I can only recommend this company, Chris and his team demonstrated great professionalism and was able to adapt to our problems and changes in moving dates. We are currently in a rental because we plan to build a house and I know I will reuse their services for our next move.

Barleycorn Removals handled our full house move from Oxfordshire to Perthshire, Scotland - over 400 miles including all our belongings, dismantling and reassembling furniture, and taking special care with items like fine china and a Tiffany lamp. The move was completed exactly to the agreed schedule over three days (19th-21st July) and came in slightly cheaper than the original estimate, which was a pleasant surprise. From the initial quote and home visit, Barleycorn were professional and thorough. What really set them apart was their flexibility - they were the only removal company who agreed to move us to Scotland on a Sunday, which was crucial for our timing. Max and Reece, who handled our move, were exceptional - super helpful, incredibly efficient, and genuinely friendly throughout. Their communication was excellent, and they took great care with all our possessions. The whole process was meticulously planned and executed perfectly. On every level dealing with Barleycorn has been brilliant. Moving area completely is always difficult but this was made so much easier with the service we received. Telephone calls answered promptly and efficiently by Ellie, the owner Chris never failed to return calls and deal with any queries professionally and speedily and the removal guys were cheerful, helpful and on the ball. Impossible to fault this company.

Chris and his team were thorough and very professional, very flexible and considerate with our needs as it was a short turnaround over the easter period. They went above and beyond to help us with a smooth transition from one property to our storage facility. The whole team were very happy which is a sign of good leadership and management. it was an incredibly hot time during the move, and not one of the team complained or moaned, they just got on with the job in hand with courteous professionalism. I always use Barley Corn when I have to move anything too big for my car or too heavy for me to lift. Over the years I have moved house with them 4 times and used them for dozens of smaller jobs, distributing furniture to friends and family all over the place. I have always found Chris Cox very helpful and considerate and he always provides great value for money. My last move was especially complicated; we needed to pack up a 4 bedroom house and distribute the furniture to both a storage unit and a new rental home which were 80 miles away. The team was so energetic, friendly, and helpful. The contents of the house were packed into the storage unit with impressive expertise, and then the team tirelessly drove to the rental property and unpacked what was left. Setting up the beds on some very uneven floor boards and making sure the drawers under the bed could still open took skill and patience, which I really appreciated. The whole team was great, helping us to arrange the furniture in all the right places before driving the 80 miles back. It must have been a very long day for them. I feel very lucky to have found Chris Cox and Barley Corn. It is a wonderful firm and I would heartily recommend them.

Barleycorn and the team made the process very smooth and slick. They turned up on both days exactly at the time planned and worked efficiently. We were guided through the packing process and they made us feel at ease.

I just wanted to say what a great team Barleycorn has. We are having building work done so we had to move everything out of the ground floor into long term storage. They were incredibly efficient and worked well on the different tasks; for example, straight after arrival Trevor was on kitchen, Tom on furniture and Ben on books. They finished the task within 4 hours. They were also fun to work with. I also want to point out how clean and shiny their lorries are. Very smart. Very professional. I think this makes a real difference as it helps with brand recognition and reassurance for potential new customers. I would be very happy to recommend them to anyone. They have carried out lots of moves in the village so clearly they have a good reputation as an excellent local company.

We used Barleycorn to move a 4 bed house and garage from Oxfordshire to South Wales, including a fragile pack over 3 days. The level of service, hard work, and politeness from this company was outstanding, and they made the move very easy. The speed with which they packed the house was frankly astonishing. In some cases, where we'd not quite finished packing some items, they did this for us without issue. I'd recommend this service to anyone looking for removals services.

We exchanged and completed on the same day. Chris and his crew helped take the stress out of that day They were patient and reassuring. It all ran pretty late but they did a lot of unpacking that day and finished off the next day. They were all very kind and did an amazing job. I would fully recommend Barleycorn.

Barleycorn were wonderful through the whole moving process. They gave us a prompt visit to quote for the removal of my daughters possessions from 3 rooms in the house and garage and the quote arrived quickly. They coped cheerfully with the removal date changing several times. On the moving date they arrived promptly, and were shown what needed moving from each of the room, laid out mats to keep the floor clean, and were very quickly packing and removing things to the van. They double checked on any item they were unsure was going, as none of the rooms were being completely cleared and they were soon ready to set off. We were moving into a second floor flat that involved either 2 flights of stairs or a lift and corridors, plus security and fire doors. One of the 3 men had to stay with the van as it was on the road, and we needed one of us in the flat, and one dealing with doors. The removal men were cheerful and quick with what must have been a very longwinded moving in, due to the stairs and corridors. Very quick. tidy, careful and helpful. Thoroughly recommended

Chris and his team moved us from Sonning Common to Kingston Bagpuize in April 2024. They packed everything for us over a couple of days and were incredibly thorough. The guys made sure they asked us what needed packing and what didn’t. They were really pleasant and extremely helpful. This company was recommended to us and we can see why as they were really very professional. We would also say that they removed furniture we were not taking with us, which will go to auction and proceeds given to a homeless charity👍. We would and have already recommended them to others. The cost was around £5600 for clearance of furniture and for packing and removal to new property.

