We'd been looking into getting solar panels for a while and were a bit overwhelmed with all of the info out there. We'd been targeted by a few Facebook ads and had some awful experiences trying to get reasonable quotes, with massive variety around the figures and some really unscrupulous sales people - one who refused to give us a quote until we'd completed a 90 min sales pitch and committed to taking it up unseen (!) We nearly gave up, but then checked Which? for renewables providers with the highest ratings and found Ask Renewables. It's been a different experience entirely. No pressure, in fact, the person who quoted us said that we'd find the info useful to take with us to get other quotes. They've been clear, explained everything brilliantly to us as complete novices, and the work was completed to a high standard and efficiently. They were there when they said they would be and all is up and running brilliantly! We're so impressed that I've asked them to get in touch with my dad to quote him too. Would definitely recommend without reservations.

The company was quick, responsive and impressive. The initial visit was quick, the proposal was detailed and clearly explained. The installation was done quickly, neatly and effectively. Found this company following a telephone call to the local Council to clarify planning requirements. My initial contact was with Tony, the owner of the company, a man who truly is an expert in this field of work. After a detailed chat about specifications and outputs he put me in touch with Ed, one of the design and planning team that ASK Renewables have. Ed came to survey the property and talk to my wife and I about what we wanted from the system. A rare find - someone who asks the customer what they want before thrusting what he wants to sell.10 days later we had the fully detailed and very easy to understand quotation with all necessary facts and figures including the total cost of system. I wanted to check out with previous customers and see examples of the work performed and soon had 3 names and address for me to make contact with. In every case ASK Renewables had gained high praise from these customers. A DNO Application was then made, handled by Sam at the office, and within a short space of time we had the go ahead. 10 days later the team were onsite bright and early. Dean led the team and from pulling up on the drive to the system being fully operational by mid afternoon the 3 technicians works with care and showed their expertise in all aspects of the fitting. They left but not before every inch of the patio and garage had been swept and tidied. 5 weeks on we are making significant savings, on many days being Grid Neutral, what is not to like.

At the initial survey, Matt asked what system we required and carried out a thorough detailed survey followed by several questions before coming up with the proposal for solar panels plus battery storage. Within the next week, we received a very detailed but easily understood quotation. Matt was aware I was getting additional quotations but did not pressurise us or offer additional ‘incentives’. After obtaining two more quotations I decided to go with Ask Renewables. A date was set for the scaffolding to be erected with the installation taking place the following day. On the day of the installation, a team of two quickly and efficiently installed the solar panels, batteries, inverter and associated equipment. They left by mid-afternoon after tidying everywhere and explaining how to use the app to control the system. I have been very pleased with how the system works and the amount of energy produced by the panels. Everyone I have had contact with from Ask Renewables has been professional and very pleasant and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

This company was very responsive right through from initial contact to job completion. The surveyor visited promptly, talked us through what they could provide and answered all of our many questions. We subsequently received a detailed quotation complete with illustrations, calculations and data sheets. We were kept informed during the process, and appointments were kept. All of the personnel involved on site; scaffolders, panel installers and electrician were pleasant, careful and obliging. We have no hesitation in recommending this company.

We had solar panels and a battery installed on our house. We received a visit from one of Ask's surveyors who was great at talking through options, giving us different ideas, and we felt he was really honest about the benefits and drawbacks of the system. We were offered an installation date within a few weeks and this was stuck to with the installers arriving promptly. The team were polite and tidy and left behind a really neat job. The electrician also talked us through the basics of how to use the app to monitor our electricity. Following the installation we received all the paperwork we needed within around a week and then had a detailed video call with the owner of the firm to talk through the software and data in more detail, so we can monitor and maximise the benefit from the system. Ask also monitor the system for any errors on a daily basis so this provides reassurance. For somebody who knows a little, but not a lot, about how these systems work, everything was clear and the company were very helpful. We're very happy with the outputs from our system particularly considering we are in one of the darkest months of the year! We contacted a couple of traders for quotes and Ask seemed in line with the market rate. We have been recommending them to friends and family already!

