We have worked with John and his team on a couple of occasions, and we will continue to do so. John responds quickly to email inquiries, arranges appointments with ease and sends people are are competent and very pleasant to work with. Not to mention fair prices.

I had a toilet that needed replacing, which included removing the toilet, some work on the connecting pipes, and some joinery around the base. The plumber did all of that and did a thorough job of it. Punctual, thorough, and a reasonable rate.

I had a very small electrical fix need in July 2016. I was concerned that it was such a small job it would not be worth a tradesman's time. John and his team were great. Turned up when they said they would and efficiently dealt with it. I would highly recommend them.

John and his team did a brilliant job. They were able to come at short notice and fix a whole range of issues in one go. They were extremely efficient, effective, helpful and friendly. Would whole-heartedly recommend to others.

just paid my invoice for the first piece of work candofix has done for me. I was delighted. responded quickly to my request for service, made an appointment timely, turned up on time, did the job quickly explained what was going on and different options for rectifying. all now sorted. was an exceptionally good initial quote for the job, which did slightly make me wonder but it turned out as good as could possibly be expected and really really good value. THOROUGHLY recommended!

John has successfully tackled every problem that I've thrown at him (plumbing jobs, repairs etc) - he works efficiently and to a high standard, at very reasonable rates. He also gives thorough explanations of what he's doing, which helps a lot. In my experience of tradesmen in London these qualities are extremely rare. I highly recommend.

John got back to me within minutes of calling me. Explained washing machine was not draining and that it was a new machine. John was really helpful in offering some trouble shooting tips and patient when explaining to me what I could do. Suggested I call him back if problem persists-which it did. He came a short time later and was able to assess the job quickly. Was duly able to sort out problem. John is a very friendly, professional and helpful tradesman. He gave me additional tips which were related to the problem and general maintenance - even fixing the feet that had not been put in by delivery men. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. John and his assistant unblocked my very blocked sink/waste pipe yesterday. He was brilliant - he explained everything he was doing and went above and beyond by replacing a broken washer and then tightening and sealing the pipe. Originally he thought he couldn't unblock the blockage but again was very helpful in suggestions of who to contact but eventually after much work he did unblock it. I would defintely use him again (booking him to re-grout my shower and have other jobs I will ask him to do already!) and I would throughally recommend him. It's really great to now know I have a local handyman who is reliable, don't have to wait ages to get an appoitment with and is the best priced handyman I have come across in my 5 years in being here in Bow.

John and his team fixed a long list of more than 10 items including a broken shower, varnishing and placing a handrail, redoing grouting, repairing broken handles, painting walls and more. All the work was of very good quality, all issues were dealt with well including some particularly awkward jobs where John took considerable trouble to find appropriate fixings and gave good advice. The team did more work than I'd initially asked for without charging more and were a pleasure to deal with, punctual, conscientious and polite. I would highly recommend John and his team. The daily rate is very good value for money.

John and his apprentice provided a very honest and reliable service. They explain everything very clearly, gave us instructions so we could save some money and even followed up our work through telephone post-customer service! Simply amazing!

Agree with other reviews that Candofix are pleasant people but I was disappointed in my experience with them. I used them for a series of jobs and whilst some of these were completed to my satisfaction, there were a few snagging issues on other tasks that needed to be addressed (touching up bare plaster outside for example), which were never completed despite promises to do so.

John recently came to fix a leak in my bathroom. Very good service, came out at unsociable hours over the weekend and still insisted on £35 per hour. Fantastic communication, very tidy work, honest and reliable. SC

John (and his young assistant Bumba) were simply fantastic. They arrived on time, they worked diligently and calmy, they were polite, and John gave me losts of tips and advice for my flat. I highly recommend their work and I will be certainly using Candofix again.

I have used Candofix on several occasions from moving home to assembling furniture and I have always been happy with the service. John has also a great sense of humour which makes his visits very enjoyable. I would recommend Candofix to anyone in need of a handy man.

John arrived on time and advised me of the options available to resolve the problem with the plumbing. He and his colleague were polite and friendly and explained everything clearly (needed for a non DIY person like me). The work was completed quickly and effectively and costs were less than expected. They also tidied up afterwards. I am also impressed that John is providing opportunities through Candofix for youngsters to learn a trade/skill. I've already given details of Candofix to family members/friends.

I am planning to ask John McDonagh to do more work in my house, which in itself is as good a recommendation as you can get

John (with a colleague) came out on a Sunday evening to have a look at a very old and complicated electrical job. Gave very good professional advice and a sensible assessment of what needed to be done, rather than the astronomical and unrealistic estimates we've been given by the many rip-off merchants out there. A very decent, friendly, reliable, honest and generous man. Will certainly use him in future jobs. Thank you, John!

John is everything you want in a handy man - courteous, professional, knowledgeable and very reasonably priced. He delivers everything he promises and more. He is always bang on time, does a fantastic job and gives great advice if you're not sure what you need or should have done, often suggesting much more cost effective ways of doing what you thought would cost a lot more. And unlike almost every other builder, he will actually work for the whole time he is with you, rather than taking taking endless tea breaks. He also makes life very easy for you by making sure he buys and has all the tools and equipment necessary before arriving on site even going so far as to buy all the parts too, even large items like toilets, etc. He was so good on the first job he did for me that I have already booked him in for a whole series of other jobs. The house is going to be amazing once he has finished the work. So so pleased I have found John and am a little hesitant about recommending him to others for fear that he won't have any time left for me! But in all honesty, I can't rate and recommend him highly enough. If you need any kind of building work done, John is DEFINITELY the man to do it. You need look no further.
