John and his team re-built our front brick wall beautifully with a new foundation exactly the way we wanted it. The work took place over 4 days, started earlier than expected to the price initially agreed. The team arrived on time everyday, they were pleasant, polite and professional throughout. The work was carried out to a such a high standard, with pride and the brick laying in particular was absolute perfection. John was so easy to talk to and to work with. He listen to everything I said. The communications on the whole was great. When the work was completed all the rubbish was removed the driveway and the pavement outside was brushed, cleaned and washed. Thank you John for all your hard work. Attymas Brickworks LTD repointed the whole of our rear elevation over 3 storeys including window frames , cills and French Windows. John Fox’s excellent team Rowan, George,Dominic, Marmaduke and others took a great pride in their work. They were at all times professional courteous and efficient. They turned up on the agreed start date on time, worked hard and completed the job well within the estimated time line and in accordance with John’s estimate. John then ensured that the scaffolding was removed promptly in less than a single morning. The result is a very attractive, and beautifully restored rear elevation. The Attymass team did a fantastic job on remedial lime repointing for our Victorian house. Tidy, professional and polite it was a pleasure to have Oz at the house. Co-ordinated by John, his team, Florian, Sorin and Seamus, have re-built my garden wall with such care and skill. The original bricks were worn but, to my surprise, the team managed to salvage most of them, mixing them with reclaimed London stock to construct a lovely, honey-coloured wall; a sensitive replacement for the Edwardian original and much sturdier than the old one. Meanwhile, the garden was left tidy and the gate was repaired. From my first meeting with John, I was impressed with his obvious knowledge and professionalism. He was quick to respond to any questions I had both before and during the project and gave very helpful advice. He and his team were flexible and resourceful in responding to additional requests and worked hard, bringing the project in exactly on time and on budget. They were courteous, considerate and just so nice to have around. A brilliant company.

Having used Attymass previously for exterior pointing, we were confident that John would deliver on budget and quality, and we were not disappointed. The finish was beautiful, his team were polite, efficient and left everything tidy at the end of the day. We have a number of issues to resolve with this Edwardian property—John helped us to prioritise and scope the repairs to those that were most critical, working to our budget, which we appreciated. The front of our house needed a fair amount remedial work done including repairing blown bricks, loose mortar & a split window sill. Additionally the woodwork & panelling of the roof gable needed restoring. Lastly it all needed repainting. John’s team were efficient, professional & good humoured, taking a little over 2 weeks to complete the job including scaffold being erected & dismantled. His guys were thorough & considerate as is John. We think Attymass were good value for money & would have no problem recommending them.

After suffering damp problems for many years contacted John after a recommendation from friends to carry out a thorough investigation of the exterior alley wall. The guys were extremely thorough and ultimately discovered the cause (a leaking waste pipe below interior floor level). All of the work was exceptional With the amount of work they carried out I was expecting a huge leap in the price but I was very pleasantly surprised. I recommend this Company highly and it was a pleasure having them around.

Our front garden was seriously damaged by roots from a tree on the pavement outside our house. The remedial works involved demolishing and rebuilding our front and side walls, creating a deep root barrier, removing the existing ground covering and damaged front path, repaving with york stone slabs (that needed to be cut) , creating a new path similar to the old and repairing and repainting the front gate. For various reasons, the start of the work had to be delayed by 18 months, but despite sharp inflation , the revised estimate was virtually unchanged. Some necessary additional tasks arose during the course of the work, but the charges for them were very reasonable. Despite these extras, the work was completed in less than the estimated time. My wife and I were immensely impressed by the professionalism, expertise and amazing care shown by the workmen and by the continuous contact with John Fox who from start, when discussing the work, to finish, took every care to ensure our wishes were met. He was also happy to give advice when requested. We are extremely happy with the end result - which has attracted a lot of attention and praise from neighbours and passers by.

From our first contact with John and his team, right through to the day the scaffolding came down, they were a pleasure to work with. Every member of the team was knowledgeable, efficient and professional. They understood the special requirements of a house like ours. We live in a conservation area and they were able to advise on lime pointing. They completed the work within the agreed budget and time. We were so pleased with their work that we asked them to return in the spring to repoint the back wall of the house.

The render on our house was damaged and desparately needed repair. We called John as his team had built our porch a few years back. John and the team were recommended to me by a neighbour. The whole process, estimate through to completion and clear up was a pleasure. Clear communication, great attention to detail and real care taken to ensure the well established garden was as preserved as much possible during the process. This included working around and behind some plants and managing the dust generated from the grinder to minimise the impact etc. The quality of the repointing is great and the team doing the work were very through, careful, helpful, polite and hard working. Called upon Attymas for a 2nd time in order to carry out some minor brickwork repairs and replacement of coping stones at high level requiring a small scaffold tower. All the work was completed efficiently, to the very high standard expected, and as per the quoted costs. Matty and Oz are a truly great pair of tradesmen, and the scaffolders were also very good, adding a very useful pulley without even being asked, making the task of hauling up very heavy stones relatively easy. Will undoubtedly contact Attymas again if any similar works are required in future.

