We got quotes from 4 companies for a battery and inverter system to replace our old, small units and to use our existing solar panels. We chose Ask Renewables for a few reasons: their reputation as seen on review sites, their prompt and knowledgeable responses, no hard selling or pressure, and on top of everything else their competitive pricing. Throughout the process everyone we dealt with was courteous and professional, and on the day of installation the team were expert, friendly, respectful and efficient. The job was completed without fuss or mess. The system is working just as expected and I have every confidence that it will continue to do so. Since the installation they have contacted to make sure every aspect is meeting expectations. I would be happy to recommend Ask Renewables to anyone looking for a solar energy system.

I first contacted ASK Renewables in January 2025, along with a few other companies. I was initially sceptical about solar panels and whether they were the right choice for me, but ASK Renewables took the time to explain everything clearly and in detail, which gave me the confidence to move forward. What stood out straight away was their approach—no hard sell, which I really appreciated. Their quote was competitive and in line with others I received, so I decided to go ahead. The solar panels were installed in April 2025, and I couldn’t fault the quality of service at any stage. They arrived exactly when they said they would—first the scaffolding team, who were friendly and considerate, followed by the installation team, who were equally professional and punctual. From start to finish, everything went smoothly. Whenever I’ve had questions—whether about switching energy providers or accessing the export tariff—they’ve always responded the same day. I had a phone call today from Mat regarding an enquiry I had sent to him about fitting extra solar panels to my system. Matt spent 20 minutes explaining the pros & cons and told me that it was not a viable project for me to go down this route, and the amount of time it would take for me to get my money back was way too long. I would recommend this company to anyone who has any thoughts of installing or buying any solar products, as they are open & honest about everything, which in these days of hard sell is very refreshing.

After thinking about solar for a long time and doing research, we finally decided on Ask Renewables to do the installation, mainly because they had great reviews, and I can say their reviews are very well deserved. Fantastic company from start to finish. Mat came initially and assessed the property. He explained everything in detail, and there was zero pressure to go ahead. I was left to digest all the information before I contacted Ask Renewables to go ahead. From the lads who turned up to do the scaffolding to the lads who did the installation, they were clean, tidy, and polite and did a professional job. Samantha, whom I also dealt with, was simply lovely, and we were contacted after installation to make sure all was going well. I am so happy I chose Ask Renewables, as I am confident that if I need any help in the future, they are always on hand for advice. From the start of our experience with ASK, the staff made the process from enquiry to installation really easy. From my very first contact with ASK Renewables their whole team was friendly, efficient, supportive, professional and customer focussed. I was very nervous about choosing the right supplier for my solar panels and battery and spent quite a chunk of time choosing a partner that would give me good advice and not let me down. In the end I narrowed it down to three providers, a large energy firm, a recently bought out independent firm and a truly independent trader Ask Renewables. Ask and one other did a site visit whilst the large energy supplier used Google maps to assess the property. Ask were by far the most thorough and Matt the consultant gave me solid advice which in the end made me spend less money than I was expecting and gave me everything I was looking for. The installation was pretty seamless and whilst there was a small hitch with the panels I am pleased to say that it was sorted on the next working day with Ed keeping me fully informed. The end result is very neat and tidy and I am really pleased with the outcome. What’s more I know that Ask Renewables will be there to support me on an ongoing basis to make sure that the tariff is right and I am getting the most out of the system. So for me a 5 star rating for the people, the panels, the batteries, the installation and the ongoing support. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I am 81 years old and have had a lifetime’s experience of customer service - good, bad and indifferent. My experience with Ask Renewables rates alongside the very best. From start to finish they were excellent. I am delighted they were recommended to me and I cannot recommend them highly enough to others.

Right from the first meeting Matt showed us all the options available and gave a detailed description of how the system works and exactly what we could expect from the performance of the panels & batteries. He carried out a site survey (checking for tree blocks with line of shading etc.)of our property and then sent through a detailed competitive quotation. The whole team at Ask are very friendly and knowledgeable, and made the whole process very easy. Ed also visited to discuss the fitting and the fitting team of Craig & Mark were very professional, tidy and friendly also , and carried out the job in what I would say was a horrible wet day! A mention for Sam too, back at the office for dealing with my questions on a few occasions. I would certainly recommend Ask Renewables to anyone.

Having already spoken to another company and still being uncertain as to whether solar was right for us we spoke to Ask, who explained the processes, benefits and costs so much more clearly and were then available to answer any lingering questions we had. Their quote was more competitive than others we had obtained and we took the decision to go ahead following a meeting with Matt. The installation took place within 6 weeks, on the day scheduled and all the work was completed within hours to an excellent standard. Since then Ask Renewables have been in hand to help with any queries and to ensure that we are maximising the benefits of solar.

