We moved to South Hiendley in 2003 and chose Bumford's to replace a fire-back boiler on the basis of sensible advice plus a competitive quote from a local company. We contracted with them for an annual service and speedy call out when needed. They provided a very good service for twenty years at a very reasonable price. Recently we decided to replace our boiler which had "played up" a number of times over the past year. We again opted for a Worcester Bosch boiler from Bumford's after taking advice from Alex and for a lower quote than others contacted. The work was done to our complete satisfaction over one and a half days by Matt and Jack.

Everyone at Bumfords was efficient and helpful as always. As soon as it was realised the boiler had to be replaced a quote was given and the date established for the fitting of the new boiler. We were kept informed and the new boiler was in place and commissioned within the week. We have used Bumford’s for over ten years and they have always performed well and been outstanding in taking account of the clients needs.

We've just had our old boiler & downstairs toilet replaced by Bumfords & would highly recommend them. From the first call to book an appointment for a quote, to the job being completed we can't praise them enough. All our questions regarding the quote etc were answered promptly & a couple of days prior to the start day we received a text message to say they would be with us at 8.30am. Matt arrived on time & did an excellent job, he was friendly & patiently answered any questions we had, he was very tidy & cleared up before leaving each day, the electrician & plasterer both arrived on schedule too so the whole job was completed in the time they had said it would be, with no delays waiting for different trades to arrive. The new boiler is much quieter then the old one & the radiators seem to get hot a lot quicker than before so overall we're very happy & will definitely use them again for any future work.

We went with Bumfords to install an LPG boiler as part of the installation of a central heating system. We were very happy with the service. All the workman were very pleasant, patient and they seem to have done a good job. Everything seems to be working well 2 weeks in. The price too was slightly cheaper than the other quote we had (from a sole trader). They also did everything they said they would, when they said they would, and kept us informed throughout the process.

The guys were super professional. They were here for four days - very old boiler and up a flight of stairs to boot! They were polite, clean and treated my home as if it were theirs. First of all I should point out I am a hard to please customer. Robin spec'd up and produced the quote for me, I posted out exact what I expected from the install and was agreed. Phil came to see me prior to the install to ensure everything was prepped and ready for the installation. Each and every aspect of my requests were considered and delivered. Phil and the crew were punctual, polite and showed my home with the respect they would their own home. It had just been decorated and was left in a perfect condition after the work. I have no hesitation in recommending Bumfords to anyone requiring air conditioning and I will be using them as and when I need a new boiler. Just had a new boiler (Worcester) supplied and installed by Bumfords. The price quoted was , I thought, good Matt's team turned up on time (8am) on the scheduled date (29/06), later on in the morning another team turned up to help Matt. They all did an excellent job. The electrician came the next morning to do a wiring mod required for the boiler to run properly. He too did an excellent job. I am very pleased with the work done, the new boiler appears to run a lot quieter than the one it replaced (which was 28 years old). Bumfords is an excellent local (to Barnsley) company. I definitely recommend them to anyone considering using them.

A quick and competitive quotation by Alex in the office and a difficult hot water tank removal and replacement was achieved by Matt and Jack with first rate workmanship. We were very happy with the work Bumfords had done at our previous house in South Yorkshire and wanted them to do the replacement boiler & heating system in our "new" (18th century) house near Matlock. It was a fairly big job (over a week) and not straightforward but Robin took the time to assess the requirement and came up with a very good proposal. The engineers, Phil and Joe, then did a fantastic job to get everything in and up and running with the minimum of disruption. All in all, Bumfords were excellent and we highly recommend them.

Bumford's engineer, Craig, arrived at agreed time and completed whole job in a timely manner. A key factor on this was to do the job without draining down the system (open vent system with h/w cylinder). Did this very efficiently, with no mess at all. Would highly recommend.

My new boiler was fitted yesterday. I have used Bumford Heating to service my boilers for over 20 years. As I needed the boiler replacing I didn’t shop around, I just contacted Bumford. Alex visited my house and discussed which boiler would be suitable. Yesterday morning Phil arrived at 8 am to commence the work. He was very polite and efficient. The work was completed in one day as I was told it could take up to two days. The outside work looks wonderful as I was concerned that it wouldn’t be as neat as it was formally. I should not have worried. I didn’t even have to sweep the drive etc. Both inside and outside were left clean and tidy. I have no hesitation to recommend this company.

