We are very happy with our loft conversion. All the staff in the office were very friendly and helpful. We greatly appreciated having weekly visits from a project manager to discuss the progress of the work and to talk about any concerns that we had. All the trades people were very friendly and respectful of our property. The fitters, electricians, plumber, and plasterers all completed the work to a high standard. Although the work didn't start until later than we were led to expect and the actual build took longer than anticipated, we are very happy with the end result and would definitely recommend Grovesnor to other people thinking about a loft conversion.

We are very happy with our loft conversion. All the staff from head office were very helpful. The work was also completed to a high standard by the fitters, electricians, plumber and plasterers. The work didn't start till later than we were told and it took longer than expected to complete but the end result was excellent.

Had to cancel my loft installation due to cost of living going up I just couldn't justify having this done. Placed over 4k on deposit. Now been told I will only receive £400 back, absolute joke. I can understand being charged for surveyors fees but not for admin /diagram charges. Having to wait 2 weeks for a reply to be told the negative news, just delaying payment. Very dissatisfied. I would urge anyone to think twice and ensure you go ahead with your plans, if you don't you'll be hit hard like I did. Directors have not been touch, you took 4k and compensated 400. Advised to take this to Ombudsman and watchdog

I can't recommend Charles Grosvenor highly enough. The whole process from the initial quote, through to final completion was incredibly professional and (perhaps most importantly) had the highest level of customer service and support, I've ever experienced from a building company. The final result is brilliant and the whole team (of which there are many) were polite, quick to respond and supported every step of the way. Definitely recommeded.

From start to finish the whole team at Charles Grosvenor were a pleasure to deal with. From Maxine, Hayley and Alan in the office coordinating everything to Darren & Brad on site. Nothing was too much trouble and no question felt silly to ask. The site team were efficient and respectful of being in the house and to our neighbours which was really important to me. The finish of the work was excellent and I was well informed throughout the process from the point of signing the contract until the final day on site to sign off the work. Russ' expertise and knowledge was really helpful when it came to making decisions and all of the tradespeople that work alongside the team including the scaffolders, the plumber (Robbie) and the electricians were all a joy to work with. I would highly recommend Charles Grosvenor if you are considering a loft conversion. They were recommended to me by a friend and I have since recommended them to a friend. A lot of their work is via referrals and you can see why. You spend a lot of money on these types of building works and you really will be in safe hands with the team.

Charles Grosvenor Ltd converted the loft on our quite large 1970's house to create a new staircase and two bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms. Also, the work included the replacement of the existing CH boiler and tank. After the initial review by the surveyor, it appeared that the conversion was not going to be possible due to a combination of the complex existing roof structure and the logistics challenges of moving materials to a location from a roadside truck to the worksite without damaging our drive. Each of these challenges were overcome by Grosvenor's. The loft design was reworked several times up to and including during the installation. The materials supply issues were overcome by building a temporary large elevated platform on the front lawn which could be reached by a crane from the road. The existing driveway was given temporary protection by laying sheets of timber when heavy vehicles were needed to make drops. Throughout, great care was exhibited by all of the workmen who visited. Overall the time and cost was revised throughout the job to reflect agreed changes. There was a time overrun but largely due to additional requests from ourselves and third party work such as decorating. Throughout the job, we felt included in the decision making and were supported by the project manager. The impression we were left with was very positive and would therefore have no reservations in recommending them for even the most complex loft conversion.

Charles Grosvenor recently completed our loft conversion. My roof space was tight and if I am honest I was worried about the overall head height. There really was no need to worry as the end result is perfect. The build started a little earlier tha planned which was perfect for us. The builders were very good. Clean, tidy, punctual, with great communication making sure I was happy at each step of the dormer installation. Nothing was too much hassle even when we wanted to change the layout a little. Just and second fixes for electric and plumbing went well. Again the guys are a credit to the Grosvenor team. This is the first time that I have ever had any kind of building work done, and could be quite daunting. The team made this really easy, stress free and problem free. I really hope that all building companies are like this! I would kost definitely recommend Charles Grosvenor to anyone thinking of a loft conversion. More than happy for people to come and see the work carried out!

