Ashmark Roofing

We have used this roofing company a few times now over the years for different parts of the roof and would not use any other. During the last storms in December we had water dripping down into our shower room. Steve who has been working for this company for a few years came to investigate as to where rain might be getting in. He was there for a long time trying to understand where the weak spot might be moving tiles and taking photos which we were shown and climbing higher up the roof too. Tony the owner sent the quote which as usual was carefully described as to what sort of work would be carried out. Steve came punctually on both days and sent us photos of before, during and after. He, as always, was very willing and polite. The price quoted was that charged. Obviously early days after the work and more storms due so fingers crossed.

I had a leak in my kitchen roof which was staining the ceiling. The team came around and assessed the issue and identified a few issues with the roof tiles. They provide a clear quote for the work. They arrived on time and were very polite. They completed the work to a high standard and tidied up and took away their rubbish. I was very satisfied and would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

This was the third time we have used Ashmark Roofing, and once again we were happy with their work. The problem - a split in a roof valley - was quickly identified and repaired by Tony and his co-worker. This company is reliable and the quality of their work is good. I'd happily recommend them.

Ash mark carried out renovations to my roof, replacing missing tiles and repointing around ridge tiles. All work carried out to agreed timescale and price. I have used Ash mark for work on several occasions and have always been very satisfied.

The trader responded quickly to my enquiry and sent a representative within a few days to consider my situation and advise me how to proceed. An estimate was soon produced, based on observations from ground level. A phone discussion with the trader enabled me to agree the scope of the work needed. After I had secured the necessary agreement from my neighbours, a start date for the work was agreed. The work on my chimney stack was promptly carried out (by the same representative I had met earlier) and I was pleased that this work was completed in one day.

I used Ashmark Roofing to overhaul my roof. Tony who came to do the quotation and subsequently carried out the remedial works with his mate. Tony, is an experienced, professional and personable roofer and answered all my questions. I felt the scope of the works proposed was reasonably and honestly reflected what needed to be done. Finally, I had scaffolding up to repoint the chimney stack during storm Bert and I was pleased to see it still up when I woke up on the Sunday after the strong winds.

Ashmark Roofing have done a few jobs for us over the years. They are reliable, professional, good value for money and easy to deal with. Unlike many in this business. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.

A gentleman popped over to quote and looked carefully at what needed to be done (more than just a cursory glance). The scaffolding was arranged quickly, then two days later the two gentlemen from Ashmark Roofing turned up on time, were friendly and polite, got on with the job, and explained what they were doing and why. When there was a small change to the plan this was discussed with me. No nasty extra costs. They left everything tidy. A guarantee for the work was sent through by post.

I used Ashmark Roofing, recommended by a friend, after I had been told by other companies that I needed a new roof. Tony assured me that most roofs could be repaired in his experience. He sent Steve to assess the job to be undertaken. Steve looked at the roof and made an assessment of the repair required. Although I wasn't given much notice of when the work would be undertaken, given the particular circumstances, I rearranged my schedule to accomodate the date given. Steve is an excellent roofer. he is one of the few roofers, I have known who really enjoys repairing roofs rather than replacing them, and takes a pride in what he does. He has sorted the problem and has assured me that should it recur he will come and sort it. Such skilled workman, in my experience are difficult to find these days. I also have the company's guarantee and would definitely recommend them

I used Ashmark Roofing for a replacement flat roof. The company has been very professional throughout, from organising the quote through to completing the work. Communication with Tony to organise dates and times was very smooth and prompt. Paul and Brad were super professional and did an excellent job on the flat roof. I have used several roofers in the past, with Ashmark being the best. I thoroughly recommend them as a very professional company with excellent service and workmanship.

Tony and the team at Ashmark helped resolve an issue with our flat roof and replaced some coping stones. The team turned up on time and finished the job that same day taking all of the rubbish and debris with them. Although they were a little more expensive than other quotes we received, we’re very happy with the work and would use them again.

Ashmark re-covered our flat roof (on a small block of shared freehold flats) 26 years ago, so they were a top contender to do the same again when, after many trouble free years, we started getting some leaks in the recent very wet winter. We had already decided some time back that, once we started to get any problems, we would go for complete renewal and would add insulation. Comparative quotes showed their price to be the local rate for the job. The two workers (the senior of whom had been the assistant on the previous occasion) were pleasant, helpful and ready to answer any questions arising in the course of the job. Disturbance to residents was minimal and, when a detail needed to be changed in a way which reduced time and material needed, they promptly reduced their price without our needing to request this. All was completed in the predicted timescale. The site was kept clean for the duration of the work and all rubbish was cleared and scaffolding removed a few days after completion. As Secretary of the flats management company I was their main contact. A 10 years guarantee has been provided.

