I arranged quotes from 4 companies before selecting CanDo Roofing. I'm so glad I did. The quote was very detailed. When Colin visited it was obvious he knew exactly what needed to be done and explained very clearly how and what they would do. No faffing with ringing managers or watching videos. No rubbish salesman bullshit. Trust me, I had plenty. I am delighted with the finished work. I had fascia guttering and a new flat roof. On top of the work in scope, I realised that additional work outside of the scope had also been done. Moss was removed from my roof tiles, and some roof tiles were replaced, which was not in the quote. A great job. I would highly recommend.

We engaged Colin to address a persistent leak on our low-pitch roof and to explore options for increasing natural light in our kitchen. Colin was exceptionally helpful, offering honest advice. Despite our initial plan to install sun tunnels, he cautioned that the light gain might disappoint and recommended against it. He also inspected the roof’s pitch, confirmed the tiles were suitable, and noted they could be reused. Colin’s team began work the following week and completed the job over several days. The result is impressive, and they left the site spotless. While we haven’t yet experienced heavy rain, we’re confident the roof will keep us dry. We wholeheartedly recommend Colin and his team.

After Storm Darragh affected some slates on our roof and loosened the mortar torching underneath, Colin was helpful and prompt. He visited free of charge to inspect the roof exterior from the ground and roof interior from the loft. Spotted some minor repointing needed. Quoted me a very fair price if I wanted his team to spend a morning up on the roof checking each slate by hand, repairing the pointing, scraping off moss, and to provide a condition report for our insurer. He sent me the quote on headed PDF soon after, so everything was above board. I confirmed, and he arrived punctually with his labourers at the appointed time for the work a few days later. They were polite, finished on time, and tidied up after themselves. Afterwards, he sent the report and a proper headed invoice within the agreed timeline. Wish all tradespeople were like this!

I first contacted CanDo Roofing for a quote in March 2024. Colin came out promptly and assessed the work. I was subsequently not able to go ahead until 6 months later but Colin remembered the job and not only did he honour the quote from earlier but he reduced it slightly as I needed fewer tiles replacing. Scaffolding was erected and work started 2 days later. The team were hard working and respectful. I was very pleased with the outcome, (embedding of ridge tiles, replacement of tiles and guttering and painting wooden soffits/fascia). Scaffolding was removed promptly which I was very happy about. Highly recommend.

My shed roof was leaking badly. Colin visited the site, explained that a new roof was required (I suspected as much) and that rubber matting would be used in place of the old felting. He sent a very detailed quote that itemised exactly what work would be undertaken and the materials used. In fact, Colin's quote arrived before the next firm on my list had even contacted me - despite being approached on the same day. His team of two arrived as scheduled, together with a detailed 'to do' list. They were hard-working, friendly and polite, working non-stop until the task was done. It was clear that they knew their job and worked well as a team. I was impressed that they turned two of the water damaged shed rafters to the inside to spread the wear - not on the 'to do' list. Afterwards, they cleared away all the rubbish. Overall, Colin and his team stand out as being efficient and business-like but always polite and helpful. I never felt under any pressure to agree to the work. I have no hesitation in recommending this firm.

Colin came to look at my roof and provided a detailed quote promptly. He explained everything fully. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances at my end, I’m unable to go forward with this work, but would recommend Can-Do for timeliness, excellent communication, friendliness and professionalism. Across all the trades, there aren’t many Which Trusted Traders operating in my particular area, so I really appreciated Colin coming out.

We had a number of small leaks in way of our house extension skylight windows. CanDo Roofing provided us with a detailed and fair quote for the work required and commenced the work on 30th August. The work involved the removal of tiles in way of both windows, the careful removal of both windows, modification to the supporting window frames, reinstallation of the windows, installation of a new flashing kit and tiles put back in place. The work took approximately two working days and was carried out in a friendly and professional manner. The scaffolding required for the job was installed on time and taken away promptly after the work was completed. The recent wet and windy weather has tested our windows to the full and they are watertight and we could not be more pleased with the work carried out.

Our 1970’s chalet type property has six dormers and a porch cut into the roof. It was suffering from many leaks and due to poor insulation under the tiles was bitterly cold in the winter and incredibly warm in the summer. We opted to have all the tiles, some wooden cladding, the rotten underlay and the flashing removed. CanDo created a warm roof using a seven layer high spec membrane system, replaced Rockwool with insulated panels, relayed the original tiles along with some new and added new flashing, bird guards and tile supports. We cannot recommend CanDo too highly, they delivered a high quality and professional service. Even coming out at a moments notice to reattach a temporary membrane that had come adrift in high winds.

Colin and his team diagnosed the problem and then carried out the work quickly and efficiently. Clean and tidy workmen and problem solved. The price was actually cheaper in the end than the initial quote - honest to a fault. Would definitely recommend and we would use again.

Colin and his team have done a great job installing a tradtional slate roof for me new build. I'm extreamly happy with the finish and the quility of the work. The guys were friendly and easy to work with and everythign was delviered as quoted. I had used CanDo prevoulsy for a tiled roof on another new build which I was equally happy with the quality and looked great. 2 years after install I had an issue with a bit of trim in a period of high winds. The guys came out and fixed it next day with no quibble so great after care support and comitment to quality.

I needed an overhaul of a small but quite complicated tiled roof and all the associated leadwork. Colin arrived on time to quote and provided useful advice and a prompt quote. He scheduled the one day required around other bigger jobs so it was possible to do it much sooner than I expected, which was really helpful. The two roofers were friendly and very good value, completing all the work agreed and more, despite some complications and difficulty of access which could not have been foreseen. All this was done in the day as promised and at the quoted price. A very satisfactory outcome!

Cando have done several relatively small jobs for us over the years but this one required them to re-tile a large part of the roof of our house. The work expanded unexpectedly when the roof timbers were found to be affected by woodworm and had to be replaced. This caused an unavoidable delay while building control approved the new timber structure. Cando managed to retain and treat the woodwork that was visible inside the house while replacing all the structural members supporting the roof. The additional work had to be priced as an extra to the original quote but I felt that the figure was very fair. The work has been done to a high standard and I have full confidence that any issues that may develop will be resolved. Colin and his workmen were great to deal with and took care to tidy up both as they went along and at the end and they have promised to come back and deal with any remaining mess once the scaffolding has been removed. Colin is very responsive on email dealing with the inevitable queries quickly and comprehensively which adds confidence. [Lead no.2023.109]

The main bungalow roof needed felting and re tilling as well as insulation. The replacement tiles were hard to source especially as it needed many more replacements eventually. They carefully replaced any slightly damaged tiles, took down the chimney and the huge Arial systems. They installed a large light pipe, a new vented ridge and fixed the runoff to a flat roofed utility room. We also had a new warm flat roof installed over our extension with the addition of a 2m x 1m flat skylight. When the old roof was stripped it exposed many failing old trusses. The work to fix the woodwork issues and support a 160kg skylight was really excellent. They just got on with the job despite the awful weather and overcame many difficulties and surprises. They worked extremely hard and very professionally. They retained there sense of humour and were super nice the deal with. Amazingly they also carefully cleaned up afterwards. We absolutely recommend Cando roofing. We are completely pleased with their work.

CanDo replaced a roof slate that had fallen down in the winter storms. I got a quote within 3 days which was very clear outlining the work that would be done and the exact budget. They came on time and completed the work quickly and to budget. They were very professional, friendly and clear about what would be done.