New combination boiler required new copper pipe upgrade. This was a bigger job than just installing a boiler. They did a very careful job of installing the new pipe work on the outside of the house taking on board my requests as to how it should look and not stand out too much. They kept to schedule and cleaned up after themselves. They were though beforehand in the discussion around which boiler would best suit us. They were professional and would not shy away from explaining that regulations specified that a larger diameter gas pipe was needed. Other companies did not tell us about this.

Bumfords fitted an unvented cylinder system and removed my old system including the water tank in the loft. The work was carried out with care and precision. Attention to small detail and leaving everything clean and tidy was excellent. I received excellent advice beforehand and the new system is delivering everything promised.

My old back boiler needed replacing and I wanted the new one to be fitted in a cupboard in my bathroom. I needed to replace my existing oil boiler and Bumfords were local with a good reputation. Robin Bumford came and completed a site survey alone with a very competitive quote. Prior to this Robin returned with the engineer Phil Romans and discussed the installation. On the day of the installation, phil removed and disposed of my old oil boiler and fitted a brand new Worcester Bosch. Only when he fired it up did he find fault with the boiler - this was not his fault but immediately contacted Worcester Bosch and an engineer came and replaced the part free of charge immediately. I would have no hesitation I'm recommending Bumfords heating and both Robin and Phil did and excellent installation at a very competitive price - compared to other local companies.

Very professional service from first phone call to completing the work. Everyone was very helpful in sorting out the problem and delivering a solution. We had a new hot unvented water system installed. Very responsive to first phone call and assessing the work. A clear quote and agreed installation date. Explained the installation, how to use and future maintenance. Kept disruption to a minimum and cleared away as went along. Completed installation to schedule and price. Excellent quality job. After reading all the reviews we engaged Bumfords for the first time to replace our central heating boiler and a radiator. This work was carried out to our total satisfaction. We recently engaged them again on a much smaller plumbing requirement to which Alex responded with the usual eagerness to assist we have found with all the people we have dealt with at Bumfords. It follows therefore that we have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone looking for a dependable company to carry out the services they provide.

We are undertaking a major refurbishment of our home and I wished to appoint one trustworthy company to fulfil all our plumbing and heating requirements. Several people recommended Bumfords to me and I have not been disappointed. Phase one of the works was completed last week and involved installation of a new en-suite shower room, new gas boiler and various other plumbing and heating works. Specialist asbestos removal was also required and facilitated by Bumfords. The shower room was a particularly challenging project, due to pre-existing house design and build features, which Bumfords overcame and resolved, with stunning results. There were a couple of hiccups along the way, mainly due to supply chain issues. Bumford speedily resolved the problems and brought the project back on track. Our project manager, has been exemplary, running the project to military precision and keeping us fully informed along the way. Those working in our home have been equally professional and helpful, delivering quality workmanship, advice and guidance, as well as rapidly accommodating our changing and evolving requirements. Phase two of our works programme is due to commence shortly. This involves gas fire installation and a new bathroom. The bathroom will also be challenging, due to similar design issues already encountered with the shower room, where Bumfords took on the challenges with aplomb. We look forward to welcoming Bumfords back into our home to undertake Phase two.

What I thought would be a mammoth task was completed within 3 days. The team from Bumford Heating Limited were outstanding, they installed a completely new solid fuel central heating system and got it up and running in the time stated above.

I've used Bumford's for a number of years now and have always been very satisfied with their work. They deal with urgent issues as quickly as they can and the engineers are always knowledgeable and helpful. My boiler broke down on Saturday 2 October and I emailed them about this at 6pm that day because, from past experience, I knew the issue would be dealt with as soon as possible on Monday. Bumford's dropped off electric fan heaters to me on Monday in case there was a delay getting an engineer out to me, but in the event the boiler (which needed a new pump) was up and working again by 3pm on Tuesday 5 October. A great service!

