I always choose Bumford's for our annual boiler and Tribune cylinder service. The staff are extremely easy to deal with and their engineers are prompt, efficient and thorough. I feel satisfied that I’ve received a good service at a reasonable price and intend to rebook in 2026. In the meantime I’d recommend Bumford’s to anyone requiring similar work.

As usual, I asked Bumfords to carry out the annual service on my gas boiler. It was easy to arrange a convenient appointment by chatting to Beth over the phone. Phil, the engineer who carried out the work this year, arrived on time and was thorough, efficient, friendly and tidy. It's clear that he is experienced and knows his work well. This is always the case with Bumford's engineers - they are realiable, I trust them to do the job well, and they do. I have been relying on Bumford's for more than 10 years now and will continue to do so.

Controls Upgrade
We have an unusual system so when we needed to up grade our controls for a remote access not every tradesman could offer a solution. Fortunately I found Bumfords who worked hard to find a solution for us. We now have remote access and independent control of all 13 zones. The installation went smoothly and all the individuals involved helped to deliver a great solution. Well done Bumfords.

We had new heating controls fitted to replace our outdated ones. Bumfords provided advice on the best type for our needs. They removed our old heating controls, serviced our boiler and fitted the Hive system. We received a quote and cost. The work was carried out as agreed to both time and price. We were provided with clear information on how to use the Hive system. Bumfords were very helpful, good at responding and answering all our questions and providing advice. A professional service, with good customer service and a good price. I would recommend Bumfords and use them again.

Lovely tradespeople who fixed my problem incredibly quickly

I noticed that my hot water cylinder was leaking and called up Bumfords on Monday morning. They said that they would have a slot available on Thursday, but they might try to move it up to Wednesday if possible. About an hour later, they called to say that they could come and look at it the same day! The engineers who came round were lovely, very clearly explained the fault and what work was needed without being at all patronising, which, as a woman, I really appreciated. I then got a clear quote for the work, which I was happy with. A little while later, they had managed to secure the part and returned to complete the work! I highly recommend Bumfords and will be returning to them for all my heating/plumbing needs in the future.

Repair to leaking toilet

A date was arranged a couple of days ahead. I was informed of the costs involved. Arrived promptly at prearranged time. Phil explained that he didn't have a part appropriate to the toilet & had to go to a plumber's merchant. He offered an estimate of the cost of parts before going. All work was completed, having explained what work had been done & tested. It was done cleanly, with all fittings replaced. Footwear was removed from my door. I was very pleased once again with Bumfords' service.

Water leaking through Kitchen ceiling

After taking a shower we noticed water coming through kitchen ceiling, I immediately rang Bumfords as they had done work for me previously, within the hour Phil was sent out and diagnosed that water was seeping through the tile grouting after discussing various options we decided to line the shower and put a larger shower tray in . To make sure we had a shower before work commenced, Phil lined the shower with black bags to stop the link. Robin came out to measure and discussed all options, I received an estimate. Monday 21st July, Phil and Joe turned up and started work - they did an excellent job, we were so pleased. They left the house spotless and I can't praise them high enough. I will always use and recommend Bumfords.

We have been using Bumford heating for years with no problems and was pleasantly surprised to find that they still had our personal details on record. This time we had a boiler change, all new radiators and full system flush. The job was quoted and scheduled by Robin Bumford and over a 4 day period carried out by Mathew and another colleague. The guys were clean, tidy, fun to have around the house and a credit to Bumfords. From initial contact to completion, we are very satisfied and beleive Bumford heating to be highly recommendable.

A truly reliable company. I have had new combi boiler installed by them. 2020. Serviced every year. Leak under extension caused by builders negligence. 2020. 2024 new shower cubicle. 2025 leak from shower waste they did not fit. New kitchen radiator. Never let you down. If urgent they come the same day. If not next day. Always someone manning the phones

The work was done efficiently and to agreed dates and prices. When there was a delay because Worcester Bosch did not have the items required I was offered alternatives to start without delays. I had researched different manufacturers and decided to stay with my first choice so the delay was technically down to my choice. When the work started Bumfords recognised that my disabled son and wife were stressed by the work going on around them so laid on extra resources to minimise disruption and worked around their needs The work was completely quickly and tidily and cools the rooms down quickly even on the hottest day of the year and is more economical than I expected too. I was very pleased with politeness of the installers and the finished installation. I heartily recommend them.

Bumfords recently relocated our boiler, washing machine, and tumble dryer from our kitchen/utility to our garage. They did an absolutely fantastic job to an incredibly high standard. The job required a good deal of new pipework throughout the house, which they completed with the minimum of disruption. The team was very clean and tidy, and pleasant to have in the house. We couldn’t have been more satisfied with the outcome. They also installed a manifold for underfloor heating…they will be returning later in the year to fit this after we have completed some internal renovations. The communication with Robin and the lead engineer (Phil) was also excellent. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough!

Recently had a replacement boiler installed by Bumfords and the service from start to finish was exceptional. From surveying the job initially, through the installation and instruction at the end they were first class. Phil and Joe did the work and were friendly, helpful and professional throughout. Emergency gas boiler repair

Our Condensate pipe had frozen. We did not realise that was the problem as it had not happened to us before and the Bosch Error code said Gas supply issue seek assistance! An emergency engineer came out to us on the coldest night for 4 years, so early in the morning arriving at 7-20 am. It was difficult for him with the icy roads and pavements. He was so helpful and cheerful for that time in the morning. We were so grateful that we were not freezing for the weekend. Excellent service from Bumfords as always.

We needed a really old gas central heating boiler to be replaced. We knew that certain sections of lead piping would need to be removed, replaced and re-joined to existing gas appliances and that the job was not straightforward. We had a very positive recommendation from one of our neighbours who had employed Bumfords previously. A surveyor visited within 2 days of contact, viewed our existing heating system and discussed our requirements. We received a quote within 48 hrs, which we accepted. Work could not start for 8 weeks (reassuringly busy?) but the guys arrived on the due date and completed the work in the estimated time. The workmen were excellent in their expertise of plumbing, plastering, electricals and stone masonry! Really efficient solutions were found regarding the re-piping and electrical works which meant that virtually no cosmetic damage to the house occurred. At the end of each day, work areas were left clean and tidy. We were given a run-through with help and recommendations on how to operate the system most efficiently. We are happy to recommend Bumfords to others.

We had a new boiler fitted plus a new electric fire instead of our current gas fire. The engineers turned up on time stated each of the three mornings and worked constantly informing us of what they were doing each day. The worked carried out was done professionally and the place left clean and tidy . We were instructed on how to use the boiler, thermostat and fire and all instruction booklets left with us. Throughout the three days both engineers were very friendly going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable whilst they worked. Prior to the work going ahead the assessment visit explained fully what was required and a quote issued along with appointment date made within two weeks. We would certainly recommend this company.
