we desperately needed a stairlift, phoned Chapter, and the salesman Chris came on the 9th of Feb, we explained the situation regarding the urgency and he bent over backwards to fit us in as soon as possible. Nick, the fitter came on the afternoon of the 11th Feb. The lift was up and running in no time, a quick run through the operating instructions and whoosh he was gone and apart from the stairlift you would not know he had been. Having decided I needed a stair lift I was most disappointed to be told that the rake of my stairs was too large and the stairs too narrow and that a stair lift installation may not be possible. I live in a Victorian cottage. I was given the telephone numbers of two local companies who might be able to help. (I wanted to use a local company.) I obtained quotes and decided to go with Chapter Living Solutions. I was talked through the whole process. I had to wait 8 days. Installation took about 3 hours and was completed without any disruption to my day and no disruption to my house decorations. Walls and stairs were left unmarked. Before the engineer left he made sure I knew exactly how the lift worked with me using a number of times under his supervision. I was also given a 2 year warranty saying I would contacted February 2027 with an service appointment. I was also given a 24/7 telephone number in case of breakdown together with an instruction manual. When told installing a lift might not be possible the only alternative would have been to sell up and buy a bungalow, which would not be viable due to the cost. I am very pleased with my lift. I can get up and down stairs so easily now instead of dreading going upstairs. Also I get to stay in my home of 25 years.
