I contacted Josh because my 15-year-old washing machine was making a horrible noise when I used the Spin setting. We arranged an appointment for the following week. Josh spent some time finding out the problem and succeeded in reducing the noise. He diagnosed what was basically old age! But happily, he suggested that, as my machine was still working, I could carry on using it and that, at this stage, I did not need to invest in a new one. Even more helpful for me, Josh realised that my kitchen ceiling light was out of action. (I confessed it had been so for several months and that I had just not got around to doing anything about it.) As he had a switch in his van, Josh immediately fitted a new switch. Unfortunately, the lighting diagnosis was worse as, even with the new switch, the light did not work and needed replacing. Josh recommended to me a suitable replacement light and, when I had purchased it, we arranged another appointment for installing it. I am now very pleased with my new, bright kitchen light, especially as the dark winter nights come on. An unexpected benefit of my contact with Josh! Many thanks.

Josh attended very promptly (the same day I called him) and fixed a washing machine leak, without charging me unnecessarily for any parts. Clearly knows what he's doing and proved himself to be honest and reliable. Would use him again.

Washing machine stopped mid cycle. Phoned AJ Appliances. Engineer was on another job, but could get to me for 9.30-10 pm. Amazed he was prepared to work so late. Arrived promptly, diagnosed the issue, which was an electrical fault with the feed. Expertly repaired the wiring and had the machine working again. I highly recommend AJ Appliances.

My 18 year-old Bosch washing machine broke down on a Tuesday. I rang AJ Appliances and the engineer arranged to come on the Wednesday (he even suggested coming late Tuesday!). True to his word, he came at about 8:45pm on the Wednesday and fixed the machine quickly by servicing the motor. He also reassured me that an 18-year old machine is probably better built than a 3-year old model and worth repairing when it breaks down. The service was friendly and very professional. I cannot recommend him too highly. He is first choice from now on.

Arrived at the agreed time and despite some issues removing some rusted screws and subsequently having some difficulty in accessing the insides of the washing machine he persisted, resolved the issue and got my washing machine working again. I have a Bosch Series 2 washing machine that's only just out of it's 2-year guarantee period that suddenly stopped spinning clothes properly. Given how relatively new it is I expected this to be a minor fault like a blocked pipe. I requested a call out and was kept informed as to when an appointment could be arranged. The engineer took the time to talk me through what was being done as he worked at every stage. It transpired that the machine was suffering from a failure that he felt would be too expensive for him to repair. Many other tradespeople would have tried to talk me into a costly repair job, but I was given a refreshingly honest answer and spared all this. I have to say this honest approach is really rather refreshing in a tradesperson. I was then advised to file a claim against the retailer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and I'm delighted to say that the company in question has agreed to provide me with a partial refund based on the assessment of this trader! All this without having to spend potentially hundreds of pounds on expensive diagnostic tests etc. One more point. When paying via bank transfer I overpaid by £10. I hadn't noticed this myself, but was promptly alerted to it the same day. Now that's honesty. This is easily the best trade experience I have had in many years. If you have a problem with your washing machine or other appliance, do yourself a favour and give them a call. I wouldn't go anywhere else, and nor should you.

Arrived on time next day for simple repair, quickly replaced broken part, no fuss, friendly guy, reasonable charges. Will use again.