We used Barleycorn to move house over Easter. The crew were great - really friendly, respectful, and asked questions if they were unsure of everything. They took great care in making sure everything was packed properly and the move went incredibly smoothly. They were also really flexible about picking up the empty boxes after we had unpacked and came round twice to do a collection. I highly recommend Barleycorn. They made what could have been a stressful experience an easy experience.

Moving is such a stressful time and I was dreading it, I can honestly say not only was the move smooth, efficient and unstressful, I actually enjoyed the process. A friendly local firm who were efficient and courteous. The team arrived on time and carried out the removal to our complete satisfaction. We moved into a brand new build house and protective coverings were placed on all the carpeting whilst the team were working. We are more than happy to recommend this firm.

We are very happy with Barleycorn Removals and recommend them highly. We had a big house and they spent three days packing everything professionally. They then moved us four hours away and spent a total of four days unloading and also unpacking the big pieces of furniture. We used Barleycorn's pack and move service, they packed everything up and moved it all to our new property over a period of two days. Absolutely brilliant service! Friendly and helpful team, nothing broken, everything completed on time -actually finished early on the final day! Price extremely reasonable and completely transparant about what the quotation included. Previous moves we have done everything ourselves, honestly couldnt have done it without them this time due to being pregnant with small kids to watch and no leave possible from work. I would definitely use them again in a heartbeat if moving and highly recommend them. You should definitely use this company.

Used Barleycorn for a full pack and removal service. They were great; all the guys were friendly and helpful and happily accomodated delays to the completion which meant the offloading went late in to a Friday evening. Would have no hesitation using them again, if we ever move again!

We used Barleycorn in August to move us from Oxfordshire to Devon and we could not fault the team at all! We had an issue with our move date and they kept our spot until we could finalise it all. We decided to use the pack and move package and we are so glad we did! They arrived as arranged on the Tuesday morning talked through everything made sure we were happy and where we wanted them to start. The just got on with it. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They returned on the Wednesday to finish packing and loaded everything on to the lorry. When we arrived at the new house they unloaded as much as they could, they set up the beds, sofa’s made sure we had everything we needed to be getting on with for that day. They returned the next morning to unload the rest. Again nothing was too much trouble and it was a blisteringly hot day! I would absolutely recommend Barleycorn and have done so already! John, Luke and Ashley were our team and they were fab! Should we ever need to move again we wouldn’t hesitate in contacting them again.

We recently moved house in Oxford and used Barleycorn for a full pack and move service. They were excellent from start to finish. They came to quote promptly, offered a fair price compared to other local quotes and booking was straightforward and flexible. Communication was great throughout the process. The movers themselves were really friendly and polite and took great care of our belongings. They were punctual, the packing time had been estimated correctly and there were no unexpected problems or hidden charges. Nothing was damaged, they reassembled the furniture in the new house, and didn't complain at all about a difficult staircase they had to carry a heavy king-sized mattress up. They also came back promptly to collect all the empty boxes and packing materials. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

The staff gave me service that exceeded expectations. Parking restrictions at the house meant 70+ cardboard boxes and wooden crates had to be offloaded and manually carried 60 metres in the rain. They overcame space restrictions in the house without complaining. Helpful and polite at all times. I have no hesitation in recommending Barleycorn for house removal

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Barleycorn Removals .Chris was informative and communicated well. On the moving day , the removal men were very quick and careful with our belongings. When the move didn’t go as expected, and we had to wait a number of hours , they were reassuring and calm throughout. Although we were late getting into our new property, we never felt rushed and the team went above and beyond to help us settle in.

From the first visit made to assess the contents for a quote to the final moments of moving day, Barleycorn provided friendly, efficient, careful and patient service. The team of movers worked incredibly quickly and with a great sense of humour. My move covered 130 miles and there was a delay in getting the key so the team had to wait outside the property and then work fast to unload everything so they could get back home in reasonable time at the end of a long day. They did not complain and were unfailingly helpful and good humoured despite there being some extremely heavy and awkward items as well as many that were fragile. Great care was taken to keep everything clean throughout. I can highly recommend Chris and his team.
