This Company recently conducted building work (Driveway, Patio, Paths) at my property. Very professional and experienced outfit. Gary and Rick kept me informed of progress. Always left the site tidy at conclusion of each day. Work carried out was of the highest quality. Recommended.

Is the fourth time I have used Balance (for a variety of jobs - large and small). Toilet and cistern which were in a confined space were replaced efficiently and effectively, thank you.

I contacted Balance & Company through Which? Trusted Trader recommended builders section. They were very quick to visit our house & after surveying our bathroom, made their valuable recommendations as to what we could achieve. They soon provided us with a detailed quotation, fully costed & approximate timeframe for the work to be done. Everything has been carried out as planned, along with a few minor changes that we asked for during the fitting. There were no changes to the costs involved & their workmen were clean & tidy, respectful of our home. We would thoroughly recommend them to anyone who may be considering using them for any building work.

Balance and Company did some fairly extensive renovations on my c19th house, replacing all front windows including bay, restoring cills and original cast iron columns, removing and replacing render to the front and gable wall of the house, installing several heli-bars in the brickwork, improving drainage around the front and side of the house, replacing plaster in exterior walls of an upstairs bedroom with drywall, and completing interior and exterior decorating. My experience with Gary was excellent from the start. Having worked for decades on houses like mine, he knew from a structural point of view what to expect when the plaster and render came off, so he was able to provide me with an extremely detailed quote that covered all of the possible problems we might encounter. This allowed me to cost various options sensibly, and the build came in precisely on budget! On a build this complex, invariably some issues will arise, but anything that did come up was dealt with swiftly and with no fuss. His team, many of whom have been with him for years, were cheerful, trustworthy, and respectful of my home. When a manufacturing defect caused a small problem with one of the upstairs windows months after the build was complete, Gary sent someone round to sort it out at no cost to me. The renovations have transformed the house. I'm delighted, and can't recommend Gary and his team highly enough.

I have just had my 2 bedroomed flat fully redecorated including en-suite, bathroom & long hall. Was totally impressed by everything - turning up on time to quote for job & quote by email received following day. The date was agreed & a very helpful decorator turned up to do the job & completed it in the time given - no mean feat as the building lift was out of order during the duration & as I am on 3rd floor meant a lot of carrying up & down. He was excellent all round moving furniture & taking curtains up & down as well as fixing two nasty cracks in the wall & doing an excellent job of the painting.

The whole team from start to finish were a joy to do business with. We knew exactly what we wanted and everything was agreed upfront before they started. Our bathroom my most houses it’s quiet small but we had big ideas to make this a luxury bathroom on a small budget. We were given alternative ideas and the fact we were ordering our suite from another supplier didn’t faze them at all, they just worked around the delivery times. Hayden arrived and although young in appearance worked like a steam train on full chat, he never stopped except to have the occasional drink. He was extremely respectful , helpful and a delight to have around what he did on any given day mattered. Tidiness was a key word for him. The plastering and pipe re-routing, and ceiling re-modelling was done by Haydon & Chas & Dave (gercha) yes I know but these guys were very entertaining and just so professional and tidy. Nothing was too much trouble they answered my questions and when I ordered the wrong toilet they explained why and help me obtain the wrong one which was cheaper than the one I had previously ordered. The whole job from start to finish was done in the most professional way extremely tidy and knowledgeable team. I recommend this company wholeheartedly.

We needed a repair to a rainwater gully and drain. We also required new garden fencing, including digging up existing bushes etc. We agreed the quote, the team arrived as scheduled, completed the work in 1 day, left the site clean and tidy. The materials used were good quality. Very pleased with the result. Would definitely use them again.

We had a number of smaller building jobs across the house an outside (summer house), but Gary was happy to accommodate some very specific requirements over an undefined time frame. All the work was done without fuss, to a highly professional standard and each location was left clean and tidy.

I have been a very satisfied customer of Balance and Company for a number of years. They have carried out a variety of jobs for me ranging from the small to the large. The last work they completed for me was to paint the outside of my house. They are always very knowledgeable and helpful, provide detailed estimates and the finished work meets a consistently high standard.

We hired this company to carry out repairs to our leaking roof. The workmen were punctual, efficient and friendly. They completed the job in hand to our entire satisfaction, leaving us with a water tight roof.

I found Balance and Co on Which after having a couple of builder horror stories. I have to say we were delighted with the high quality work in our spare room. We had to have a ceiling removed and replaced and all 4 walls had to cut back and replaced. Old windows removed and replaced. The guys were very friendly and punctual. They worked extremely hard. When we came across extra work to be done. Gary was very good at explaining what needed to be done and got our agreement before work went ahead. After the initial job we asked if they could decorate as well. Gary worked very hard to get the his team to do this especially as this job was not scheduled for. Definitely recommend them .

1 Apex wall externally repainted, 1 Chimney repointed, 1 small flat roof refelted including new decking , both chaps worked extremely hard on above jobs over approx 3 days, knew what they were doing, with Gary the owner as usual popping over to see that all was ok. No mess left once work completed. I have used this Company many times before and can definitely recommend this company for workmanship and customer care.

We had a house fire causing heat damage and a lot of smoke damage. Gary assessed the damage and provided a very clear explanation of the work that would be required, and produced a detailed and competitive quote for the proposed works that was accepted by the insurance company. The work was to fill in the inspection pit that had partially collapsed. They professionally reviewed the damaged pit and detailed the required work (draining the pit, filling it with hardcore and topping with concrete). The work was carried out in a professional manner and the site was left tidy. The staff were amiable and fitted into our situation. This was the second time that we had used them and were not disappointed.

The work was carried out in a professional and efficient manner, the builders were competent and friendly, and the site was left in a tidy condition when the job was completed. I contacted Gary about a potentially tricky job of replacing a wooden wall plate above my kitchen window which was thoroughly rotten. Gary assessed the job and told me what to expect from the start. His team were polite and courteous, pin-pointed exactly what needed doing (we weren't 100% sure of what to expect until facia and tiles had been removed) and completed the job professionally (taking photo's from start to finish). Can highly recommend.

We have used this Company from approx 2018 initially 1 new floor (I could see the air bricks from inside, as floor had dropped ). His knowledge and straight talking put my mind at rest now recently 2 x New Floors, Electrical works, Room decoration, External work to house and just recently 1 x large flat roof re felted. This company has never let us down. All of his workmen very polite, know their stuff. Are on time. Always tidy up after works completed. We have never had any issues with work carried out. After using him for first time, he said any problems after work carried out, is his problem not ours!! Would definitely recommend his Company. Brilliant.
