We are an arboricultural services company based in Hertfordshire with over 10 years experience in the Arb industry.
We are qualified and insured to carry out all aspects of tree surgery from small tree reductions and trimming, to rigging techniques to lower trees down safely, to full stump removal, and replanting.

Simon and his team came when promised to fell to ground level a dead acacia tree in our back garden and grind out the stump. They did the job professionally with all the right safety equipment, avoided damaging nearby trees and shrubs, removed the remains of the tree and left the garden very tidy. The amount on the invoice was at the mid-point of the price range set out in the estimate.

We needed to have a tree removed because it was leaning heavily and we were concerned about safety. Simon Burnley provided a competitive quotation and undertook to liaise with the LB of Harrow as we are located in a Conservation Area. After permission was granted Simon booked a date and came earlier today. The work was done quickly, efficiently with no issues whatsoever.

Really pleased with the work undertaken by Simon and his team. The work was as follows: 1) Fell multi stemmed Sycamore to around 8ft and leave trunks for habitat 2) Reduce Ash tree by around 50% current size due to cavity in trunk 3) Common Horse chestnut = Remove major deadwood throughout whole crown area (Deadwood > 25mm in diameter ) Highly recommend.

They also picked up on a sycamore that really needed to come down which we were monitoring but hadn’t made a decision about. We also felt the quote was reasonable.

I recently used Simon Burnley’s services as he had been recommended to me by a neighbour. From the first contact I had with Simon I found him to be very helpful, and friendly. Simon was very clear with what he would be doing and delivered on everything he said he would do. I am very pleased with the work he carried out removing two large trees, the site where the trees were was left very tidy, you wouldn’t know there had been any trees before. I would have no hesitation in recommending Simon and will definitely contact him again if I need work carried out on any other trees.

Removal of Large Fallen Yew Bough After Storm

We had two back to back storms in January which caused a very large bough on a yew tree in the Churchyard to fall precariously over gravestones and potentially act as a public hazard to visitors. Our immediate reaction was to ring Simon. We have used Simon regularly as our resident arborist as he is both very personable, knowledgeable and very reasonably priced. Simon sent two of his crew over the next morning and they cleared up the bough and associated branches very quickly, efficiently and without damage to any of the headstones in a very historic churchyard. We always look to Simon for any advice and subsequent work that needs doing and can’t recommend him highly enough.

Simon has an excellent knowledge of trees and how to manage them. He and his team reduced the height and spread of an acacia and a Portuguese laurel, both of which were as tall as the house. They also removed a mass of ivy that was choking the trees. The team cleaned up brilliantly and took away every twig and leaf that needed to be cleared. Simon also has a good system for sending a quote and invoicing for the work. Sadly, Simon is let down by his bank. I tried to pay by bank transfer, but it turned out that Simon’s bank, is not part of the scheme that allows payees to check that the account people are about to pay into is the one intended. Rather than risk paying into a wrong account, I paid by cheque. However, taking the customer service and the quality of the work as a whole, I still think that Simon deserves 5 stars.

I have used Simon Burnley's Services previously and recommended him then. This second time has been just as satisfactory as the first time although the schedule suffered some delays. But communications with Simon were maintained throughout via email and WhatsApp. Simon and his team were very helpful, did all that was asked in record time and shredded all pruning's on site, leaving it tidy. It was all done to the agreed budget.

Every autumn I have Simon and his team come to trim a Leylandii hedge and tidy up various shrubs, ivy, clematis, etc. I've also used him to prune back a wild plum tree, and to remove a dead conifer. They arrive on time, are unfailingly friendly and courteous, they work fast and efficiently, tidy up after themselves and take the waste away with them. I never give anyone a perfect score, because it's always possible to improve, hence four stars.

From the initial site inspection to the pruning of five trees, Simon inspired confidence by his honesty, experience and willingness to accommodate our requirements and offer advice as to the best outcome throughout. He has an eye for detail and a thorough knowledge of the trees he tackled. Simon and his team were punctual and carried out the tasks with enthusiasm and obvious pride in their work. He clearly wants to leave satisfied and happy customers. They tided up impeccably afterwards despite cuttings and wood shavings settling onto the gravel drive. Simon and his team removed a willow tree, a large ivy and various other unwanted plants. From first contacting him he was a delight to deal with, responding to our queries quickly and arranging a consultation where he demonstrated his expertise. The quote was very reasonable and all works were carried out speedily, to a high standard and he checked we were happy with everything before departing (what was most impressive was the cleanup - it was as if they were never there!).
