Before work began, we discussed removing an existing shed, but I later discovered this had been excluded from the quotation. During excavation, one of my security cameras was repeatedly disabled, and a gate stopper that was specifically meant to be retained was discarded. There were also issues with organisation, including workers spending hours waiting for materials, resulting in little progress being made. The quality of workmanship raised concerns when edging was installed incorrectly on a curved boundary, failing to follow the garden's shape. Damage was also caused to a shed, its base, and a paving slab, yet I was not informed and discovered it myself. The most significant issue involved the agreed double-border design. It was clearly documented, illustrated, and displayed on-site. Despite raising concerns during installation, I was reassured the design was understood. However, the trim was installed incorrectly, the promised confirmation before resin installation was never provided, and the work proceeded without my approval. The finished result did not match the signed specification. What was most frustrating was the lack of urgency in resolving these issues. Communication was inconsistent, updates were delayed, and I was forced to repeatedly chase progress. While mistakes can happen, I expect a contractor to follow agreed specifications, communicate openly, and take responsibility when problems arise.
