Gary designed and built bespoke alcove cabinets with floating shelves in our dining room/lounge. Once he had finished, he also agreed to fit some new door knobs where door handles had previously been. Gary was always on time and an extremely hardworking, skilled professional. He completed the work carefully but also to schedule and on budget. We were so impressed by Gary's attention to detail and problem solving skills, as well as his talent at so perfectly fitting the cabinets and shelving into our very uneven, Victorian alcoves. The finished woodwork looks beautiful. He obviously takes pride in his work and it shows in everything he does. Gary was wonderful at communicating with us over every detail. He constantly hoovered up as he went along and carefully tidied up at the end of each day, especially before the weekends when he left our lounge is such a clean condition that our family could watch tv on the sofa without any trace of sawdust or evidence of all the work that had been taking place there during the week. Gary was an incredibly considerate person to have around the house and a lovely person to have a chat with. He was always happy to give helpful advice about where best to buy cabinet knobs or any other questions that we had. We have already highly recommended Gary to several of our friends and will certainly be contacting him again in the future for help with other various projects. Thank you Gary!

Gary did a great job fitting a new sliding door for us. There were a number of complications with the job including that we wanted the original doorframe left in place and the new door to slide in front of it. He took it all in his stride and communicated well throughout the door installation, explaining each problem and solution as he went along. The finish was perfect, even down to filing down the rail the door slides on so there was no risk of it catching or jumping. Gary also added a groove on the bottom of the door to keep it sliding in the correct position. The quote was agreed before hand and there were no surprise extra costs. We have previously had problems getting somebody to take on the job so we were very happy when Garry agreed to do the job and turned up on the day arranged with no issues. We would heartily recommend him again and no doubt we will call him again if we need anything else doing!

We have been refurbishing our Victorian terraced house and wanted built-in cupboards and bookshelves in our lounge and dining room and new storage under the stairs. One of the other quotes we had was cheaper but we could tell that as a local trader Gary understood what would work in our type of house (where nothing is entirely straight or level) and he was easy to have sensible dialogue with about the best solutions. He stuck to the agreed budget, with no hidden extras. Gary took longer than we first expected but his meticulous work, very tidy and respectful approach and the amazing results are highly commendable.

Gary replaced our kitchen cupboard doors, drawer fronts and bottom plinths. He did a job that other tradesmen said couldn't be done as they only wanted to rip out the whole kitchen. Gary carried out the work required professionally and on budget, with no hidden costs. He worked on time, was reliable and cleaned up after he finished the job. We were very satisfied with Gary's carpentry work and I would not hesitate to call him again for another project, or to recommend him to others.

We wanted some shelves and large cupboards built in two alcoves and contacted Gary based on previous excellent reviews. Gary came up with some very helpful suggestions and took into account ideas we had to reduce any likelihood of damp behind the cupboards in the future. He built the cupboards in situ over a week and was quiet and very respectful of property, cleaning up as he went along. The final results are fantastic. Beautifully made and with great attention to detail.

We contracted Gary at BWS Carpentry to build an extensive run of cupboards and wardrobes into the eaves of our loft - a very tricky job to get right. Gary went over our ideas for the design in great detail with us before he started and offered some brilliant suggestions to help improve it. He has a real eye for detail and takes such care over his work, it never felt like he was rushing through it or taking any short cuts. He was respectful of our home and tidied up as he went along. Gary built and installed some wood paneling on the bottom half of my bedroom wall, and I'm very pleased with the end result. He was keen to ensure the design was exactly what I wanted by checking in with me regularly and it turned out perfectly. He is a very skilled carpenter, professional and hard working, with an excellent eye for detail, and he is keen to ensure a perfect result. The price was also very competitive. I highly recommend.

This was the second time Gary of BWS has done work for us. This time Gary built new cupboards under a staircase and installed new shelves in two other cupboards. As before all the work was of excellent quality. Helpful, professional, and on budget. Highly recommended.

