We recently hired AJM Construction for a major house renovation, including a porch extension, kitchen-diner opening with steel, a new kitchen, and bathroom renovation. AJ was fantastic to work with—open to discussions and always ready to support his team. His crew was punctual, hard-working, and went the extra mile. Mandeep, in particular, had a positive attitude and offered great suggestions. We're already planning additional work with AJ and would highly recommend his team for home renovations.

Amarjeet converted a large bathroom into a small bathroom and small bedroom. The quality of the work was excellent, the team were reliable, polite and hardworking. The work has to be completed to a very tight deadline and didn't overrun by a single day. The work came in on budget as well and there were no unexpected extra costs. I made some last minute changes to the design which were not a problem. I would not hesitate to employ Amarjeet and his team again.

We would highly recommend AS builders who have just renovated our Victorian terrace house for us. They stripped back, replastered and installed new ceilings throughout the property. Also fitting skirting boards, doors and we added a new bathroom to the works which the tiling was finished brilliantly in. Amarjeet was always at the end of the phone to discuss and agree on any changes. We added a lot of items to the original quote, all of which was fairly priced and no trouble to do. The team of builders were very friendly and it was good having the same team throughout. We are really happy with all the work AS completed and will be getting them back to do our extension next year!

From the very first meeting with AJM Contractors, we knew we were in safe hands. Our project involved a loft conversion and extension, the demolition of a chimney stack to create one large room, staircase remodel, installation of an en-suite, custom wardrobes and painting. With a toddler, a dog, two cats, and both of us working from home, it was essential we found a team that delivered quality while being respectful of our space. AJM made the whole process unbelievably stress-free. Armanjeet, owner and PM, was fantastic. He was on-site nearly every day, always available to speak with, and incredibly responsive via phone and WhatsApp. His communication style gave us complete peace of mind, and we always felt informed and involved. The whole team were polite, respectful, and hardworking from day one. They arrived at 8am and worked solidly until 5pm, even through a freezing winter. Their attention to detail was second to none, and their knowledge across all aspects of the build was invaluable—they provided thoughtful advice on both aesthetics and practical solutions throughout. They even helped collect deliveries (including from IKEA) and introduced us to trusted contractors for carpets and decorating—helping us get great deals. Nothing was ever too much to ask. By the end of the project, the team felt like part of the family—we’ll genuinely miss them. If you’re looking for a skilled, respectful, and reliable contractor, you won't be disappointed.

We’ve had a great experience working with AJ and his team on the renovation and loft conversion of our Victorian terrace house and have no hesitation in recommending him. From the first time we met AJ we were struck by how carefully he listened to us, considered what we were after, and suggested ways to achieve what we wanted to achieve. His quote was reasonable and the costings were clear. He started the project on time and kept us informed of plans throughout, using clear invoicing. We were constantly in touch via WhatsApp, and he was always quick to share updates and photos of progress, and reply to any questions we had. He was also patient with us when we changed our minds about a few things or were slow to make decisions. We hit our fair share of snags in the build - this was a 130-year-old building and there were clear structural problems visible once AJ stripped it back. He prioritised safety and was good at offering suggestions and alternative options when we came across unexpected issues. Any extra work that needed to be done during the build was discussed and costs agreed in advance (he also kindly included some extra work without charging us). He kept the build moving steadily along despite challenges with damp and structural issues. AJ and his team have been friendly, patient and efficient throughout the build. Mandeep deserves a special shout out for his skills and kindness. We couldn’t be happier with the results.

Amarjeet and his team were fantastic from start to finish on a Kitchen renovation project. The work involved removing a wall and extending the kitchen, putting underfloor heating, fixing the electrics and plumbing. All of this was done to a very high standard with minimal disruption to our day to day life. With 2 little children in the house, I was very concerned about dust and the team were exceptionally mindful cleaning up after the day was done. The thing that stood out for me was the accommodating nature and the ability to be flexible as unexpected surprises happened on our project. Amarjeet provided peace of mind and ensured that I was 100% satisfied which I was. I would have no hesitation in using him for our next home project.

I found AS Builders through Which? Trusted Traders when looking for a reliable builder to complete a rear kitchen extension. The work was carried out between July and November last year. Despite a number of unexpected but unavoidable issues arising during the work (related to the period nature of the property and the poor standard of workmanship carried out for previous owners by other builders - for example a smaller previous rear extension had to be demolished entirely and new foundations dug), Amarjeet and his team took things in their stride. They were hard-working, polite and flexible and carried out the work to an excellent standard. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or to use their services again for further work to my property.

