Asset Lofts

The project was to convert a very unusable loft space into a double dormer conversion which gave us two double bedrooms, bathroom with shower, boiler cupboard and a lovely high ceiling staircase. From start to finish, Charlie, John and the team were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We have three young children so it's important to feel comfortable with the team who will be practically living at the house during the works and we got a good feeling about them from the first meeting. Charlie explained the process clearly and was easy to get hold of. We had a whatsapp group during the build which helped with comms (and we have had bad experiences of this in the past). I was worried that it would be stressful having people on site but we got to know the building team John, his son Joe and wider team as well as Charlie who was co-ordinating and looked forward to seeing them each morning. My son who is Autistic would chat to them while they had their morning cuppa and they always made time to answer questions and listen to ideas. We really missed having them around when the project was finished. The lead builder John was patient with my indecision over finishes and there were days where I had the whole team helping me choose roof tiles and they always tried to help and make suggestions. The end finish was excellent and has transformed the space. Highly recommended.

I had an outstanding experience working with Asset Loft on my rear extension and ground floor refurbishment project. From start to finish, the professionalism and support provided by Terry and his team were exceptional. Right from our first conversation, Terry stood out as the only builder willing to give me a ballpark figure, which was invaluable in helping me plan and manage my budget. As someone new to building projects, this guidance made a world of difference. My first venture into the building world and luckily I found Asset Lofts. The whole experience has been so much better than I expected. I converted my garage to a large utility/storage room and in front I added a large entrance room. I used Asset Lofts for all the work including architect's drawings and planning permission which made my life easier. From meeting Charlie, who presented the company exceedingly (and accurately) well to Shane and his team who worked on the building and everything that involved, everyone was so helpful and professional and I felt in safe hands. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone starting a building project.

Over the moon with the kitchen that was recently installed by Graham Aldons on behalf of Asset Lofts. Graham and his team fitted my entire kitchen from the electrics, flooring, appliances, cupboards and everything was done to the highest standards. They were reliable and totally committed to the job which is hard to find these days. I would highly recommend Asset Lofts to anyone that needs reliable, top-rate builders.

Asset Lofts (Terry and team) were brilliant. The converted half a double garage into a utility room with pasterboard and plastered stud walls and ceiling, fully fireproofed. The floor was sealed and raised with full insulation and an electric heated floor fitted that I then had tiled. Terry spec'd the job and gave a fair quote and started on tine as agreed. His main builder, Shane, was superb, full of creative suggestions, and he and his team worked professionally - the trades he brought in (carpenter, plumber and electrician) were the same. We commissioned Asset Lofts to build our loft conversion to add another bedroom with en-suite in 2022. To get to crux to why you’re reading this: Q: Would I recommend them? A: YES. Q: Would I use them again? A: YES. A little about our Project Our home was built in 1969 and is a two floor (now three) an end of terrace with a simple pitched roof. We required a simple roof dormer to the rear and everything you need for a new bedroom with en-suite. Of course I had to make it more complicated which Asset Lofts was happy to work with. Did everything go to plan, no, but everything ended up good in the end. What went wrong, really only a bunch of small delays here and there, which were all caused by the third parties I brought into the project and a little rain because I didn’t get a tin hat roof on the scaffolding… why o why didn’t I choose to get a tin hat. We commissioned our own architect and structural engineers to draw up our plans, in hindsight I wish didn’t, they cause small delays communicating. We had to remove the chimney breast which I was happy to see go, and I took to opportunity to install a smart hot water cylinder on the first floor but that’s other contractor I added into the mix. We already had a solar PV array on the front roof that I required removing and reinstalling after the roof was re-felted, re-battened and relayed with the old tiles, and Asset Lofts was more than happy to accommodate my Solar contractors requirements around sca

From the first meeting, I had confidence in Asset Lofts. I received a quote very quickly which was very easy to understand and covered all elements of the work required. I then met the team running the project who again were very professional and talked me through the process and how they could achieve the very tight time frame I gave them as my tenant was leaving the country for 3 weeks to get married. We had weekly progress meetings on site and spoke on the phone if there were any decisions that needed answering during the build. The project was completed on time and on budget. I was extremely impressed with the way they kept the neighbours happy and were supplied with teas and coffees by them during the build. A fantastic experience and would definitely use them again.

Assets were a very good company to deal with and were excellent in terms of customer service, advice and direction. Our adjoining neighbours were displeased with the scaffolders and it lent on their property without consultation. Assets were able to resolve this effectively, which was good. They completed a loft conversion for us on a 3 bed semi. The work took 3 weeks longer than expected but this was not a problem. The work was of good quality, however we were not impressed with the electrician as he and the project manager did not communicate effectively which meant holes were made in the new walls which needed to be repaired and the a light was missing. It was rectified but could have been avoided. The project manager was very good and was able to adjust the designs to enable better use of space at no extra cost, which was excellent. The work damaged the bay window fascia which was not picked up until after the scaffolding came down. I did not feel assets took the appropriate responsibility and I was asked to pay extra for this and felt this was unfair at the time. However, in hindsight I should have made more of a fuss with this. There were some changes to the original design and some additional extras which were reasonable added prices. Overall, we are very happy with the finished product and end result. I would use Assets again and be happy to have them do more work with us.

Asset Lofts were excellent. From the outset, they demonstrated they were a professional company. Terry and Charlie provided their company's credentials and references and gave us a competitive and detailed quote. Asset offered a complete service from design to gaining planning permission, right through to completing the build. Crucially, they provided a dedicated team for our job. Wes and co were a pleasure to have on site. Friendly, always polite and communicative, they gave advice, provided excellent workmanship, with no question or problem too big or small. I would gladly recommend them.

Overall very happy with work. Converted an empty unused space into a work office approximately 2.5m wide by 3.3m long. Creating space away from the rest of the household. Pleased with my bright new space.