Ashmark Roofing replaced the surface to the flat roof of our garage. They were very thorough and worked very hard. They were very friendly and we were happy with the work done. Would definitely recommend them.

After moving into our house we contacted Ashmark Roofing about some much needed gutter repairs and chimney re-pointing / capping. Tony was sent round to assess the work required and gave us an honest assessment of what was required with no hint of trying to oversell things. When it came to doing the work everything was completed on time and the price was exactly as quoted. The work was done in a friendly and efficient manner. If there are two more experienced and competent roofers than Tony and Mick then I’d like to meet them - we were very happy with our experience

I used Ashmark Roofing, based in London N21 to sort out a persistent problem that I was experiencing with a downpipe on my two storey house. It was one of those jobs that you put off and put off, but everytime there was some moderate to heavy rain the downpipe would not do its job and water would spill down the wall. No signs of damp problems, but rather than face costly remedial work I asked Ashmark to provide a quote. They charged £432 and did the work within a few days. Now the downpipe and guttering works well.

Removal of defective apron flashings at the base of two dormers and replace with code 4 lead, cut and lapped to appropriate lengths and dressed over tiles of pitched roof. This first required careful removal of the bottom course of tiles for each dormer and subsequent replacement of said tiles. The work was carried out to an agreed schedule and at cost specified in the quotation. The trader worked from scaffolding at roof level for two days in direct hot sun. Communications with the trader by phone and email were satisfactory.

I first used Ashmark Roofing about 10 years ago to replace and renew the flat roofing on my garden shed. The work was done by Paul and an assistant. They explained what they were doing and were polite and tidied up thoroughly. There have been no problems since, and the guarantee has run out. Since then I have used Ashmark Roofing a few times with problems relating to guttering on my conservatory roof and elsewhere which they resolved. Last summer the ground floor extension to my semi-detached house developed a leak and here this took some time to resolve. The man who came to fix it also called Tony couldn't pin-point the source of the leak despite 2 or 3 attempts. So the proprietor Tony Hewett sent somebody else called Steve who came over and straight away identified the source of the problem. He did the work at the beginning of May 2024 and there have been no more leaks. He was friendly and polite and I wish he had come over at the onset The original job was done about 6 month earlier but it took this long because I didn't want anyone coming over when it was raining and there has been a lot of that. The proprietor Tony Hewett is a man of principle and good ethics and he is not satisfied if his customer isn't.

Steve and Paul repaired my roof. They were punctual, hard-working, reliable and pleasant to deal with. They dealt with any problems in a helpful manner and kept me informed about what was going on. They discussed the various possibilities clearly. They kept to the schedule and quotation.

Ashmark replaced an old, leaking flat roof above a bay window and from start to finish both their communications and the work carried out were refreshingly professional and efficient. Tony always responded promptly to emails and phone calls and Paul and Brad, the team who did the work, were prompt, courteous and did and excellent job. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

We had damp in an upstairs bedroom from previously blocked and overflowing gutters. We also had a leaky lean-to roof. Tony came round and took a good look before arranging a very reasonable quote. Tony and Mick worked really hard for us on the day, sorting out the gutter, doing pointing on the chimney and sorting out the "fillet" between the extension and main building, as well as adding eaves carriers where needed and re-taping the lean-to roof. All these jobs took a little longer than expected, but they completed the work without complaint or extra charge and they only stopped once for a break and a cup of tea. It was a pleasure having them around - real old school gents and they take pride in their work, are experienced, and know what they are doing. The lean-to is nice and dry again and hopefully the wall upstairs will now dry out completely so we can re-decorate. Thank you too for brilliant communication and pleasant chats throughout. I will definitely call on Ashmark Roofing again when I need them. - Oh, and, by the way, they also predicted the weather better than the Met Office did! :-)

After 2 previous attempts by different roofing companies to fix a longstanding issue with our back roof without success (one company making the problem much worse) Ashmark Roofing have succeeded! Tony's communication by phone and email has been excellent throughout both in relation to the roof itself and the scaffolding required. Steve was excellent in carrying out the work, which ultimately differed to that quoted. This was due to his logical troubleshooting and altering the repair that was required accordingly. Overall I am very pleased with the company's service, communication and cost of the work. Thank you!

Really good service from Ashmark: I needed our old flat roof renewed as well as the guttering fixing. The quote was competitive, they were able to do the work earlier than expected, and the the guys were brilliant. Really recommend them

I booked Ashmark for a range of small and necessary tasks on our roof. They are an established firm with many years' experience and it shows. The quote was clear, reasonable and thorough. Steve and his assistant arrived early. They were lovely and kind, and worked diligently, quickly and clearly effectively. The site was left notably clean on both days. The resulting work is of a very high quality as one might hope. I'm so glad I found them, and I will be trusting them again.
