We've used Nigel and his team for many years for various projects ranging from large to small and he always makes time to fit us in. Always gives great advice, always turns up on time, always clears up (not always the case with many tradesmen), always friendly and always reliable. Couldn't recommend high enough.

Carringtons removed a 30ft+ tree in my garden. They completed the work efficiently and without damage to the surrounding vegetation. The branches were removed and put through a chipper and the trunk was removed in manageable sized pieces. Small twigs etc were removed in bags leaving the garden clean and tidy. I was impressed with their professionalism and safe working practices. The work was completed on time and on budget. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Carringtons again and would recommend them to anyone needing similar work done.

Following a house move, we needed to seriously prune some of the trees and hedges on the property. Nigel came and gave advice on what needed to be done and what could wait until another year, clearly knowledgeable on the types of trees concerned. Also gave a reasonable quote. Due to other work being done, we had to put Nigel off until we were ready but he was completely understanding and fitted us in once we were ready to proceed. Turned up on the agreed day with a small team who all worked quickly and efficiently to get the work done. They protected other plants and flowers as best as possible while they worked, and removed all cuttings on completion leaving the garden neat and tidy again. They were also very sensitive about the possibility of nesting birds in the trees while they were pruning them. We're very pleased with the result and will happily use him again.

Nigel and his team have done two jobs for me now. The first time they pruned two trees back and cared for and cleared some conifers which had become overgrown. The second time they cut down a tree, shaped another and shaped and cleared some high hard-to-reach hedging. Both times Nigel visited and talked through exactly what I wanted. Nigel and his team provide a very friendly and efficient service which makes dealing with them a pleasure. The eucalyptus tree in my garden was getting out of hand and has been trimmed right back but, still looks a very pleasant shape. Incredibly quick massive eucalyptus tree clearance followed by further two tree clearances and two additional tree surgeries with further smaller trees and undergrowth also cleared. Logging and stacking of the wood for future use was also undertaken. All to agreed schedule and price and with excellent garden tidying post the work. Very friendly very efficient and a really good job by a skilled and pleasant team led by Nigel. Thoroughly recommended.

Carrington are a very professional company. They were very polite. Cleared up everything behind them. The work carried out was on 2 conifer trees that were very close together and had grown exceptionally tall and bushy. They trimmed them in height and width and made them look like one tree. Exceptional work and my trees now look fantastic. I would definitely recommend. Very good value for money.

Mr. Carrington visited us in June and advised that the best time to complete the work would be October / November. Note that we had contacted a number of companies, who either did not return calls / emails or quoted a ridiculous price without seeing the tree!!!! We agreed a fair market price & date in October. They arrived around 7.30am and immediately started work setting up ther equipment. Prior to starting we spoke and agreed on how far we wanted the tree cut back and shaping. The work was carried out to a very professional standard and we could not be happier with result. This is the third time that we have had the tree cut and I have to say that it is the only time that our garden was completely cleared of all the cuttings. I will definitely be contacting them again when the tree needs to be cut again.

This was the first time we’ve used Carringtons, and they were selected based upon feedback received from others… We were not disappointed.. the team are really knowledgeable on the subject and advised to leave our Magnolia tree until the frost season had ended. Nigel put us in the diary and called to arrange the date as promised, once the frosts had gone. The team arrived on time and quickly got to work. Watching them operate you can see the attention to detail that went into not only thinning the tree out, but in ensuring it still had a really good visual impact when looked at. They tidied everything away.. the chipper looks so much fun.. and swept the driveway clean of wayward branches, leaves etc. Cannot recommend Carringtons high enough.. Will definitely be calling them back again in the future.

This was the third occasion on which we have used Nigel's services for tree pruning and clearance. Each time, we found him knowledgeable and professional. He listened to our requests, suggested the best way to trim back two trees (and a wildly overgrown hedge), then carried out our instructions at the time and cost we had previously agreed. Nigel and his team were approachable and courteous at all times, and it was a pleasure to do business with them.

Always worth having a qualified tree surgeon instead of a 'cowboy'. Advice given and all my requests carried out fully. Communication, time keeping, price all were superb. The agreed work was discussed before starting, checking the 'brief' given when quoting for the job. I was asked many times during the morning if I was satisfied and they were cheerfully obliging until I was. A couple of small extras also thrown in for good measure. Nigel arrived promptly on time and removed a large pyracanth (the spikes do not make this the most attractive job) which went very smoothly. In addition he and his two colleagues reshaped perfectly a mimosa. Very pleased with the results.

