Chris was able to help us out with packing & removal service when we had just 10 days notice of our move. He came the same day as my call to do a survey & I had the quote by 9am the next morning. The rates were comparable & given our unique situation, he even built in a buffer to the quote in case our move went over 2 days so we knew what the extra day would cost if required. The team he sent were friendly, polite & super efficient - they also had great senses of humour & were a joy to have in the house. With a toddler & a newborn, we were fairly disorganised but they worked around us, guiding us on what essentials we needed for our last night & were back bright & early the next day to pack the final bits & move us. They bought an extra team member in for the afternoon to help with unloading and putting the beds back together & had us unpacked within 2 hours of getting the keys to the property. And in a bid to reduce our carbon footprint, Chris also arranged for one his team to come back & collect the boxes and paper once we'd unpacked 90% of our boxes. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chris & his team to anyone who needs a packing & / or removals. Absolutely first class service. Thanks for making our move that little bit less stressful!

Professional, courteous, careful, efficient, helpful. Chris and his team were just magnificent. We moved our household items to store and then delivered to new home a week later. Nothing was too much trouble. No breakages as all packed with great care. Price was competitive but outstanding given the service we got. Highly recommended and will certainly use in future.

Absolutely amazing team of movers, best I have ever come across (and I've moved several times!). Chris really knows his stuff, and his various teams of packers and movers are outstanding. All of them were polite, friendly, professional and organised. All our items were carefully packed and loaded onto the van, and on the other side they took the time to make sure all boxes and items were where we wanted them (rather than a dump and run). Even better they were great value. Honestly, if you can, use these guys, you won't be disappointed.

We used Barleycorn to move us from a larger house to a smaller house, which requires work in the future. This meant that our furniture and possessions had to go in three directions - to the new house immediately, into storage for later transfer to the new house , into separate storage for transfer to another location. Chris Cox, the head of the company, visited, explained the best way to do this and prepared quotes. Barleycorn arranged not only the move but the storage and all of this calmly, courteously, very efficiently and with good humour. Dean and his team packed and removed everything going into storage on Day 1. On Day 2 they came back and moved us and remaining furniture into our new house. They were very responsive to all requests to mark up boxes etc and also taking things to the right room in the new house. More valuable and delicate possessions and furniture were properly packed and protected. Emails and phone calls were always answered promptly We feel we had a very personal service and thoroughly recommend this removal company

We chose Barleycorn having received quotes from several companies since they were competitively priced and came across as knowledgeable and experienced. We were moving from Ascot into storage, to then be delivered to Broadstairs in Kent once the new house was available. Chris and his team were brilliant to deal with, everything ran like clockwork. They are a super-professional outfit, very careful with your house and possessions, and incredibly quick and efficient in moving everything. We wanted to pack ourselves, so they included a good range of boxes & packing material in the quote. They took apart the big furniture and reassembled the other end. They were careful to make sure everything was where we wanted, and nothing was lost or damaged in the extended process. The team were amazing in manoeuvring furniture through stairs and doorways that I didn’t think would be possible. On top of all that they were all very friendly and helpful. We really couldn't have asked for more and highly recommend them to anyone moving house, they really took the stress out of it. First-class business and service.

Barleycorn impressed us from beginning to end, putting us at ease at the time of quotation and seeing the job through to the end. Chris was amazing and the team were experienced, polite and good-humoured despite terrible weather and awful traffic. We were called Sir/Madam all day and didn’t hear even one swear word from any of the crew. Sounds silly, but this was brilliant for my children and we all felt safe and looked after during what was otherwise a lot of upheavals. The team respected our property and our belongings and went above and beyond to take care with our move. The packing service was super efficient too and I can’t recommend them highly enough.

I can honestly say that using Barleycorn removals for my recent move was the best decision we could have made. Chris and his team provided a highly professional and conscientious service and were a pleasure to spend time with in what turned into a 2 day job with one person returning for a third day to finish off, due to unforeseen difficulties fitting furniture in our new home. They took good care of our properties - old & new. And when a previous house sale and purchase fell through Chris was flexible and understanding with various plan changes and a cancellation. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We have used Barleycorn twice to move house and the quality of their work has been exceptional. Key things to flag: 1. Their customer service is fantastic. They provided a personalised quote and showed care and diligence to ensure the quote was balanced and fair. 2. They arrived on-time and finished the work as planned. They even came back and moved a piano without charge as we were unable to move this ourselves. 3. All the team were very friendly, supportive and very careful. They took care not to make any damage, and worked exceptionally as a team. You could tell they enjoyed working with each other. 4. They put the customer first - they asked when worked best for us, rather than do it based on their availability, and were able to fit us in around existing work. The cost was very good value for money, and compared with other firms I have used, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. One of the very exceptional firms I have come across.

Chris and his team were superb. From the moment we met Chris, he was professional and assured in meeting our move requirements . On the day, he and his team took very good care of our possessions. We had a long delay due to banking transactions. Chris was patient and when we were able to move in, his team were brilliant despite the late hour after a long day. Highly recommended.

Barleycorn Removals sorted out my move impeccably. They packed up everything, stored it for 4 weeks and delivered it to my new address without any hitches at all. The team involved were courteous and extremely well-mannered throughout and took huge care with everything. So far only one thing has been broken and that was me dropping a cup on a tiled floor. Barleycorn provided outstanding service in packing up my house, transporting everything and ensuring beds were built for the first night in the new home, then collecting the remainder from storage the following day, & building wardrobes. Definitely get a quote from Barleycorn. Competitively priced. What stands out is they genuinely do a good job from that first phone call to tidying up when they’ve finished. Barleycorn’s Chris Cox knows what he’s talking about and the team behind him took great care of our belongings and also the walls and floors. We moved from an upstairs flat with no lift to a townhouse with the lounge on the first floor. An expensive exercise bike, leather sofa, piano and large mirrors were among the items carefully moved. Worked round our dog too. Good communication and great customer service.
