Very happy with the work don by Chris and Dan. They repointed our kitchen extension , cleaning up as they worked and removing all the old sand and cement. They also repaired our front door porch canopy which had a bad leak. They did all the timber work, replacing rotten timbers reroofing the top and underside and painting it all. just brought in a roofer to replace the zinc roof with felt. It looks like new . All this with appalling weather so it was a start / stop job over 3 weeks but Chris kept us in the loop about his next visit weather permitting. He gave us a fair quote and kept to it.

Chris and Dan did an amazing job and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or to contact them again if we ever need any further work. Chris diagnosed the cause of the penetrating damp in our kitchen and talked us through the options and provided a detailed (and fair) quote. They stripped multiple layers of paint from the rear of our 2-storey house, dug out the old mortar, repaired the brickwork, re-pointed and re-painted. Chris kept us up-to-date on progress throughout, in person and via WhatsApp. He and Dan were both very friendly and considerate and cleaned and tidied up after what was an unavoidably messy job. They also both went above and beyond – Chris in fixing a loose gutter and disguising an unsightly concrete lintel – and Dan in helping with an unforeseen window leak. Highly recommended.

Replaced patio and path. Work involved removing old slabs, fixing the original foundation, laying new slabs, adding edging stones, and pointing. In addition, the team repaired and repainted the wall plinth and cemented cobbles around the lawn border. Chris consulted as appropriate and worked to the agreed timetable. Tidied up and cleaned. We are pleased with the high standard of work.

Very happy with the work Chris and Dan did for us in October 2024. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend CA Building & Restoration or to use their services again. The work they did for us included removal of some render from the back and side of our house, replacement brickwork, repointing, re-rendering, installation of new lintels and air vent, and in-fill of cracks to existing render. A key result of their work is that ongoing water ingress/internal damp in our kitchen has been arrested and the property looks SO much better with its repointed garden walls and unsightly, lumpy render on the back of the house (from patch repairs over the years) now removed. Our patio and other hard surfacing around the house were well protected during the work they carried out. Chris and Dan are also lovely folks. It really was a pleasure to have them on site. A big thank you to them both for the work they did for us.

My neighbour and I got Chris' help to repoint and put new caps and cowls on our shared chimney which was in sore need of repair. Chris did a superb job fixing the original issues identified as well as ensuring the rest of the chimney was also in a left in a robust state. It was a challenging job given the conditions but Chris got the job done well and came in on quoted budget. The chimney now stands cleanly repointed & proud....nicely showing up the many other chimneys down the street that also need the same work doing :-)

Repointed a garden wall that initially had looked beyond redemption. Old mortar and ivy roots chased out and new mortar used with the result that the wall looks great and will last for many, many years to come. Looks better than the original when new!

Chris and Dan have just finished their second job for us at our period home in a conservation area and to their usual high standards. First was a chimney rebuild to eliminate water ingress from cracked render. Chris went above and beyond to rebuild the chimney and reinstate the chimney pots and we are delighted. Second was the repointing of a flint wall and partial rebuild. It looks fantastic and we expect it to remain standing for another 140 years! Chris and Dan work hard, are punctual and communicative and always happy to work with us to meet expectations. We will use them again.

Chris and Dan did a fantastic job repairing our brick wall, which we think is over 250 years old. Their skills and workmanship are evident in their work for us. The repair involved sourcing bricks that would match the existing bricks and then building up several courses to be the same height as the rest of the wall and not damaged. This was complex because the wall was originally part of a wall that surrounded what was once churchland, so Chris had to repair a small section of the wall at the back of our garden. The wall was double brick, with each course being different from the one below. Chris also used traditional lime mortar, which was in keeping with the rest of the wall. The result is superb, and I cannot stop looking at it! Chris will be back at some point to do further work for us, as we have found him, and there is no one else we would use in our Victorian home. Thanks again for an excellent job.

CA Building & Restoration undertook the stabilisation and repairs to my bay window brickwork which had cracked due to historical replacement of the wooden windows with uPVC. The work was done within the agreed programme and there was no change to the quotation after the works. CA Building & Restoration undertook their work in a professional manner and kept me informed at all stages as to progress of the works. The works installed were as agreed and the final pointing looks very good.

I can’t recommend Chris and his hardworking team more highly. They arrived ready to start work by 8am and worked tirelessly to get the job done (repointing). Excellent and regular communication through WhatsApp and made sure all the little bits were finished at the end. In terms of price, we shopped around as it was a big job. Chris’ price was fair and competitive. I recommend him to all my friends and family.

The job was to clear the shingle and debris from part of the driveway and lay new MOT base, membrane, and shingle.The work was completed quickly,thoroughly, on time, and on budget.The service was accommodating and first class. Would definitely recommend this company to others.