An excellent company!! I cannot recommend highly enough. Bumfords have provided exemplary service for my 95 year old mother’s central heating system over many years. Everyone we have ever dealt with has been friendly, polite and professional. Recently though they have impressed as a business that really cares about its customers. The ancient back boiler of Mum’s system started cutting out making it impossible to use the central heating system. We received a very prompt Covid compliant visit from Alex who advised us on the installation of a new boiler and provided a very reasonable quote. However, we did not think my mother would cope with the upheaval it would require. Bumfords understood our position and instead of shrugging their shoulders, like many companies would have done, they showed great empathy. They sent another engineer for one last go at trying to solve the problem. Bob was amazing, methodical, analytical, and patient and after testing everything and eventually spending over half an hour lying on the floor staring at the boiler flame he cracked it. A couple of days later he returned and fitted a new part and all is well! This company is definitely one in which you can have great confidence and one you can trust completely.

Our relative in her 80's coping with dementia required a replacement boiler. She lives 170 miles away and we had to organise it over the phone. Everyone we spoke to at Bumfords proved to be knowledgeable, considerate and polite. The sale representative deserves special thanks for his understanding of the situation and for ensuring a smooth installation that ran to schedule. Since moving to Yorkshire I've found it difficult to find a proper handyman. Bumfords have proved to be the real thing. In one visit Craig mended a leaking tap, put a new rubber seal on a leaking gutter joint, installed a new locking handle on the bathroom door, and then when the toilet started to overflow unexpectedly while he was here, he also sorted out the ball-valve. He also took the trouble to point out problems he'd noticed with the roof while he was up the ladder, and to recommend a roofer. I was only charged £80 for the whole lot! I am delighted with the service.

I contacted Bumfords to sort a problem with my underfloor heating. I was given an appointment day within a week and I got a reminder a day before the appointment. The Plumber, Phil, was prompt, polite, very professional and knowledgeable. He was able to sort out a persistent problem with the system that I had previously been told could not be corrected without an expensive upgrade. He cleaned up after himself and gave recommendations about how I can optimize the currently installed system. Overall extremely satisfied with the service and will use them again

Bumfords replaced our boiler in December 2020, just after the second lockdown. The staff who visited observed every safety precaution. It was an unplanned, emergency situation, in the middle of very cold weather and yet they responded to my initial request for a quote immediately. It is a system with a large hot water tank, so more complex than the average combi boiler, but during the whole process we had complete faith that they knew exactly what they were doing. The job was completed on time and to budget. The engineer was a pleasure to have in the house - tidy, helpful, friendly but hard working. The outcome was possibly one of the best jobs we have ever had done, and we have been restoring houses for over 40 years, so we have plenty of experience! The engineer spent a very long time balancing the system and the result is the house has never been warmer or easier to control using the Hive control system. It is excellent, even in a big old house. We will be using Bumfords for all our plumbing jobs in the future. They also fitted some kitchen taps for us at the same time as the boiler. Last week we had a leak from one of the pipes under the sink and they were there that afternoon to fix it. Absolutely excellent service.

From our first call to the office at Bumford's to the end of our new boiler installation the service we received was excellent. Alex came out the same day to look at the old boiler and we agreed that a new boiler was the way to go. Within the day Alex had sent me an email with the quote for the work required doing and quickly came back with another quote as we decided to have anew radiator fitted also. Phil the engineer came promptly on the agreed date and followed all covid proceedures and protocols. Phil was very professional covering as much as possible with dust sheets and he kept me informed at all stages of the installation .The boiler was fully tested and Phil gave us a very thorough hand over of the boiler showing us all functions. Nothing is too much trouble for this company, it's a company you can trust and rely on .