We used Nigel to fell a troublesome conifer and cut back and trim multiple other conifers, large shrubs and smaller trees, as well as cutting and killing a large ivy growth. On making contact and describing the work we wanted done, an appointment was duly arranged - which was kept - on time - and work required, discussed and quoted for, accordingly, plus a date for the work, booked. On the day, Nigel and his team arrived exactly at the agreed time and promptly proceeded with the work, as discussed. Nigel and his colleagues were all very amicable, approachable and worked very well together. After completing the work - which was excellent - all branches and debris were cleared away - with absolutely no trace they had ever been on site. The work was invoiced as quoted. Arrived on time. Nigel and his 2 helpers worked continually and in a very safe manner taking down a large conifer. Left every thing neat and tidy including neighbours garden which the tree overhung. Reasonably priced considering the work involved.

Nigel and his colleagues agreed to reshape the tree in our front garden and carry out "major surgery" to the large hedge. The tree was reduced by circa 30% and looks much more tidy and is probably healthier. The hedge was reduced in height and about 50% of its depth. I now have an extra metre of garden! All work was carried out professionally and safely. Very pleasant team to have on site and once complete all traces of debris removed. More than happy to recommend Nigel and his colleagues.

Nigel and his team pruned a large multi-stemmed silver birch and reduced the height and width of a long hedge at the side of the property. I have been using Nigel for several years to Prune a large Laurel hedge at the bottom of my garden, he is always reliable and arrives promptly on the day. He has to work in my garden and also in my neighbors at the rear, he and his team work quickly and safely and always leave the two gardens tidy. In the past he has also renewed a 6ft Panel and Concrete post fence which is still as straight and true as the day it was done. Eight leylandii trees at the back of my garden had become overgrown. Nigel and his team advised on how much could be taken off without killing them and did the work in one morning. No rubbish whatsoever left behind and trees left looking good. Good price as well. Recommended.

I contacted Nigel because I needed an old multi trunked tree taken down. Also I have 2 conifer hedges that had been neglected for 2 years. Nigel arrived promptly on the agreed day and carried out the required work. A lad was helping to clear the debris with quite a walk from front to back of the property. Nigel and his highly courteous, professional, and capable team pollarded a large Ash tree and sculpted an Acer for us today. We have used Nigel many times, and are always pleased with his results. Yet again Carringtons have done a fantastic job, cutting back several large trees and for the first time trimming and shaping our shrubs. Having completed the work they were also very efficient in tidying up and I cant recommend them highly enough.

I have been using Carrington's Tree Surgery for many years and they always do a fabulous job. Not only do they understand trees and how to cut them (rather than just hack at them like some) but they show utmost respect for my garden and structures. The latest job required them to reduce a 60ft ash tree to a single trunk, down to around 30ft. Immediately underneath on one side was a greenhouse, to the other side a selection of extremely rare plants. The whole job was carried out quickly and efficiently.

I had a large birch tree to be drastically trimmed, two dead trees to be removed. Conifers and large shrubs to be shaped and a massive strawberry tree hedge to be reduced in height. Nigel and crew phoned and let me know when they would arrive. Worked efficiently without any bother to myself. Gave great advise which I took and the outcome was amazing. They certainly know what they are doing and know their trees and plants. The garden was cleared and swept clean before they left. All done in half a day! I definitely recommend them.

Nigel then came and gave me an estimate to reduce and shape one medium sized tree and fell and remove three smaller trees. The estimate was very reasonable. His first job on our new property was undertaken in May 2016 when we needed 3 massive conifers to be removed plus to chip lots of hedge debris from a previous fencing job. Nigel visited the site to review the job, if asked he would provide advise, and quote. Nigel was meticulous in taking notes, to ensure he followed what was agreed too. Nigel and his team undertook a professional and tidy job. His team were all a pleasure to have on site - polite, industrious and client focused. We needed more work done in Jan 2017 so naturally Nigel was our first choice. He is popular (has a loyal customer base) but will manage expectations about waiting times and will confirm exact date 7-10 days before. Nigel turns up on time, is considerate to neighbours/pedestrians and our invoices matched the price quoted. I would whole heartedly recommend Nigel and would trust him with any tree/heavy garden cutback work.
