Steven was a delight to deal with. He assessed the repairs needed to my roof and submitted an estimate of costs relatively promptly. His team arrived on time on the date advised and carried out the bulk of the work required in a couple of days. The final piece of work - replacing tiles on a single storey extension - was completed on the same day as the scaffolding to the rear of my property was removed, and all left clean and tidy. I would have no hesitation in recommending the company.

Came on date arranged. Pleasant, efficient, quiet workers. Tidied up afterwards. Gave advice as needed. Completed the work in the day, as I had been told it would be & the final cost was the cost quoted originally. All very satisfactory. Difficult to state the quality of the work done as it was roofing work which one can't see. Only time will reveal the quality but I have no reason to think that it was not very good.

Steven's team were on time, knew what they were doing and carried the repairs as quoted for in a professional manner. They left the site clean & tidy after the works were completed in the day.

Steve and his team completely reroofed our house. Something we had been dreading! They were thorough, knowledgeable and all the team were very pleasant to deal with. We contacted Steve after experiencing a couple of leaks in our roof. After an initial assessment, Steve suggested replacing/adding vents and replacing broken tiles however after the work was carried out we still had the leaks. Steve came back around and after weighing up the options suggested we replace the roof. Steve and his team were able to complete the work earlier than we thought was possible and in a timely manner. We found Steve and his team to work efficiently and always kept disruption to a minimum. We would highly recommend Steve to others.

We had a leak in the valley on the roof. We realised this from the stain on the kitchen ceiling. Steve visited and immediately inspected the valley. He found three faults: two sections in the lead valleys had split one plastic vent tile had distorted. There was a short wait before the work was done as expected for a well-respected tradesman but the whole job was done in less than a day. The site was left tidy. Steve is a pleasant man to contract with.

Steven Atkins were called in to investigate the cause of staining on our kitchen ceiling as a result of water ingress. Access to the suspect roof area was awkward due to the adjacent conservatory and roof pitch configuration but splits were discovered to a lead-lined valley gutter and temporarily sealed. The lead valley was subsequently replaced as promised and repointed up and a separate broken tile was replaced. Additionally, a new downpipe was installed to take the rainwater load off the bottom of the valley from the adjacent roof pitch and discharge into the conservatory box gutter. The work undertaken was diligently carried out with the necessary protection and I would not hesitate to use Steven again and certainly recommend him as a trusted roofer.

The job was complex. Steve assessed the work to be done and provides a guarantee on completion. He provides a personal professional service of high quality, along with his team. The work was completed in the time frame he set and all was tidied to the customers’ satisfaction - we are 5 flats.

Mr Atkins recommended by close friend. He called to quote and comment what needed completing . Turned up on time and sent through a quote which was lower than expected. I was happy to proceed without another quote as he and his colleague obviously know what they are doing. I did have to chase him once but this shows he is busy. Job mainly completed except the cement due to horrid weather. Came back as promised. Stuck to price quoted. I am very happy indeed. Would use him again. Well done.

Atkins Roofing fixed a long term problem and rectified previous poor roofing work. Atkins Roofing were the third company I employed to do the job, they took half the time of previous roofers and their costs were very reasonable. Steve & Adam replaced old leaking stepped lead flashing on a pitched roof. I was very worried about getting a good roofer but didn't need to with my choice. I received a detailed quote & the work was carried out to the quoted price & carried out on time. The quality of their work is to a high standard & everything was left clean & tidy with all waste being removed. They were both very friendly & helpful. Steve replaced by barn roof which was corrugated sheet metal. Excellent job with additional ridges, barge boards and guttering. Recommend him to anyone.

Steven attended to fix a leak, but after 6 months and 3 visits it’s still leaking and I’m being “ghosted” after assurances they’d fix it. Cash in hand so no paper trail. I’ve since taken the hanging tiles off myself to investigate the leaking zone, they had been re-hung with silicone rather than nails, and the silicone was funneling water into the house. Ticking time-bomb before failure. I’ve now fixed the issue, wouldn’t recommend for a leak repair.

Steven and Adam replaced all the fascias, soffits and guttering on four dormers on our house. In addition to this, on two dormers they replaced tiled cheeks with cement board planks as well as renewing the felt roofs. This has totally transformed the appearance of the dormers and will reduce maintenance in the future. They worked with great care and attention to detail to ensure the best fitting possible. It was good to see them taking real pleasure in doing a good job and not rushing it. They were very good at keeping us informed on progress and were pleasant and approachable at all times. The work was completed to time and we agreed in advance a small increase in cost to improve the overall look of the finished job. Steven has previously done other roof work on our property and he was our first choice for this dormer renovation work. He is highly recommended.

We are delighted with the workmanship from Atkins Roofing. We have a period, ‘locally-listed’ home in Berkhamsted conservation area with a ‘quirky’ roof, quite difficult to access, on multiple levels, with original tiling. Steven and Adam made a super, neat job of re-bedding all our bonnet, hip and ridge tiles. We hope to have them back soon to re-point our chimneys. We used Steven to do some roof work at my mother in-laws and were impressed then. This time Steven and Adam did a complete roof replacement on our recommendation for my daughter and her partner ( breathable membrane, battens, new concrete tiles, flashing, facias and guttering). The work was completed on time and looks great. Steven was excellent at staying in touch and everything went smoothly, including a return visit to fix a section of guttering where the scaffolding stopped a proper fit. Reliable, helpful and competitively priced we have no hesitation in recommending Steven.

Steven and his colleague did a great job replacing my guttering and installing a new fascia board. I was very pleased with the work at the time, but have been prompted to post this review because their subsequent customer service has been particularly impressive, including providing advice about a drainage issue unrelated to the initial job. Their work was of a high standard and fairly priced, and they were friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend this company.

Steven and his colleague were able to quote and then undertake the work in good time. We had water coming into our roof. They redid our chimney flashing, repointed and added a bird guard. We had a subsequent issue with a much smaller leak. Steven came out very promptly again to resolve the problem. Steven came when he promised to have a look at our leaky roof. He quickly diagnosed the problem - when others had failed to - and sent me a reasonable quotation. Once we agreed to the work, he turned up promptly and got on with the job. He fixed the roof, even though it was a trickier task than he initially thought and also secured some other loose slates. The trader has a wealth of knowledge and experience, the can be done approach to the problem with the roof was helpful and reassuring to a layman requiring important work to be carried out.
