Chris was able to help us out with packing & removal service when we had just 10 days notice of our move. He came the same day as my call to do a survey & I had the quote by 9am the next morning. The rates were comparable & given our unique situation, he even built in a buffer to the quote in case our move went over 2 days so we knew what the extra day would cost if required. The team he sent were friendly, polite & super efficient - they also had great senses of humour & were a joy to have in the house. With a toddler & a newborn, we were fairly disorganised but they worked around us, guiding us on what essentials we needed for our last night & were back bright & early the next day to pack the final bits & move us. They bought an extra team member in for the afternoon to help with unloading and putting the beds back together & had us unpacked within 2 hours of getting the keys to the property. And in a bid to reduce our carbon footprint, Chris also arranged for one his team to come back & collect the boxes and paper once we'd unpacked 90% of our boxes. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chris & his team to anyone who needs a packing & / or removals. Absolutely first class service. Thanks for making our move that little bit less stressful!

Professional, courteous, careful, efficient, helpful. Chris and his team were just magnificent. We moved our household items to store and then delivered to new home a week later. Nothing was too much trouble. No breakages as all packed with great care. Price was competitive but outstanding given the service we got. Highly recommended and will certainly use in future.

Absolutely amazing team of movers, best I have ever come across (and I've moved several times!). Chris really knows his stuff, and his various teams of packers and movers are outstanding. All of them were polite, friendly, professional and organised. All our items were carefully packed and loaded onto the van, and on the other side they took the time to make sure all boxes and items were where we wanted them (rather than a dump and run). Even better they were great value. Honestly, if you can, use these guys, you won't be disappointed.

We used Barleycorn to move us from a larger house to a smaller house, which requires work in the future. This meant that our furniture and possessions had to go in three directions - to the new house immediately, into storage for later transfer to the new house , into separate storage for transfer to another location. Chris Cox, the head of the company, visited, explained the best way to do this and prepared quotes. Barleycorn arranged not only the move but the storage and all of this calmly, courteously, very efficiently and with good humour. Dean and his team packed and removed everything going into storage on Day 1. On Day 2 they came back and moved us and remaining furniture into our new house. They were very responsive to all requests to mark up boxes etc and also taking things to the right room in the new house. More valuable and delicate possessions and furniture were properly packed and protected. Emails and phone calls were always answered promptly We feel we had a very personal service and thoroughly recommend this removal company

Pre-sales were friendly and fitted us in during the busy end-of-stamp duty time. They were incredibly good value. They clearly quoted on what we needed & explained what was and wasn’t included. The moving guys were incredible. Strong, fast and respectful. Thanks a lot.

We chose Barleycorn having received quotes from several companies since they were competitively priced and came across as knowledgeable and experienced. We were moving from Ascot into storage, to then be delivered to Broadstairs in Kent once the new house was available. Chris and his team were brilliant to deal with, everything ran like clockwork. They are a super-professional outfit, very careful with your house and possessions, and incredibly quick and efficient in moving everything. We wanted to pack ourselves, so they included a good range of boxes & packing material in the quote. They took apart the big furniture and reassembled the other end. They were careful to make sure everything was where we wanted, and nothing was lost or damaged in the extended process. The team were amazing in manoeuvring furniture through stairs and doorways that I didn’t think would be possible. On top of all that they were all very friendly and helpful. We really couldn't have asked for more and highly recommend them to anyone moving house, they really took the stress out of it. First-class business and service.

Barleycorn impressed us from beginning to end, putting us at ease at the time of quotation and seeing the job through to the end. Chris was amazing and the team were experienced, polite and good-humoured despite terrible weather and awful traffic. We were called Sir/Madam all day and didn’t hear even one swear word from any of the crew. Sounds silly, but this was brilliant for my children and we all felt safe and looked after during what was otherwise a lot of upheavals. The team respected our property and our belongings and went above and beyond to take care with our move. The packing service was super efficient too and I can’t recommend them highly enough.