It was great working with AJ and his team. They did a full renovation of our house which included knocking a few walls , plastering both ground floor and first floor, creating a new arch and installation of a few new doors as well as electricals around the house. AJ was great and very knowledgeable, advised us on what was best and helped the process be much smoother

Reliable and professional service provided to a excellent standard. Various works completed at my property, including; preparation of frame and installation of roof skylight for rear extension. Also, complete installation of bathroom and kitchen extractor fans, which was a tricky job but completed to a high standard - much appreciated. Plastering, installation of roof ridge tiles. Highly recommended.

I recently had the pleasure of working with AJ on transforming my 1-bedroom flat into a 2-bedroom space, which included significant structural changes. From the outset, AJ exhibited exceptional professionalism and expertise. The project's complexity required meticulous planning and coordination of various tradesmen, but everything ran smoothly thanks to AJ's superb project management skills. The quality of work was outstanding. AJ ensured every detail was executed to perfection, with precision in the structural modifications and impeccable craftsmanship. AJ’s wealth of experience in both structural and aesthetic aspects of building was evident throughout. Communication was another strong point. AJ kept me informed during the entire process, providing clear explanations and timely updates on WhatsApp about the next steps and decisions that needed to be made. This transparency instilled great confidence and trust. AJ also provided valuable input typically expected from an architect, which was a tremendous help. His insights and suggestions significantly contributed to the project’s success, making the final outcome even better than I had envisioned. Moreover, AJ and his team were always punctual, hard-working, and respectful of my home, maintaining a clean and organized work environment. AJ was incredibly flexible and accommodating, listening to my ideas and providing valuable suggestions, ensuring the final outcome exceeded my expectations.

We had some housekeeping issues initially, however AJ ensured his workers fully respected our property when we raised our concerns. The work was done to spec and drawings and there were no hidden extras and generally to program. Could not fault the standard of workmanship, anything that we weren’t happy with AJ was more then willing to change things to ensure we were happy with he final end product. AJ and his team were non-confrontational throughout the process and they kept within the boundaries of the site works and our home, that made a huge difference when you have children. I will use AJ construction again.

AJ, Mandeep and the boys are very friendly and trustworthy. I would definitely consider them again for construction work. The project started in May and finished in October, but we got the kitchen back at the end of August. This was a month or so behind target due to delays in Magnet and window delivery. It was a kitchen refurb with many structural changes, removing two chimney breasts, installing a steel the length of the kitchen, knocking through to the lounge, widening the door to the balcony and installing steels to support both new entrances. Relocating services to the opposite side, installing an additional radiator and underfloor heating, tiling, and kitchen . We had a new sliding door set which we arranged ourselves. Outside leading up to the kitchen, the decaying Victorian stone staircase and balcony was demolished and replaced with a metal painted black staircase and balcony. The outside of the building was re-rendered and painted and a redundant window was filled. The patio was extended to accommodate the slightly extended staircase and underneath where the brick foundations were previously. Just before the start of the refurb, the old dishwasher leaked and made a hole in the basement ceiling. AJ also quoted for and did the basement ceiling and converted the old Victorian outside toilet into an inside one to make it nicer and fit a small utility, and block an exposed drain rerouting waste pipe to outside, to box some exposed piping and repaint.

Based on a friend’s recommendation, we recently had our bathroom renovated by AJM Construction and couldn’t be happier with the results! From start to finish, AJ & his team were professional and skilled at their craft. Despite us changing our plans relatively last minute, they provided great design suggestions, showed very high quality of workmanship and were super reliable. From coming at agreed times, working while we were out of the house, over weekend work for timely completion; to helping us pick-up materials, what impressed us most was their trustworthiness.

AJ and team did an entire strip out and refit of my bathroom. I had selected the main fixtures and fittings already, but from the beginning AJ helped me measure up to ensure I had selected the right things and helped me select more complex items (like underfloor heating and electrical fittings / extractor etc). AJ was super transparent about costing and payment terms. He sent me all invoices and checked with me when buying additional fittings. And final payment only when I was happy. And his team flexed to my work schedule which is chaotic at times. His team also did some additional tasks like taking down a bookcase for me. They were diligent and just got on with the job and cleared up. I had a lot of paintwork that needed doing as the bathroom is panelled. Some of the final touches could have been slightly neater, but overall the standard of work is strong and nothing was a problem for AJ. Overall super trustworthy and reasonable.