A very professional company. The new boiler was an upgrade from the existing and had to be located in a different area. From the initial survey by Robin who went into detail of the installation, type and size of boiler required and gave an explanation of where all new piping would be located. Robin & Phil (Installation engineer) also came to our home prior to the installation to go through all details and answer any questions. Bumfords came the same day that I rang them to look at my leak and resolved the situation immediately. Although they were really busy a new boiler was fitted 4 days later. No mess whatsoever. From start to finish the whole team have been so professional, accommodating and supportive. The initial survey with Robin put my mind at ease at what we wanted to achieve, no pressure sales, just good honest advice, constant communication helped me design the solution I wanted. The team supplied and fitted a brand new Worcester Bosch High flow boiler plus Nest Thermostat, including removing the hot water tank and header tanks of the old system to make way for the new bathroom. They installed new designer radiators throughout the house. The removal and replacement was completed in a day to a very high standard and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The fitting of the radiators required more work than expected to include supports in the walls due to the weight of them but this didn’t phase any of the team, they simply got on and sorted the job, they were very patient and professional and the standard of work can be seen through the whole project. Just fitted a new wet underfloor heating system as part of our new kitchen refurb. This required a lot of coordination between plumbers, kitchen fitters and flooring installers which went remarkably well. Part way through the kitchen project we noticed a leak on the old boiler and despite the various constraints of COVID they managed to source and fit a new boiler quickly and efficiently. Alex is always so helpful and ensures everything is done in a timely and professional way.

Its great when you can use a local company. Its even better when they turn out to be as good as Bumford Heating. All the staff I spoke to or met, are without exception, friendly, professional and highly competent. The quality of the workmanship was spot on - and attention to detail exceeding my expectations. The prices are realistic and fair. During the strange Covid aware circumstance we're in - they were very mindful of wearing ppe and social distancing. Would I recommend them? Bumfords were recommended by a friend. Alex couldn't have been more helpful, it was big job with an urgent timeline, including a new heating system, boiler, radiators, bathroom and cloakroom. The end result and attention to detail and quality of work is outstanding. This is a professional, quality business, with Alex going out of his way to answer questions and to make sensible suggestions. We were given a schedule and budget, which was kept to by the Bumfords team, so no hidden surprises. It was the little things that really stood out for us, we urgently needed an outside tap, Alex arranged for someone to come out that day to put one in, to loaning an industrial hoover to clear up mess, not actually left by Bumfords. They also helped us find other local trade to help with plastering and painting. This is a quality team, you will struggle to find a better, more reliable service in the Barnlsey area. We would use them again and strongly recommend.

I contacted Bumfords, having previously used them, to check out my elderly mothers boiler that kept cutting out. They sent an engineer out the same day. He checked the system, which was now working, and found a kink in the outlet from the condensate pump and showed me the manual override that cleared the full tank and cured, so he thought, the stoppage. The next day it was off again. I went and checked the condensate pump and found the manual override was now not working at all. I got the system working again. This went on for the next day or two and so I rang back to Bumfords and they sent out a different engineer. He didn't really inspect anything, just said that the condensate pump was the issue and did he want me to order a replacement? I declined as I recognised that the pump was not the only issue as it was now 'out of the system', having been replaced with a bowl to collect the water, but I said I would give it over the weekend. Over the weekend it went off every night. I called Bumfords on the Monday (6/1/20)and spoke to a member of staff who said that the issue was only the pump and he would get back to me with a price. I am still waiting for him to get back. I checked the internet for a different gas service engineer who came the same day and straight away after listening to my description of what had happened he identified the spark unit as being faulty. Replaced it, a really simple job. Has worked perfectly since. I won't be using this trader again.

From first contact Bumfords produced a detailed work plan and costing to replace some radiators, new pump etc. Craig completed the job with respect for my home and was courteous at all times. All the work was finished to a high standard. It was a pleasure doing business with a friendly bunch of people from office staff through to fitters. Thank you.

Booked Bumfords after meeting Robin and getting a quote, after another supplier failed to give me any confidence. The work was done on the days agreed, to the agreed price and by a very efficient, friendly and obliging fitter. The location of the boiler could not be described as 'easy access' and some work around's were needed to get the new installation done properly, but these were all sorted without any hassles or grumbles and within the costs quoted. I did keep the teapot brewed, but that's an easy part of the deal! Well done and thanks to Robin and Matt and the Bumfords' team.

Alex Gregory of Bumfords came out to advise us on improving our complicated heating and hot water system in a big old house. He was very professional, quick to size up the very complex systems, and patient and clear in giving us suggestions about the possible ways forward. He was very honest and told us we didn't need Bumfords at the moment but we needed to consider our options. We were impressed and very grateful for his time.