We engaged John at Attymass Brickwork to repair an ancient garden wall in our garden in Finsbury Park which had a big hole in it and which had become a thoroughfare for foxes and cats. John's men Danny and Steve did an excellent job repairing the wall, re-using the old bricks mixed with some new bricks. Whilst it required more extra bricks than we thought (as it turned out some of the old material was unusable), we understood as a customer that it was unanticipated that the material in the middle of the wall needed replacing, and though we had to spend a bit more on the extra bricks, we agreed to just get on with it. The end result was a thing of beauty, a really high-quality piece of work. Danny and Steve were extremely professional, tidy and courteous throughout, they put down covering so our hallway stayed clean and tidy, and got the job done in fine fashion. Would definitely recommend, excellent work.

We were particularly impressed by John who took great care to plan and carry out major works throughout the house. His attention to detail is exemplary and made every effort to meet time deadlines. I recently had some building works carried out by Attymass Brickwork, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. The job was to remove a sash window to create a new opening for a door leading to the garden and to remove and brick up the existing back door. They manage to remove the sash window whilst keeping it intact (Which I plan to use to restore the one at the front of the house). I was particularly impressed how they bricked up the old door opening with perfectly matched bricks. It's as if the new wall had always been a part of the house. Sheamus, Brenden, and the other John displayed exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail toothing in the new bricks. They worked thoroughly without cutting any corners. What's more, they maintained a clean working environment, which was greatly appreciated. The building control officer also expressed satisfaction with their work, highlighting the installation of essential elements such as the DPC, air brick/telescopic vent, and new lintol over the door aperture. The whole team were not only skilled but also great guys to have around. They were punctual every day and completed the work within the agreed-upon timeframe. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the outcome of the project and would wholeheartedly recommend Attymass Brickwork to anyone in need of high quality builders.

I recently bought a wood-burning stove for my parents. When we tried to install it in the ground floor living room, we found that the chimney breast had been removed by a previous owner, and replaced with wooden beams. After contacting various building companies about rebuilding the chimney breast, I decided to use Attymass Brickwork Limited. Their work was of excellent quality, they always turned up early, and they were even able to do the job a month early. I found them to be much better than other builders that I, or my parents, have used before. If I have any building work that needs doing in the future I will be going back to Attymass Brickwork Limited. 10/10, would recommend.

This is the 3rd time I’ve used John Fox and his team at Attymass Brickwork, The 1st time some years ago was to repair/upgrade the outside roof chimney, and on the 2nd occasion they painted & decorated the exterior of the house. The quality and finish of both of these earlier jobs were excellent, and John and his team did not disappoint 3rd time around on this latest job to break-up the old concrete patio and paths in the back garden, rebuild a new patio and paths using Indian sandstone slabs and add block paver borders. Team leader Florin and other colleagues who worked on the job were great – always punctual, always courteous, very professional and superb with the cleaning up, and they and John always responded promptly to queries & questions that I asked. The finished product was a fantastic new patio which totally enhanced the entire back garden area and it was completed within the timeframe and budget agreed with John. This was another job well done & I highly recommend John and his Attymass team.

Attymass carried out several pieces of work for me as part of one job. The biggest was a thorough renovation of the brickwork on the front elevation of the house: repairing cracked or deteriorating bricks, repointing, helical stitching, refacing bricks and colour matching. They also rebuilt part of an original garden wall which was bowing into the street, replaced the copings on two parapet walls and made some joinery repairs to a sofitt The estimate of time for the work to be carried out was accurate and the written quotations I was given were adhered to. All workmanship was of a very high standard and the job was managed very efficiently. Work of this standard is never going to be cheap, but i felt that for the number of days work involved, the materials, the waste removal, the need for a scaffold tower etc the price I was given was very fair. John, the owner, was very responsive to texts and emails about the ongoing work, making site visits whenever required and ensuring that materials were there when needed and waste was removed regularly. On completion the site was cleared and cleaned quickly. The work was carried out under the worst three weeks of weather but nevertheless the team was on site early each morning and carried on regardless. Unfortunately, in replacing the coping stones three roof tiles were cracked. To be fair the conditions under which they guys were working that day were dire, and John was round immediately to arrange replacement.

John Fox and his team did a super job with this very old boundary wall between our house and next door. It was disintegrating and leaning over badly, so they dismantled it completely, repaired the foundations where required, cleaned up all of the old bricks and re-used them to rebuild the wall. They did this very well and quickly, and left the site clean and tidy. We're very pleased with the result.

For a scheduled redecoration and minor repairs project at the rear of our Victorian semi I said to John Fox (Attymas boss) that it looked like 2-3 days of brickwork repair, repointing, and making good fillets around window frames - all this based on the view from the ground, and comparing it to the previous year's project at the front of the house. Oh boy, was I wrong - once the scaffold was in place, and we could examine everything close up, the extent of repairs rapidly grew, ending up at around 16 man days of work. The project was thrown off course from the start, through scaffolders arriving on day 1 then disappearing without trace for a week, before finally completing their job. And meanwhile decorators and Attymas's brickie Matty were doing their best to find work to access from the ground and via ladders. Throughout all of this John (and Matty) were very, very helpful and, when the full extent of work was appreciated, they arranged for Oz to join Matty so the two could work as a team, raking out and repointing large areas, as well as assisting each other to access some hard to reach areas around chimney stacks etc. The quality of their work was/is simply excellent and, on top of that, Matty and Oz were very pleasant guys to have around and cleaned up more efficiently than almost all tradesmen I've ever used before.

John was very efficient and helpful in providing us with a quotation for repairing our damaged front wall and pier. Once we agreed the quotation he arranged the works very quickly. His team were very friendly and professional. The works were completed to a high standard and we were very satisfied. We would not hesitate in recommending his services.
