As a 1st time buyer, the biggest mistake I made was buying our first home with a whole 100% flat roof. The best decision I made was getting Chris Richards and his team on the case. Chris is a perfect example of why I love using independent family businesses. Honest and truthful through and through. Upon starting the job my suspicions with the roof were confirmed – due to the poor effort by the previous owner (a so-called builder/property developer) to rectify the roof problem we discovered there had been such a high level of water ingress the whole lot had to be ripped up due to rotten timbers etc. Chris went the extra step of juggling many of the weeks jobs around to accommodate the extra work needed to our roof. The difference is night and day, correctly rectified and installed with pure quality and craftmanship. It looks magnificent and we could not be happier. All the spoils were taken away and cleaned up with pride, and you would not have known anyone had been here. A huge thank you to chris and the team When we eventually move on from here into our 2nd home I will most definitely be calling upon Chris to do a thorough roof inspection so we don’t get caught out again. When I needed a roofer to repair a leaking roof and frost-damaged chimney, C. Richards & Son were recommended by a work colleague, and turned out to be a good choice. Chris quoted me for the repairs and a full survey of the roof. The survey revealed some other problems and Chris talked me through various options for repair. I opted for re-tiling of the entire roof and replacement of the aging felt with a modern waterproof membrane. The work was completed in under a week, at the agreed cost. The entire team were hard-working, polite and tidy and responded quickly to any questions I had about the work. Based on other quotes I received for this work, and on similar repairs to my sister's house two years ago, I think that C. Richards & Son offer good value for money.