I contacted Gary after reading the glowing reviews of his work on Which? Trusted Traders. He responded to my email request for a quote and arranged to come round very soon. I had an original Victorian door which I kept when the external doors to my flat were replaced by regulation fire doors, and I wanted it hung in a doorway in the flat where the door itself was missing. Gary came on time to give me the quote and was able to come and hang the door for me two days later, much sooner than I had expected. He did an excellent job, gave me some very helpful advice about redecorating the door myself and cleaned up very thoroughly. I couldn't ask for a better service or better result, and all at a very reasonable cost. I'd definitely use him again for carpentry work.

Gary from Bespoke Woodwork Services built a set of excellent bespoke wardrobes into our bedroom under the slanted eaves section and also a floor to ceiling storage cupboard in the alcove to the side of our fireplace. We are extremely happy with the quality and care taken over the work. Gary built the cupboards exactly to our design and his experience working in older properties with slightly uneven floors/walls/ceilings was very useful. Gary was reliable, respectful of our property and clearly took pride in his work. We received a number of quotes for the work and his was very competitive for the build and decorating, especially for the quality of the finish. Gary removed our old doors, made good the threshold, replaced the door stops and supplied a fitted 4 internal doors and new handles/locks as well as making a bespoke oak Cabinet over four days. Gary’s work and attention to detail is excellent, he ensured that we were consulted at each step and he gave us good advice. We are very pleased with the end result so we will definitely use his services in the future and we would highly recommend him to anyone.

I found BWS (bespoke woodwork services) through Which Trusted Traders Gary sorted out repairs to a heavy swing door in my kitchen. The door has a heavy hydraulic doorspring and I feared that the spring had to be replaced but Gary managed to do the repairs without an expensive replacement. He had also researched the mechanism in advance. What was scheduled as a two day job was finished within a day and was well priced. Gary was also reliable as to the date/time he came round for the quote and the day of the repairs. Highly recommended and I would happily use Gary again

Gary was recommended to my by my electrician and he did an absolutely spectacular job of fitting my new Howdens kitchen. I couldn’t be happier! My kitchen is an awkward shape with the units fitting around an old chimney breast. Right from the beginning, Gary’s attention to detail was impeccable. He advised on the design, double checking the Howdens measurements, and walking through how the kitchen would be installed to make sure it was actually possible to fit it in such an awkward space. He consulted me at each stage to make sure I was happy, and walked through any alterations with me in great detail. Gary also replaced my extractor fan ducting after we discovered the existing ducting was too narrow. He also designed custom housing for the extractor fan to sit inside the chimney breast alcove, complete with shelf to match my wooden worktops. I couldn’t be happier with my new kitchen. Gary was a pleasure to work with and his quality of workmanship is second to none. He clearly takes a lot of pride in his work! I will definitely use him again for future woodwork projects.

Gary built four book cases for us over a period of two weeks. He worked conscientiously, cleaned up after himself every evening and was a quiet and pleasant presence in the house - our children missed him when the work was finished! Gary arrived on time to assemble an outside storage shed. it was a fiddly job as the ground needed to be prepared first ( so it was level) and also the casing around our house cables needed to be unscrewed, shortened and lifted. I was impressed with how neatly the job was done and the shed fitted in snugly. He also kindly put up a curtain rail. He was courteous and willing and nothing seemed too much trouble. We needed a slight rework of our kitchen units to fill a cavity and fit a new dishwasher. Having spent months talking to all the big names (Wickes, Wren, IKEA etc), we always reached the same stumbling block which was that they wouldn’t do small job, so if we wanted a small rework we’d have to pay for the whole kitchen. Thankfully, we found Gary through Trusted Traders. He came over, took the measurements and took care of everything. Very happy with the finished product. Only thing that could have been better was the communication leading up to the job but in light of how happy we are with the work it’s only a very small issue. We’ll definitely be using Gary again.

My sliding kitchen door broke and stuck closed. Gary from BWS got it unstuck and help me work out the right parts to order, discussed approaches and then came back to put it all back together again. Great quality work and problem solving skills that meant the wall didn’t need to be opened up, making the whole thing much simpler. Highly recommended.

Gary fitted new front door letterbox , knocker and lock pullers on my Victorian front door. He had to make the letterbox opening bigger and it was quite a tricky job as the door is really heavy. He did a thorough job and I am really pleased with the results! Would highly recommend Gary and am sure I will use him again for any carpentry job I have in the future.
