We chose to work with Mark on a full refurbishment of our house. He came highly recommended and we couldn't be happier. He is reassuringly thorough - from the big project elements to the smallest details - and easy to work with: prompt, responsive, knowledgeable, transparent and collaborative. The house has been transformed. While a surface-level touch up would have been easy, Mark made sure that the fabric of the house is as up to date as the new decoration but with our budget and future requirements in mind. We highly recommend Mark and would absolutely work with him again.

Preparing and decorating stairwell across three floors of Edwardian house, including shoring up stairs, significant repairs to plasterwork and ceiling, wallpapering and lots of gloss work: I chose Artful Painters because they presented as experienced and knowledgeable, gave a competitive quote and a long warranty. I'm glad I did, their work is superb. Extensive preparation and skilled finishing. No corners cut, more filling where necessary, more coats where needed, all the right products. I can see why they are Farrow and Ball approved. The end result is of a very high quality, on time and on budget. On top of that, very pleasant and straightforward to deal with. We'll be using them again.

Mark responded quickly and efficiently to my request to quote and quoted in good time. Quote not the cheapest but felt right. Mark and his team arrived at 7am, on the dot, as agreed, on each of the 7 days it took to paint the internals of my complete home. Together with Tom, and Pete, both of whom were very pleasant and hard working, produced a quality job with minimal disruption or dust, even going the extra mile to correct areas where the original decorators fell short. A pleasure to do business with and highly recommended.

I had Mark's team paint my entire flat and fix my en-suite bathroom flooring. Mark and his team were efficient and reliable. They checked with me at every stage to see if I was happy with the painting and the colours I chose. They were on time and ensured that the place was tidied up before leaving everyday. We had some delay because of weather conditions last year but Mark stuck with his original estimate in spite of rising prices. I was very pleased with the standard of work and the thorough preparation . All the decorators working on the job were friendly, helpful and a pleasure to have around. We have used Mark and his team at Artful Painters for a number of jobs and have since recommended him to other people in my family. For the latest job, he updated our bedroom, organising the moving of a radiator, the installation of new plug sockets and a full redecoration. He also refurbished our fire escape, treating it for rust and painting it in appropriate paint. The work was on schedule, on budget and expertly executed. We were the annoying clients who decided to we had gone for the wrong colour on the bedroom walls after painting was complete, and Mark organised for it to be repainted immediately with good grace and no complaint. The thing we like best about Artful Painters is that the work is always done to a very high standard - they really care about the details and take pride in their work - and they operate completely professionally. When we first found them it was like a breath of fresh air. Highly recommend!

I can honestly say Mark and his crews are the best I've ever worked with. I learnt more in 6 weeks than I've learnt contracting in the last 2 years. The work involved a complete redecoration of a cloakroom and utility room after a mains water leak. The work is excellent and we are very pleased with the result. The work was completed to specification and to the quoted price (variations were subsequently agreed for extra work). Importantly, all the workers were sociable and friendly, an important consideration when people are spending a couple of weeks in your home.

I have recently used Artful Painters to redecorate the inside and outside of my house and am extremely pleased with the quality and the value for money of their work. The work was done during the COVID-19 pandemic and necessitated appropriate precautions throughout, and these were also done very professionally. Mark's quotation (developed pre-lockdown) was very competitive and would have been the final outturn cost had I not increased the scope of work at the last minute! He and his team took care to prepare surfaces properly before finishing them to a high standard. They kept us fully informed of their schedule throughout which really helped us to do our bit to preserve a relatively safe COVID-19 environment around the house. What made them stand out? Mark and his team are excellent. We previously hired them to redecorate the inside of our house and they did a great job. We recently had them back to redecorate some areas that had since been damaged and also to re-paint our front garden wall. His team go the extra mile to make sure everything looks perfect. Tidy, polite, great attitude and, most importantly, top-class workmanship - what more could you want?

The team did a top class job decorating the outside of our house. This despite the weather working against them throughout. We needed a lot of woodwork repair and the team used two-part resin, which is the only way to go if you want a permanent repair (as opposed to two-part wood filler which in our experience only lasts a year if you’re lucky). A thorough and professional job. We’re delighted.

They turned up on time, kept their promises, kept us informed at all stages of the work, and checked any necessary decisions with us. Excellent service!! The work was carried out exactly as agreed to perfection! Mark and his team were punctual, efficient and very tidy. The work is faultless, they have restored an old tired worn out Victorian property back to (if not better than) it's original glorious stature! Mark was also able to accommodate my tight time schedule even though they were very busy. Great company to work with, the site was always clean and tidy and when they finished all rubbish was removed. If you are looking for a fast, reliable and top class service, you will be hard pushed to find a better company.

We arranged for Mark to come at 12pm today to give us a quote. He was an hour early (which is fine) but...he didn't tell us he was going to be here an hour early. There was another decorator already here giving a quote so had to ask Mark to come back later, he said he would come back later but was clearly not happy at this like it was my fault or something! A few hours passed and I sent Mark an email asking if he was coming back or not. He replied promptly and said he was sorry as he had to go to a meeting and for asked if he could come back next Wednesday. So basically twice in the day of not letting me know what was going on. I told him this was not a good level of reliability and told him we'd just leave it at that and cancel the quote.

Mark and his team were able to fit us in ta short notice due to a postponed job. They helped us get the rooms ready for the decorating and covered everything to ensure nothing was damaged or dust ridden. So grateful for this help. I have used Mark and his team before, they do a great job, work really hard and are in and out before you know it. They even did some extra painting to ensure the final look was up to standard. Great advice and they will always be by decorators of choice.

Artful Painters have just finished painting the exterior of my house, a job which was long overdue and involved some detailed work in picking out decorative bricks in a different colour, which did not make the job any easier. Mark and his team worked tirelessly, never taking breaks. They dealt with maintenance issues and did work of an exceptionally high standard. The difference they have made is considerable. Work done was of good quality. They left the room clean and very tidy and even took their shoes/boots off in my house, not many trade workers do that.