We had solar panels installed by Ask Renewables and we are 100% satisfied with the whole process. Matt and Ed were easy to deal with, very knowledgeable, and, moreover, good at explaining solar panels and how the whole system works. The quote was competitive and we feel very happy with the system installed. They dealt with all our questions and explained things we would not have thought of. We had some complexities associated with planning permission in a Conservation Area which they assisted with, and they came up with an alternative proposal once it became clear we could not install panels on our south facing slope. A further potential issue of possible asbestos in our roof tiles was speedily resolved and work scheduled and completed to our satisfaction. They took particular care to minimise inconvenience for our neighbours, on whose property scaffolding was required, which we much appreciated. We were impressed by the high health and safety standards adhered to for all the workers involved. The installation was speedy and with minimum mess. We are very glad we chose Ask Renewables, and continue to benefit from their advice and help as they provide excellent service after installation too. Highly recommended.

There are many solar companies about, but ASK Renewables are the real deal! They have done a fantastic job, that was well supported both during and after, and they did it quickly, to the highest standards and were professional the whole time. Would highly recommend!

We had solar panels fitted in a very professional way with prompt and speedy service. The issue identified before the installation of the panels was that our roof probably wouldn't have been strong enough to be unscathed after the installation process. So a very competitively priced re-tiling & felting was offered and carried out as part of the solar installation. The whole process was professionally delivered and any damage corrected and with very close support from beginning to end. We would recommend the company 100% for all aspects of the work; including working with our other contractors who were on site.

It appeared that our solar pv inverter had failed. the company who originally installed the system appeared to have gone out of business so we searched the Which Trusted Traders website. This company was we thought within striking distance of us in the North of England but nevertheless about 80 miles away. Tony asked salient questions about the symptoms displayed by our inverter and explained the possibilities but did not want us to feel pressured if a replacement inverter was necessary and reminded us that more local companies may be able to do the work more cheaply and quickly. We were reassured by the Which endorsement and decided to go with them. The work was in fact done earlier than planned which delighted us and the technicians worked efficiently, speedily and tidily. Tony communicated with both the technicians and us during the work to ensure that we wanted them to be the ones to replace the inverter. He explained every stage clearly in plain English. The work came in just under the estimate and we would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Ben (electrician) arrived first and very quietly but efficiently prepared for roofers to arrive. As a team, they worked, quietly, and efficiently and were very personable and polite. They cleaned up after themselves. No hesitation in recommending Ask Renewables. Sam is very knowledgeable and explained everything, I was wanting to price up a battery but she suggested waiting a year to monitor. This shows great integrity, as it would have been very easy for her to sell me a battery.

From start to finish the the lads were polite and helpful, the work was of a high standard and nothing was to much trouble. I would highly recommend Ask Renewables to anybody considering solar panels.

ASK quoted me for roof-sited solar panels and battery storage, along with two other Trusted Traders from Which? There's proved the best for my needs. Their people were very accommodating to my numerous queries and communication between us was very good. Installation was delayed a few days because of high winds, but all went well on the planned day. The fitters were courteous, worked hard, finished on time, and tidied up well. Still remaining in contact with ASK for further technical assistance with exporting excess power. Very pleased with the whole installation and no hidden charges.

We decided to contact Ask Renewables after reading the wonderful reviews on the Which website and we wholeheartedly agree with their comments. Sam (in the office) skillfully guided us through the process and arranged for Tom to carry out a site visit. He asked us what we would like before mentioning any of their products and this was very refreshing as previous quotes were quite heavy on sales patter. Tom discussed where would be best to site the inverter and batteries and after an inspection of the roof and measurements we had another chat to discuss what size of array was possible and our options on which type of inverter/batteries might best suit. There was no pressure to order a specific set up and we soon received a detailed quote from Tom which set out everything with a clear price. We tweaked it slightly - adding extra batteries (for future proofing) as we intend to purchase another EV in a couple of year's time. Once we accepted the quote we were looked after by Sam again who applied for the DNO regarding the 5 Kw inverter. It came back quickly so Sam booked our installation for 21st March 2023. Scaffolding was erected 2 days before the 3 installers arrived. We were amazed at how smoothly/quickly the installation went and were guided through installing the monitoring app onto our phones before they left - fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly guys. We highly recommend the whole team at Ask Renewables! The system is already providing significant savings!