We had a handrail replaced on our staircase after having the artex wall covering tested for the possible presence of asbestos. At all times they were professional and explained to us at every stage what was happening. The work was done to a good standard and the area was left clean and tidy afterwards. We wound certainly use them again in the future.

Bumfords have just replaced our old oil boiler with a gas combi boiler and everything went perfectly. Alex guided us through arranging for a gas supply and meter, and then the boiler was replaced, the hot water cylinder and tanks in the loft removed, and they arranged for our oil tank to be drained and safely removed by a specialist firm. The engineers, Matt and Keith, were excellent, completing the installation more quickly and with far less disruption than we expected. There was no mess at all. We wish we had this done years ago ! Everything was done on time and for the agreed quote.

I rang Bumfords asking for help with an existing underfloor heating thermostat. Having been let down by the electrician who replaced the thermostat (he said he did not know how to set it up) I contacted Bumfords and spoke to Alex. On his advice I sent photos of the relevant parts and Alex contacted the manufacturer on my behalf. The result was a phone call from the manufacturer to talk me through the set up ... no problems! Very grateful to Bumfords who definitely put the needs of this customer first.

We purchased a new boiler from Bumford's 15 years ago, since when it has been serviced annually under contract. This year again Andy attended and completed the work quickly and efficiently. When arranging the service I also appreciated by Alex's impartial advice about flushing the system, ie without trying simply to sell me additional work.

I had my nest installed by Phil from Bumfords, after a couple of electrians failed to get it working, Phil was friendly and polite explaining everything to me. He got the nest up and running and in no time set it all up. I would highly recommend Bumfords heating engineers they were punctual and very efficient.

Having embarked on a substantial renovation project at my home I was confident that I could supplort the key trades in the project. The project included a large front extension (4mx12m) and side extension (5mx4m) and Bumfords supported this project by installing underfloor heating to ground floor, heating to first and second floor and all plumbing to 2 additional bathrooms. The heating plans were organised and sent to me to review in advance and I spoke to a rep from Bumfords to gain more understanding of how they would install the UFH and plumbing. Their staff are professional and polite. The installers fro Bumfords were excellent, often having to work around other trades. They not only did their own work well, but gave me advice on some DIY work i was undertaking and also assisted other tradespeople who were workking on the property when they needed some help. The standard of the work is excellent and I would strongly recommend them.

The work involved adding radiators to an existing system. How to integrate old and new demanded great expertise . The work was skillfully carried out and tidying up and carpets relaid perfectly afterwards-- all within the scheduled two days. The charge was very reasonable . As a bonus a problem with my shower was solved - I only paid for parts. This was first class service.

Had a condenser boiler replaced with a combi boiler and the old tank removed. Great service, hard working fitters and very little mess considering the work that was carried out. Would definitely recommend this company in the future.

Preparations for the plumbing and gas fitting when swapping an old solid fuel AGA for a new gas version. Firstly communications with the office staff were easy and efficient and friendly. The two men carrying out the work were skilled, worked well together and finished the tasks on time and on budget. They were also tidy and left things exactly as the AGA remover and fitters of the new AGA required. I'd be happy to use Bumfords again should a need arise.

We had quite a lot of work done, an old range removed and replaced with an external oil boiler, new radiators and some new piping installed. The initial survey was informative and helpful, with all the options explained, with a final recommendation to have an external combi boiler. Work stated and finished on schedule. The team were pleasant and very efficient and cleaned up afterwards. We are very pleased with the results and would be happy to use them again, and recommend them.

Contacted bumfords regarding a faulty shower. Came out,could not diagnose the problem and did not fix it. Engineer then left after 15 minutes without leaving a quote for a new shower or a quote to fix it. They did kindly send me a bill a few weeks later for £54 call out charge having done nothing. A charge they conveniently forgot to mention when i contacted them. ABSOLUTE DAYLIGHT ROBBERY. Will not be using them again.

Bumfords carried out a full system overhaul for us involving replacing and relocating an oil fired boiler to an external location and replacing the old pressurised hot water tank. As part of the installation they re-worked all the old piping to ensure everything was done to the best possible standard. To add to the complications the work was scheduled during what turned out to be the coldest and snowiest time for a few years - this didn't phase them at all and no corners were cut despite this. A truly great team who take pride in their work.

