Chelsfield Solar is one of the pioneers of solar PV in the UK, designing and installing since 2002. We are specialists in PV and are a highly experienced team of accredited installers and also electrical contractors since 1998 with an outstanding reputation for professionalism, integrity and attention to detail. We provide a complete integration service for solar PV including design, project management, supply and installation for domestic, commercial and community use. We operate throughout the South East including London.

Our first installation in 2010 was for solar panels and along with the vast majority of your customers we received great advice, fault free installation, and clean and tidy working. The inverter failed some years later and was replaced with equally good work. Our second installation 2 years later was for further panels in advance of the FiT rates dropping and was equally efficient. Inverter failed some years later and was replaced at minimal cost to us, by Mike We have just had three further panels on a different facing roof and a battery installed this week which is neat and tidy, they were in and out in the day They always turn up when they say, they arrange everything and appear to charge fairly. Unlike some Solar firms they are still around many years after first installation and appear to be set to stay in business for a long while to come - rightly so.

Contacted Chelsfield Solar to increase the battery capacity of my existing Givenery battery system. They had fitted the existing system some 2 years ago. Sent them some photos of the system and from that they were able to provide a quote which was acceptable. The upgrade was fitted a couple of weeks later with no issues. They were professional, competent, friendly, and a pleasure to deal with and I would certainly recommend them.

Needed new Inverter
My inverter for the Solar had stopped functioning. So It didn’t matter how much sun we were having my system was not working. I called on the Monday and explained my problem, this company had installed the system some 10 years earlier, they held all my details and were able to order the inverter immediately. Two days later, a team arrived and installed the inverter, which took them 30 minutes. I was extremely pleased with their performance and the speed at which this all took place. Fortunately, they had the inverter in their stock, which was an added bonus. This was only the second time I’ve had trouble with the Solar, and on each occasion, they have dealt with me in a personal and efficient way. Many thanks to a well run crew.

We shoppe around for PV installers, got a referral from a friend and got Chelsfield round for a quote. They were by far the most knowledgable and clear on what options we had. They did some extra cabling work for us to make our set up easier. Installation was done on a rotten weather day but they didn’t flinch, did the work, and left no mess. It all works great and they talked me through the management & monitoring of the system.

We had solar panels installed whilst converting our loft and replacing the roof taking advantage of the scaffolding already there. Natalie provided clear and helpful advice on the phone for which type of system would work best with the design of the roof (completely different and more efficient than my thoughts). The company has been easy to deal with, efficient and professional. Chelsfield liaised directly with the loft company. The struts for the panels incurred an additional expense as did the detailed plans hence extending the time to recoup costs but this was not the primary aim. I would definitely recommend this company.

We contacted Chelsfield Solar about a problem with pigeons underneath our solar panels and the resulting earthing faults. From the first phone call they had a good understanding of the situation. They were prompt in responding and efficient in the work they had to do. At all stages they were courteous and helpful, explaining what they had to do. We felt confident in what they were doing. Chelsfield Solar will be our first choice for help if there are any further problems with our system. We strongly recommend them.

When we started considering solar panels Chelsfield were recommended to us. They gave excellent advice - they really know what they are talking about - with absolutely no pressure. The date of the installation was agreed, and it was started and completed on that day. All the work was finished very tidily. There was information and advice given by the electrician on the day, and a pack followed very shortly afterwards. Nothing is too much trouble.

Solar and batteries fitted, after sales good to start then trailed off. Owner came to try to sort problems but advised got him beat and he would look into it possibly three to four months ago no contact since, even though I have sent Mike photo's, I then texted Natalie on 24th June 2022 who advised she would get back to me still no contact. My Energi has been excellent we were sold their App with the solar we have had two new hubs trying to solve the problem and they then advised me (talked me through it) to switch the wires on one hub, It now works perfectly (fingers crossed) So the installation was incorrect for the last eighteen months. Would not recommend.

For what we paid for an inspection of our solar installation - £192 - I now realise (after having had a proper inspection by a very good firm) that Chelsfield were useless. They stayed about 30 minutes, picked up one obvious fault and left. Days later we had to prompt them for the written report, which they had forgotten about. Claimed they could not inspect everything due to 'lack of light'. Fact check - there is lighting in the loft; and torches can be bought cheaply! They missed all the critical faults picked up by another company. Should have given us our money back. Such a poor and unfriendly service.
