Ben Thwaite High Class Painter and Decorator

Ben was recommended to me by a work colleague after I had a disappointing experience with another contractor who did a poor plastering job. Ben came over to assess the defective work and explained that he often has to fix issues caused by rogue traders in the market. After discussing the project, we agreed on a fair price and a timeline. Ben was very prompt in starting the job. He took great care to protect the surrounding areas and then got to work with some heavy-duty sanding and filling. I was particularly impressed with the high-quality tools Ben used, including a Festool orbital sander connected to a Festool vacuum, which helped prevent any dust in the environment. After the filling and sanding process, Ben applied lining paper to the walls and ceilings. He then meticulously hung patterned paper, carefully scribing it to a stone wall, and painted the remaining areas with matt emulsion. Finally, he sealed the walls, which was necessary for the bathroom environment. Ben's work is first class, and I will definitely be using his services in other areas of our home. He was always polite, punctual, and a pleasure to have working in our home. I have no hesitation in recommending Ben to others and look forward to utilizing his services in the future.

We have used Ben to paint or wallpaper most of the rooms in our house, we have a detached 3 bed bungalow and Ben has transformed the decorating over the years. He is always punctual and does a great job and also advises us on colours and designs. We will always come back to Ben if we need any decorating needs in the future and have also recommended him to friends.

Ben has probably decorated every room in our house. This time it was the hallway. He always arrives on time, tidies up and wallpapers and paints beautifully. He’s friendly, polite and gets on with the job. Highly recommended.

Our small spare room has always been a junk room/cat basecamp. Since 2020 my partner has been working from home most days and so our shared office wasn't big enough for his extra kit and me. The plan was to make the spare room into my office/art room but when we saw how broken up the old plaster was we realised we didn't have the skills to finish it ourselves. We found Ben pretty quickly through Which. He swooped in and had the plaster repaired, the cracks filled and the room papered and painted in three days. Ben was professional and friendly throughout and we look forward to working with him again. I'm still in the process of sorting out and moving in but I've been working in the room for the past week and it's been great.

From the first point of contact with Ben I found him to be friendly, approachable and professional . Work arranged: Main bedroom ,office, hall/stairs/landing,kitchen. He arrived promptly each day, each area was tidied as much as was possible prior to leaving for the evening. He scheduled the work and kept to the arrangements. I was blown away on realising he had re hung my bedroom curtains on completion of that room ( wow) Quite honestly, Ben has been like finding that Fabulous Restaurant that you really don’t want to share in case you struggle to get a table! “ High Class “ indeed

Ben did an excellent job stripping & redecorating 2 rooms for us, including addressing some unforeseen issues on stripping away the old wallpaper. He and his mate were punctual, hard-working, and very friendly. We have used them before, and if the need arises in the future we will definitely use them again.

Ben prepared and painted the ceiling of our recently refurbished large conservatory. We are extremely happy with the job. His work is to a very high standard with attention to detail and he uses top quality paint products that give a lovely professional finish. Ben was very approachable with a polite friendly professional attitude as well being reliable and on time. The flooring and any furniture was well protected with dust sheets and everything was cleaned up after the job.