ASK renewables have installed solar panels and a battery system for our o home. I was seriously impressed by all the personnel from the moment we contacted them. Ed, the surveyor was prompt, efficient and courteous. Most significantly of all he was not pushy especially as we were trying to future proof our system to take into account a new electric cooker. The installation team were very good, experienced and efficient. Finally, the communications, app explanation, and handling of the transactions plus handover packs was done with refreshing courtesy. I was also so impressed with the after sales support from Samantha in sorting out the paperwork for G99 letter of authority. The system installed is working well and generating power as planned. I can recommend this company without reservation.

We have had a solar panel installation recently completed by ASK Renewables. The service provided has been excellent from start to finish. We obtained a number of quotes, but we chose ASK because they provided a thorough survey before we made any commitment and took time to explain how the system works and more importantly to listen to what we were looking for. It was clear throughout the process that not only the survey team but the admin side and installers have a clear understanding of panel installation and functioning. The survey suggested a certain configuration, but on install, the installation team suggested one panel be moved for greater efficiency. The installation was carried out smoothly, efficiently and on schedule. The team took time to explain how the app works, which we spend lots of time checking. We have now had the system for two months and we are delighted with the results and even over these winter days we are almost self sufficient in electric power. ASK provided a thoroughly exceptional and professional service. We would and already have recommended them.

The quote provided by Ask Renewables was competitive and was fully explained by the surveyor to ensure it covered the work we anticipated as well as being fully appropriate for our circumstances Various options were clearly explained Some minor enabling works were required before installation could proceed - Ask Renewables included those works in their price, whereas the other quotes excluded the minor enabling works Installation occurred on the due date The crew were polite and tidy and really could not have been more helpful The electrician went to great lengths to explain the app he helped me install on my mobile The app itself is very useful and user friendly - It provides live and historical data regarding kwh downloaded by the panels, transferred to the battery as well as total power used by the property including downloads from the Grid The paperwork relating to the installation, warranties etc., arrived by email and by hard copy in the post within 10 days of installation Some 2 weeks after installation the surveyor rang me to check everything was in order

Really impressed with Ask Renewables Ltd. From the initial consultation with the surveyor Matt to the erection of scaffolding and solar panel installation by a lovely bunch of guys. Advantages of having this company install your solar panels: 1) No salesmen - everything was explained very clearly and concisely 2) No pressure selling - I didn't have to make a decision on the day in order to get a discount on the price. 3) Free surveyor visit - this was the only company that sent a surveyor out to look at my house, the roof, in the loft and take all relevant measurements and make suitable recommendations. 4) Quoted price was the sale price - there was no negotiating as this price was very competitive compared to other companies that I received quotes from. 5) No deposit required - again (unlike the other companies) they asked for no payment until the work had been completed and I was completely satisfied. 6) Full payment not requested immediately after install - the company monitored the solar pv system remotely for a week to check for any potential teething problems before they requested payment. 7) No immediate install - I had to wait up to 45 days before the panels could be fitted due to them requesting permission for the install of a higher power inverter. This meant that I can use more of the energy generated rather than exporting it to the grid. Customer service provided by Sam and Tony was second to none and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

Installing a solar panel system is an expensive capital investment and we were bewildered by the number of companies available. There were also lots of horror stories. Having found that Ask-Renewables were relatively local to me (Yorkshire) and the highest rated Solar PV company on Which? I arranged for a survey to be carried out after my first phone call with Samantha - not a sales rep but a director of the company. Nothing was too much trouble (despite my having my own ideas about what I wanted my system to achieve) and at no point did I feel that I was being pressured into buying something. Their advice was good (I did my research) and, having found them to be very competitive on price, we arranged the install. It is worth noting that we obtained three quotes in total and, not only were Ask the most competitive, they were also by far the most professional in their approach. One company quoted after looking at our house on Google Earth and then tried to pressure us repeatedly to sign up! Not Ask. The install was incredibly smooth despite my particular requirements not being 'standard' and even when an additional item was required (again, due to my particular needs) someone jumped in a car and brought it out to the fitting team. All done and complete in the day! We installed a large 8kw array with a 6kw hybrid inverter on a south facing roof. Our first week generated enough power for our whole house inc ev and sent £50 back to the grid!

