Poor communication and endless delays

My experience with Bally Kelly was characterised by poor communication, weak project management, avoidable delays, unexpected costs, damage to my property and serious privacy concerns. Save for the ‘foreman’ and unskilled labourers, all work was subcontracted out with no one from BallyKelly regularly on site. Work was carried out on an intermittent basis with communication lacking leading to mistakes. A camera was placed in my home without my knowledge and programmed to take photographs of the building progress for social media content. The camera was only removed when I became aware of its existence. Instructing Bally Kelly is not an experience I would wish to repeat and, based on my experience I would not recommend them to others.

We are disappointed to read this review as we do not believe it fairly reflects the project. You refer to poor communication, weak project management, delays and unexpected costs. This refurbishment involved unforeseen issues discovered once the existing structure was opened up, together with additional works and variations instructed during the build. These matters were discussed throughout the project and administered through a formal variation process. Communication took place on site, via email and through a dedicated WhatsApp group. I was disappointed to read your comments regarding communication, as I was not made aware during the project that you felt further updates were required. You also refer to work being carried out on an intermittent basis. Specialist subcontractors were engaged where appropriate and works progressed throughout the construction phase, with trades attending as required. Attendance only became less frequent during the final snagging phase once practical completion, with only minor snagging items remaining, had been achieved in approximately 10.5 weeks. You also refer to privacy concerns. The device in question was a visible construction time-lapse camera installed within the active construction area for the purpose of recording building progress. All footage was provided when concerns were raised and the camera removed. Whilst we respect your right to express your views, we do not believe this review reflects the full history of the project.