I am absolutely delighted with our replacement oak staircase, supplied and fitted by Charles Grosvenor From the initial call, visit from Chris to find out what we needed, quote from Simon with a suitable fitting date, then the actual fitting by Matt & Miles, and Linda in the finance department they have been a pleasure to deal with. I will make particular mention of Matt & Miles, they were amazing a absolute pleasure to have working in our home, two lovely gentleman who worked hard, left the area clean and tidy and did a really good job all round. I would highly recommend their services and am very pleased with our new staircase

We had our loft converted in 2021. Overall, we were happy with the service delivered by Charles Grosvenor. There were a few issues during the works, but Charles Grosvenor were always quick to resolve.

We contacted Charles Grosvenor regarding converting the loft in our bungalow. From the very first phone call it was clear that this was an extremely professional and experienced company. We spoke to other companies but quite frankly none were in the same league as Charles Grosvenor. On the initial visit Paul spent a good hour with us firstly checking the space but also understanding what we wanted and discussing options for stair position etc. We were very happy with the proposed plans which included a master bedroom with dressing area and en-suite bathroom and study and we gave them the go ahead for the work. Throughout the whole process from initial plans to contracts to planning permission to the build itself the communication was always excellent. All costs, time frames and processes were clearly explained and all of the staff were friendly and professional. The tradesmen were knowledgeable and always arrived on time and were friendly and helpful. We had regular visits from Russell so that he could check on the work but also answer any questions we had and make sure we were happy. Our loft conversion is now complete and we are absolutely delighted not just with the space but with our decision to have the work done by Charles Grosvenor. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

All staff from office to trade, helpful, enthusiastic and skilled at what they do. Weekly visits to discuss progress and next stage of works and who will be responsible for it. Liaise with appropriate regulating bodies and provide all necessary official paperwork promptly. Workers arrive promptly and notice is given when skip, scaffolding, material arrivals expected. Easy to get hold of on the telephone if you have any queries and dealt with quickly and politely. Very high standard of work giving our home a new lease of life and adding character. Overjoyed at the outcome.

Charles Grosvenor converted our loft into a fabulous space, with a large bedroom and bathroom and huge storage area - that was connected to the first floor with a bespoke staircase. They agreed a plan and stuck to it, in particular adapting the schedule to satisfactorily deal with lock down. They were also flexible and could accommodate changes that we asked for and they handled the related price adjustments in a business-like way. For example, we added a few extras round the house, such as electrical improvements. The finish was good and decorating could be carried out without undue preparation. The team were generally a delight to deal with. The office staff provided great support and planned well ahead, so there weren't any surprises, and the onsite team were also easy to deal with. At the end of the job, they took the time to ensure that things were completed satisfactorily.

Our Charles Grosvenor Loft conversion has made a huge impact on my families lives! We have had a hip to gable, dormer plus Velux installed. New stair case, first floor adjusted and matched to existing stair case details. They were quick, clean, tidy and v accommodating. The guys on site were friendly, highly professional and flexible, even to my 2 year old sons nap times!! The whole job was completed in just under 25 days! Having this extra space now means that all my children have a bedroom. Our relatives can have a double bed in our house rather than staying in a local hotel or b&b. The job was completed to budget and before the predicted end date. Russell, Darren and the whole office team were simply a pleasure to work with. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

This is the second loft conversion that Charles Grosvenor have completed for us. We were so pleased with the first that when we moved house, we got in touch with them straight away for another! They are consistently helpful, their work is done to a high standard, communication is excellent, and when a few issues arose they were resolved very quickly and thoroughly. The work was completed according to the agreed budget and schedule. We are delighted with the two rooms they have created for us in our new home, and would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone.

We had a full width dormer loft conversion with work completed by Charles Grosvenor Limited. The work was completed to a high standard , on time and within budget. The Charles Grosvenor team were helpful throughout the process , providing excellent communications and responsive customer service. The tradesmen were all polite , helpful and produced good quality work. We are very pleased with the end result and we would recommend Charles Grosvenor Limited for similar work.