I contacted ASK Renewables and others for a Solar PV quote. Three companies just used Google Earth and only ASK and one other company visited. I have roofs which face South, East and West. Matt was brilliant from start to finish. He surveyed my house in detail and discussed his recommendations. Matt could answer the many questions that I asked about the various options. There was no hard sales talk, just a follow up detailed design, cost and offer of support. I contacted Matt on other occasions for further advice and he was so helpful and knowledgeable and gave me so much confidence in ASK’s offering. Another key factor was that half of the scaffolding would be on my neighbour’s property in a tight space and Matt worked closely with the scaffolders to produce a plan that worked. During the installation Ed visited site to ensure that both the scaffolding was erected as planned and that the install proceeded on schedule. Dino and the installation team performed an excellent job working a long day to install 20 solar panels, two large batteries and an inverter, only leaving when I was happy with the working system. After the install, I’ve had follow-up contact from Matt to check that all is OK and to continue the offer of future support as needed. My experience with ASK Renewables has been excellent and they have been an outstanding company to deal with throughout the entire process. I would certainly recommend them for a Solar PV system install.

After my initial enquiry I was contacted by Tom who arranged a visit to discuss a solar/battery installation. There was no pressure to sign up and Tom gave sound advice and recommendations for a suitable system. After placing my order Ask Renewables dealt with the DLO to gain the required approvals and after the inevitable delays with the DLO my installation was booked just days after the approvals were received. I was even given an upgrade on my panels free of charge as the original panels ordered were not available at the time of my installation appointment. The installation was completed within a matter of hours and all the people involved were polite, efficient and tidy in their work and I was given clear instructions in the use of my system on completion. I would not hesitate in recommending Ask Renewables to anyone interested in a solar/battery system.

We had quotes from a number of companies, and ASK were by far the best in their combination of product and price. In addition, the service from the ASK team from initial visit to post-installation check-in was superb. I really felt that Matt was interested in designing the best system for our needs rather than selling/upselling a system that was more expensive but not really needed (he convinced us that a more expensive 'optimised' system was not suited to our needs/roof). He also gave us lots of advice on how to get the most out of the system. The installation could not have gone more smoothly. The installation team were great and really nice guys - I was amazed that they were able to install in a day - and helped get the web/app system up and running. I would definitely recommend ASK Renewables!

I have recently had solar panels, batteries and and inverter installed by Ask renewables, and would highly recommend them to anyone. They were very professional throughout and I am extremely happy with the system they installed. The process went through very smoothly, and felt the advice offered at each step, including checking if I had any issues and advice about how to get the most out of the system, was very useful.

We decided to explore the world of all thing solar a couple of years ago having just bought our first EV. Finding an installer proved to be a challenge so we decided to put the whole project on the back burner. Recently we became aware that a close friend had had quite an extensive system installed by ASK Renewables so we decided to approach them for a quotation. The whole experience from first contact to installation was first rate. The surveyor explained everything in detail, in simple layman’s terms; the resultant quotation was very detailed showing equipment to be installed and projected payback period. The three man installation team arrived on time and got straight to work. The whole installation of 14 panels, Inverter, two batteries, ancillary equipment and associated cabling took just four hours. Before we knew it the system was connected to our home WIFI and as quick as that we were up and running. The inverter and batteries are installed in the loft area which is not used as habitable space with isolation switches and import/export meter mounted on the wall of the loft stairs the over side of the wall from the inverter making the whole installation extremely neat and tidy . We think the team did a brilliant job and they obviously took pride in their workmanship. Before leaving the electrician showed us how to operate/monitor the system using the LUX app. We are now benefitting from reduced bills and solar energy meeting our normal daily consumption on most days. W

