do plastering work.

Jimmy was fast to get back to us and come and give a quote for the work. We had our flooring, skirting and coving replaced with new materials and two doors fully replaced. After which we had both rooms plastered. The quality of the work was really good and Jimmy and his teams really cared about the finished result which made working with them a real pleasure. So much so we asked them to come back after the initial work (Floors/Doors) to plaster for us as well.

With a blind leap of faith I contacted Jimmy. On the phone he was very polite and in person when we met for him to quote to re-route the internal toilet stack to the outside of the property. He explained in details how he intended to carryout the job and we agreed on a price. Jimmy arrived on site on time with his work men fully prepared and ready to proceed. We encountered some snag, but it was dealt with efficiently in a manner both parties were happy with. A day was lost, but to make up for it, Jimmy drafted in extra labour which saw the job completed on time. The work ethics can't be faulted, and I found them to be extremely polite and cautious. Valuable time was not wasted on endless cups of teas nor on idle banter and standing around. On completion, area was left tidy. This is one builder one should have on speed dial. My blind faith paid off.