Awful experience from start to finish. Builders who didn’t show up, turned up late and leave early. Damage to our property caused by the builder not securing the access hole correctly when leaving to be off site for a week, which allowed rain to enter our property. The damaged was meant to be be fixed by plasterer and decorated, the plasterer forgot that room so had to be called back and the decorating never took place. When builder was meant to return to finish job, he didn’t show up due to illness. When he returned on the Friday he was late and became aggressive and swore in front of my young children. He then walked off the job. Our job had to be finished by a mixture of different people, which was not done to a high standard and not a great deal of care taken. When contacting directors to complain they said that my husband aggravated the builder by asking what time he called it when he showed up late. I have had nothing but poor customer service from this company, I feel let down and the whole situation left me highly stressed. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Over the years I have had a number building firms carry our work for me, some good some very average . How refreshing to find a building firm that sticks to its quality of service and its professionalism. All the work is carried out with the customer in mind, any problems are immediately rectified. Russell Annis our project manager was always there to make sure the work measured up to our expectations. All the staff and builders we came in contact with at Charles Grosvenor were polite and helpful. Unfortunately good building firms are rare, Charles Grosvenor is one of the best. PS My build was a tricky one as I converted a loft in a full size Barn, but it looks stunning.

Charles Grosvenor have been brilliant from start to finish. Customer service has been flawless - everyone we met from the company were friendly and professional. They were realistic about time scales and kept us up to date throughout the process. They may not be the cheapest option but SO worth spending the extra money as they communicate and liaise with everyone -builders, scaffolders, electricians and plumbers - getting everything organised without any stress from our end! We were especially delighted with the size of our new room - our loft was really small and they somehow managed to create a really beautiful open space with a new staircase and it's totally transformed our house! I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

We employed this company to undertake a part build loft conversion for us in a 1960s bungalow, providing 2 bedrooms and a shower room. They undertook the main part of the building work including the planning application and we completed the job (insulation, electrics, plumbing and plasterwork). Their work was quick, efficient and clean, main build took just 3 and a half weeks. We were kept informed throughout and with regular site visits we were able to make some decisions as the job progressed. The personable staff both on site and in the offices made it a pleasurable rather than stressful experience, I would recommend them to anyone thinking of transforming a roof space into a useful living space. They know their stuff!

From the earliest consultation with Paul to the build, and the customer management by Russell, I was very impressed with Charles Grosevenor: Their support staff back in the office were also very helpful with dealing with any queries and even helped us source door knobs that were a close match to the ones we had elsewhere in the house. At the start it was the ideas offered by Paul with respect to how we should accommodate our stairs up to the loft space impressed me. In addition Charles Grosevenor were very accommodating in waiting for us to be in a position to start the work over a year after our initial consultation. When a start date was agreed everything went to plan. All the builders/tradesmen always turned up as agreed at a time which allowed us to continue going to work whilst the conversation went ahead. All the tradesmen respected the house by tidying up after themselves and were always very polite and accommodating. The work was completed within the estimated timescale and to a good standard and Russel was always on hand to check we were happy on dealt with any snags. What I liked about working with Charles Grosevenor was that I felt that I didn't need to worry about anything as they looked after everything. I therefore would recommend Charles Grosevenor to anyone considering a loft conversion.

Our loft conversion is amazing! Charles Grosvenor were amazing. They really know what they are doing because they have so much experience just converting lofts. That meant they had some great ideas that really worked. They also got the maximum living space out of our loft for us. Now that it is done we realise the space you get makes the most difference. They were also able to use their experience and ideas to create a very beautiful space you want to spend time in. Paul who initially came out to see us when we enquired about using the company did not try to hard sell us but talked through what was possible and as someone who used to install the lofts himself his experience was really informative. Russell who project managed everything and everyone who worked on the loft were brilliant and could not do more to help or to answer any question we had. If there was ever a problem or a change we wanted to make .... during the conversion or after..... Russell did not hesitate to get it fixed. We are very happy. If I had to have another loft conversion I would not hesitate to use these guys! In fact both my neighbours have / are using them. They are experts in converting lofts and a pleasure to deal with.