Now 9 months after my install I feel confident enough to review the team at Ask. Renewables I had initially collected a few quotes by searching the internet for local suppliers, who called surveyed and quoted and did not feel reassured enough to proceed. I then discovered Which Trusted Traders as part of my subscription. A quick postcode search gave me some supplier options and some helpful third party reviews Tom did the survey and he provided a comprehensive quote, it was competitive with others I had received and so I decided to proceed with the installation using the Ask team. The process was very smooth from start to finish with scaffolding, roofing install and electrical/IT set up all being completed efficiently. Back office support was also friendly and helpful, expediting the required paperwork. So the results – projected generation has exceeded expectations and the forecast. The system is delivering about 10% ROI (return on investment) and we are currently feeding in enough energy to pay both our gas and electricity bill (including the standing charge) for the last 5 months. As the price of electricity has fallen this has lengthened the original projected payback, but If I had left the money in the bank I would expect 5% max and any tax liability on top. I have had one or two minor questions and the Ask team have been rapid, friendly in their response. So the complete package and would recommend their work to others

Trusted Trader, to select Ask Renewables to provide a quote They were the only company to visit from three carefully selected companies and from that moment I realised they were the best company for me. Matt who surveyed the house is fantastic, he is incredibly knowledgeable and professional and has been able to answer any questions I have had (numerous) and support me through the whole process from start (quote) to finish (installation) and incredibly providing ongoing support to assisting me selecting ( providing options) my energy supplier and tariff. We were recommended ASK Renewables by our friends who were incredibly happy with their own solar installation. Initially, I wasn’t planning to implement solar myself. I was simply seeking a quote for reference, thinking it wouldn’t be a suitable option for our needs. When Matt arrived to discuss solar with us, I had no intention of making a decision. However, we hit it off immediately. Matt was incredibly knowledgeable and didn’t push us. Instead, he asked all the right questions to gain a thorough understanding of our energy usage. After explaining the various aspects of a solar and battery installation, and providing me with a quote later that day, I was fully convinced. It’s been a month since the installation, which took approximately 5 hours. We couldn’t be happier with the smooth process and the exceptional team. The system works flawlessly, and we’ve reduced our reliance on the grid by about 90%. In fact, the system now indicates that we’re 100% self-sufficient. If you’re considering solar, I highly recommend ASK Renewables. It’s not as expensive as you might think, and they deliver an excellent service.

ASK Renewables were amazing from start to finish. They showed a genuine interest in getting the right system for us and gave us a lot of flexibility to suggest what we wanted. The original quote was thorough and excellent value, and it was trustworthy considering the surveying of the property that went into preparing the quote. Their communication throughout was great. No pressure selling involved, but really quick to respond to questions and queries. Installation was fast and high quality, getting the solar and battery system up and running within half a day, and aftercare was great, including supplying necessary documentation and checking in on how the system is working. I couldn't recommend them anymore as all aspects of this experience have been great.

I had been looking into solar for my new home and gathered quotes. Ask Renewables were always my preferred supplier due to the work they had done a couple of years ago for my mum and her neighbour. They didn't disappoint! From the initial phonecall, Matt's onsite visit and quote and then the install by Deeno and team were all very informative, and delivered to a high standard. We were looking to get solar panels fitted at the same time as our 100 year old house was being re-roofed. It's in a conservation area so the details had to be right. Matt sorted out the complexity of fitting solar panels very close to new Velux rooflights, and the installation team worked happily alongside our roofers. All the work was completed in two days and the system is working perfectly to power the new hybrid heat pump system along with the rest of the electrical loads in the house. Many of the financial savings come from changing to a different tariff and charging the batteries when electricity is cheap, and our gas usage is now much much smaller. Matt has been in touch a couple of times since installation to check that everything is working as it should.

From the initial enquiry through to completion of the installation, it has been a pleasure working with ASK. The installation team (Craig, Josh and Mark) were excellent—friendly, helpful, professional, and tidy. They represented the company exceptionally well. Both Matt and Ed have also been consistently helpful and engaging throughout which was appreciated, as their guidance and recommendations really helped.