From getting the quote for 2 bathrooms and boiler move it has been a stress free experience. The workmen are extremely professorial and very tidy. I am over the moon with the finished job.

Just had a new boiler and 'Nest' fitted by Bumfords, the service I received from start to finish was really excellent and fast. Matt and his assistant were both friendly polite and efficient, the boiler was installed and fully commissioned in a day and a half and when completed was left very clean and tidy. Bumfords recently fitted a Worcester Boiler. They were professional, came on time, did the work in the quoted time. They did recommend the boiler and we are very happy with it. It works much more effectively than our old Boiler.

Richard from Bumfords installed our Nest thermostat promptly and works perfectly with our existing heating system. He showed us how to work the thermostat and delivered a high standard of workmanship.

Bumfords have just finished a large project that involved the installation of a multi-fuelled fire that linked up with the oil central heating system. This was a bespoke design that really showed the extensive skills of the whole team. The project from start to finish was professional, friendly, encouraging, very tidy and done with out any fuss at all. They took extra care and time to get the system exactly how we wanted, explained everything and would come back within the same day if I was concerned or wanted to talk about anything. The are an holistic team that did a fantastic job that you would not be able to find anywhere else.

Bumfords have just finished a total overhaul of our heating system and did a fantastic job. The team and the service has been exceptional, right from the planning stages through to the finish. Each of the guys have been brilliant, particularly Phil and Keith but also Graham who stayed late a couple of nights to get stuff done. We would also like to thank Alex Gregory for overseeing the job from start to finish and really listening to what we wanted and needed. The whole team were thorough, methodical and very accommodating considering they had me, the children and the crazy dog to contend with through most of it! They were also been extremely tidy, making sure everything was tidied away at that end of each day and leaving the house in a really good state when they finished. A big thank you to all of them. I would highly recommend them.

We first got to know Bumfords when we needed to have our previous boiler serviced after being let down by a different company. We were so impressed by their customer service and knowledge that we continued to have the annual service with them. At the end of last year our very old boiler began to let us down so Alex came to see us to discuss all the options available to us regarding a new system. He listened to what we needed from our system, including a request for a new shower. He fully explained what type of system and shower would be suitable for us, including researching the boiler which would be compatible with our TADO system. This was followed up by a detailed quote. We have just had the central heating system and shower changed and we are extremely delighted with the completed work. The engineers were on time, hard working, everything kept clean and tidy and we were kept informed of every aspect of the work being completed. This is a firm which can be relied upon to give an excellent, cost effective service and we would highly recommend for their customer service and for listening to their customers. It is truly an excellent firm putting the customer first and we would have no hesitation in using Bumfords again for all our plumbing and heating. Thank you for a job well done!

Put simply, I use Bumfords for everything to do with gas or water. Why you may ask, well I measured good practice on quality, service and cost. Quality: 1. They have fitted boilers for me and my in-laws. Quality is exceptional, but more importantly they look to provide the best solution for the customer 2. It's a small thing, but they wear shoe covers, and always tidy up after themselves 3. They provide annual servicing for my tenant property. I know the job will be done on time in full. No hassle. Service 1.In the last two years, I have had cause to ask them to help me with emergency leaks at very short notice, and they have delivered everytime. (Guys thanks again) 2. I had the whole of my ground floor fitted with Polypipe underfloor heating in November 2016. From review of needs to quote to booking in and doing their fitting, Bumfords did a fabulous job! They kept me updated all along the way-including daily text messages to say when their plumbers were on their way to my home and also accommodating a change in their schedule of work after our builders let us down and we were forced to delay them. All plumbers were polite, courteous, tidy, didn't take the mickey by not taking long lunches or breaks (unlike my builders!) and stayed until the job was done instead of downing tools at 3:30 each day!! They let me know the planned work each day and stuck to it. Couldn't ask for more!! They restored my lost faith in tradesmen! Couldn't recommend them enough.

Boiler change arranged by me for my elderly parents who live 50 miles away. Bumfords were very helpful and understanding they kept me fully informed and provided a very competitive quote. They were sympathetic to the age and vulnerability of my parents. The work was of a high standard and they cleaned up after. They took time to explain how the programmer worked.
