This is the second time we have used Barleycorn for a move; the previous was just over ten years ago. Their performance on both occasions was faultless. Our process of buying and selling this time was very prolonged, with three false starts where the process was delayed at the last minute on each occasion. We originally advised Barleycorn we anticipated moving in November, but we finally moved in March. Hence we advised three dates of our move to Barleycorn, with two cancelled at the last minute. Each time, Barleycorn were most helpful in agreeing on a mutual date for our pending move. Finally, the move. Our goods and chattels were carefully packed with great care and placed in a number of storage crates and the house was cleared on the completion date in plenty of time. Our goods were placed in storage while we prepared our new home in a village with restricted access. Chris pre-visited and delivery was successfully completed very smoothly and with minimum disturbance to our new neighbours or us. Barleycorn's quote was not the cheapest but the service enabled us to have a very relaxed and easy move, making it more than worth the slight additional cost.

From the moment we met Chris at Barleycorn to discuss a major house move, we had confidence in him & his team. Chris highlighted items requiring key consideration & care and he and his team spent two days beforehand packing & loading to ensure we were ready to leave in good time, for what was a lengthy journey over land & sea. On arrival Chris coordinated the unload using a local firm, again ensuring care & attention. Chris was very professional from the outset and appreciated I had an elderly relative to consider during the move. Our decision to use Barleycorn was made on his removal arrangements, flexibility, empathy and efficiency in answering any questions by his office. During the removal from our Oxon property great care was taken with certain "special" artefacts and pieces of furniture which I had pointed out as having great sentimental value to me and all arrived at our Gloucestershire address in tact and without blemish. Chris and all of his team were exceptional with their efficiency, friendliness and work ethic and I can only say how glad I was that we had used Barleycorn for our move and would highly recommend them.

Barleycorn Removals handled our full house move from Oxfordshire to Perthshire, Scotland - over 400 miles including all our belongings, dismantling and reassembling furniture, and taking special care with items like fine china and a Tiffany lamp. The move was completed exactly to the agreed schedule over three days (19th-21st July) and came in slightly cheaper than the original estimate, which was a pleasant surprise. From the initial quote and home visit, Barleycorn were professional and thorough. What really set them apart was their flexibility - they were the only removal company who agreed to move us to Scotland on a Sunday, which was crucial for our timing. Max and Reece, who handled our move, were exceptional - super helpful, incredibly efficient, and genuinely friendly throughout. Their communication was excellent, and they took great care with all our possessions. The whole process was meticulously planned and executed perfectly. On every level dealing with Barleycorn has been brilliant. Moving area completely is always difficult but this was made so much easier with the service we received. Telephone calls answered promptly and efficiently by Ellie, the owner Chris never failed to return calls and deal with any queries professionally and speedily and the removal guys were cheerful, helpful and on the ball. Chris and his team were thorough and very professional, very flexible and considerate with our needs as it was a short turnaround over the easter period. They went above and beyond to help us with a smooth transition from one property to our storage facility. I always use Barley Corn when I have to move anything too big for my car or too heavy for me to lift. Over the years I have moved house with them 4 times and used them for dozens of smaller jobs, distributing furniture to friends and family all over the place. I have always found Chris Cox very helpful and considerate and he always provides great value for money. My last move was especially complicated; we needed to pack up a 4 bedroom house and distribute the furniture to both a storage unit and a new rental home which were 80 miles away. The team was so energetic, friendly, and helpful. The contents of the house were packed into the storage unit with impressive expertise, and then the team tirelessly drove to the rental property and unpacked what was left. Setting up the beds on some very uneven floor boards and making sure the drawers under the bed could still open took skill and patience, which I really appreciated. The whole team was great, helping us to arrange the furniture in all the right places before driving the 80 miles back. It must have been a very long day for them. I feel very lucky to have found Chris Cox and Barley Corn. It is a wonderful firm and I would heartily recommend them.
