Chalk & Brown

Chalk and Brown gave me a fair estimate for the work and suggested an excellent paint. The finished job is excellent, I can recommend them fully.

They were very pleasant punctual, friendly worked quickly and thoroughly. Work place was kept neat and tidy. Highly recommend.

We had our living room + dining room decorated by Chalk & Brown 15 years ago. Frankly, other than a desire to have a change of mood, their original work still looked in great shape because of the care they took back then. Also proves that ultimately quality is the cheapest option. Thankfully, some things don't change and the prep work was very thorough this time with Gary keeping an eagle eye on every detail. Work was completed on time and in budget and final result looks superb. Paul even fixed our door that wasn't quite catching following an off-the-cuff remark from me. It is that sort of detail and customer care that sets them apart. Nothing too much trouble, bring their own coffee(!) and we barely had to hoover once they were done. I cannot recommend highly enough.

This is the third time we have asked Chalk and Brown back to decorate our home for us on account of their skills and professionalism. They do not subcontract so you know exactly who is doing the work and can be assured of a totally trusted delivery to the highest specification and within the budget agreed. They are also extremely competent at addressing smaller carpentry/fiddly jobs which inevitably arise along the way when decorating and manage to take everything within their stride. After completion they clean the areas they have worked in to a very high standard. They may not be the cheapest but they are unequivocally the best.

We have used Chalk and Brown for 25 years for interior and exterior painting, and, various carpentry jobs. Their work is meticulous, professional and carried out to the very highest standards. They keep to quotes and are very friendly and helpful. We have no hesitation at all in recommending them.

Gary and Paul did an excellent job. I’m fussy and they did an excellent job. That’s how good they are. I have nothing bad to say as all the other reviews say it all and I’d just be repeating it all. Book them in and you’ll see. We are already booking next three rooms to do. Will have to wait, but we can be patient.

We highly recommend Chalk and Brown, the only caveat being that they do such a good job and are honest about timescales so there may be a long wait to get them but it is worth it! We have seen their van in our area over the years and tried them for the first time ourselves to paint and make good a large attic room and two bathrooms, this included making and fixing a back board for a curtain rail. Work was completed with care within agreed timescales using good quality products and employing equipment my husband envies - sander with vacuum cleaner which meant no dust crept anywhere. We are already trying to book them for external work and more decorating inside! Yes they are not the cheapest but they are value for money.

Gary and Paul redecorated a number of rooms in our house including hall , landing and stairs. Their work is of exceptional quality. They work really hard, expertly prepping all walls and ceilings before painting. It's a quality job . They are always on time, are extremely friendly and always clear up at the end of each day. This is the second time we have used Chalk & Brown. They decorated one floor of our house (two bedrooms and a bathroom). Why we use them? 1. They are complete professionals who works to the highest standards and always do an excellent job 2. They are completely self sufficient 3. They are very pleasant people to deal with They are not the cheapest but I've found you get what you pay for. Would recommend them without hesitation and will use them again. Because of their reputation Gary and Paul are always very busy so be aware you may have a long lead-time for their services.