Chris and the hardworking team completed the work on schedule to the agreed price. There was good communication throughout and Chris gave us good and cost effective options to resolve unforeseen problems that came to light following excavation of the patio area. We were very pleased with the work and would certainly use Chris again.

Chris fixed up the brickwork in my fireplace ahead of a wood burning stove being fitted. He spent time visiting and discussing the work, making recommendations for what would & wouldn't work and look most authentic. His quote was reasonable, he communicated responsively and his work was superb. He repaired or replaced crumbled bricks with re-claimed ones to match and used proper lime mortar. He worked a long day until the job was finished and cleaned up after it was done. I'd definitely hire Chris again for any further brickwork.

We used Chris to fully repoint our house, and to clean the front. Chris was a good communicator, his quote was competitive and he was very pleasant to work with. High standard of work, great attitude and we would certainly use Chris again.

Chris and his team were awesome, a friendly group who worked hard and did an excellent job on our house. At the front of our house we had the top section of pebbledash removed, rendered and painted white, the bottom section of bricks were repointed. It has made the house look refreshed and brighter. We also had some repointing done at the back of the house, which proved to be a bigger job than expected due to some shortcuts taken by previous owners/builders. However they handled it well and the results are much better than we expected! All rubbish was taken away and the guys did a great job in cleaning up at the end of each day. Would recommend to anyone considering having similar work done and will very much be using Chris for future jobs.

I would very highly recommend CA Building and Restoration, following the work carried out to the front of my Victorian terrace, restoring and repointing brickwork and rendering. His skills and understanding of older properties is second to none. The team were polite, extremely hardworking and very focused in their work. I also appreciated their willingness to take on additional jobs that became apparent after they had started the work (regrettably due to substandard work carried out by a previous contractor). Cost was extremely reasonable and clearly identified from the outset.

Chris and his team recently completed repointing and repairs to the brickwork of our house. He gave a quick and positive response to my initial enquiry followed by a preliminary visit to assess the work and provide a quotation. Two subsequent quotes were promptly provided to incorporate additional work identified from a follow-up visit and various communications. An initial estimated starting date, subject to unforeseen circumstances proved accurate and the work was completed on schedule and as per the quoted price. Chris and his team worked hard and kept us informed throughout of any problems or issues arising and gave advice on how they were best resolved. They also ensured that the working area was adequately prepared and kept as tidy as possible. And the house is now looking so much better

Chris and his team have just completed rendering our house; removing all previous render, installing lintels (unforeseen job but Chris fixed quickly for a very reasonable price), rendering and painting. Chris, Aaron and the team are professional, very knowledgeable, clean/ tidy and really nice to deal with. Really nice group and I would highly recommend. We are really happy with the finish and will be getting Chris back next year to do our rear patio!

Chris and Aaron did a brilliant job repairing the cracked and blown render on my house. Even as unforeseen problems arose, Chris offered practical solutions at a fair price and completed the work within the schedule. Chris takes great pride in his work and was always keen to make sure I was happy at each stage. Chris has previously repointed the main part of our house and we did not hesitate to get him back when the brickwork on our extension needed some attention. As before we are really pleased with the quality of his ( and Aaron's ) work, their overall approach and the fact that their prices are competitive.

This was the 2nd time we had CA Building Restoration do some work for us. 1st was at the front of our house taking out the old brick mortar and redoing. The 2nd was to take off the render at the back of the house and redo the whole back. Chris and his team were great, clean and tidy and took great care in what they were doing. Both jobs have made the outside of the house look incredible and made it look good as new. I would highly recommend for any work that needs doing.

Chris and Aaron did an excellent job rebuilding an external front garden wall, which had been partially demolished by a vehicle. Prompt arrival throughout the length of the job, professional and courteous along with excellent consideration to detail. We have no hesitation in recommending CA Restoration and would definitely use again.

Chris and his team did a great job of repointing the rear part of our Victorian EOT house, and also of laying sandstone patio slabs in the side return. Communication was prompt and clear when questions & the inevitable unforeseen issues arose. All works were completed professionally and to a high standard. Also some additional small jobs out of the original scope were completed. The guys were here for almost 2 weeks and were no trouble at all.

Chris and his team arrived on site on Monday morning and set up really professionally. They had to work on our flat roof extension with a large glass skylight. They covered this safely and completed the works within 3 days. Repointing looks excellent and the team were always polite and hard working.

Chris and the team re-rendered and decorated three external walls of my house. They were hard working and meticulous in every aspect of their work whilst being very clean and tidy. I am thrilled with the end result.
