I can only recommend this company, Chris and his team demonstrated great professionalism and was able to adapt to our problems and changes in moving dates. We are currently in a rental because we plan to build a house and I know I will reuse their services for our next move.

Barleycorn Removals handled our full house move from Oxfordshire to Perthshire, Scotland - over 400 miles including all our belongings, dismantling and reassembling furniture, and taking special care with items like fine china and a Tiffany lamp. The move was completed exactly to the agreed schedule over three days (19th-21st July) and came in slightly cheaper than the original estimate, which was a pleasant surprise. From the initial quote and home visit, Barleycorn were professional and thorough. What really set them apart was their flexibility - they were the only removal company who agreed to move us to Scotland on a Sunday, which was crucial for our timing. Max and Reece, who handled our move, were exceptional - super helpful, incredibly efficient, and genuinely friendly throughout. Their communication was excellent, and they took great care with all our possessions. The whole process was meticulously planned and executed perfectly. On every level dealing with Barleycorn has been brilliant. Moving area completely is always difficult but this was made so much easier with the service we received. Telephone calls answered promptly and efficiently by Ellie, the owner Chris never failed to return calls and deal with any queries professionally and speedily and the removal guys were cheerful, helpful and on the ball. Chris and his team were thorough and very professional, very flexible and considerate with our needs as it was a short turnaround over the easter period. They went above and beyond to help us with a smooth transition from one property to our storage facility. The whole team were very happy which is a sign of good leadership and management. it was an incredibly hot time during the move, and not one of the team complained or moaned, they just got on with the job in hand with courteous professionalism. I always use Barley Corn when I have to move anything too big for my car or too heavy for me to lift. Over the years I have moved house with them 4 times and used them for dozens of smaller jobs, distributing furniture to friends and family all over the place. I have always found Chris Cox very helpful and considerate and he always provides great value for money. My last move was especially complicated; we needed to pack up a 4 bedroom house and distribute the furniture to both a storage unit and a new rental home which were 80 miles away. The team was so energetic, friendly, and helpful. The contents of the house were packed into the storage unit with impressive expertise, and then the team tirelessly drove to the rental property and unpacked what was left. Setting up the beds on some very uneven floor boards and making sure the drawers under the bed could still open took skill and patience, which I really appreciated. The whole team was great, helping us to arrange the furniture in all the right places before driving the 80 miles back. It must have been a very long day for them. I feel very lucky to have found Chris Cox and Barley Corn. It is a wonderful firm and I would heartily recommend them.

Barleycorn and the team made the process very smooth and slick. They turned up on both days exactly at the time planned and worked efficiently. We were guided through the packing process and they made us feel at ease.

I just wanted to say what a great team Barleycorn has. We are having building work done so we had to move everything out of the ground floor into long term storage. They were incredibly efficient and worked well on the different tasks; for example, straight after arrival Trevor was on kitchen, Tom on furniture and Ben on books. They finished the task within 4 hours. They were also fun to work with. I also want to point out how clean and shiny their lorries are. Very smart. Very professional. I think this makes a real difference as it helps with brand recognition and reassurance for potential new customers. I would be very happy to recommend them to anyone. They have carried out lots of moves in the village so clearly they have a good reputation as an excellent local company.

We used Barleycorn to move a 4 bed house and garage from Oxfordshire to South Wales, including a fragile pack over 3 days. The level of service, hard work, and politeness from this company was outstanding, and they made the move very easy. The speed with which they packed the house was frankly astonishing. In some cases, where we'd not quite finished packing some items, they did this for us without issue. I'd recommend this service to anyone looking for removals services.
