Chris and his team are real craftsmen. Our experience of their work was during an interior repaint of our whole (small) house. We continued to live there & they worked with and around us. The quality of work was first-class, with a high level of attention to detail. They were very tidy with the way they went about the job and everything was put away at night causing minimum inconvenience to us, certainly much less than anticipated. They arrived on time every morning and were a pleasure to have in the house. I would not hesitate to have Chris return in the future. But as he is much in demand now I would feel lucky to have him back.

We have used Chris on more than one occasion to decorate bedrooms, landings, staircases, reception rooms and the kitchen. He is a professional to his fingertips with a meticulous attention to detail. He also is a master wallpaper and painting expert. Inconvenience during the decorating process is kept to an absolute minimum. I would go as far as to say he is friendly and a pleasure to have about the house. And I say this as a Manchester City fan of a Manchester United supporter. I cannot speak too highly of Chris.

We have used Chris several times. His work is flawless. Being a bit messy myself, I am always amazed at how clean and tidy he is. Latest job was to repaint our master bedroom. Brilliant work with minimal disruption. He also touched up some unscheduled tasks on the landing and kitchen.

We're so pleased we chose Chris to paint our kitchen cabinets. They look great. I got three quotes and he was the lowest of those who visted the house to see the work involved. He turned up when he said he would and carefully protected the elements not being painted befgore preparing all the surfaces properly. While he was in the house he was clean, tidy, considerate and polite. Plenty of communication before arriving to make sure we were ready for him and we had chosen the paint colour. I'd definitely recommend.

Chris redecorated my sitting room after I had a new fireplace installed. I wanted a variety of jobs doing i.e the polystyrene coving removed and replaced with Gyproc coving, the old plastered walls smoothed and filled, the old skirting board around the fireplace (which had been damaged and broken when removed to install the new fireplace) made good and reattached, the walls lined with lining paper prior to putting up the wallpaper. Whatever preparation/remedial work is required Chris has the expertise to handle it and has a skilled assistant to help when a two man job is required e.g when putting up the heavy coving. I am a perfectionist and require the job finished to a very high standard and nothing else marked or damaged in the process. Chris is meticulous in his preparation and even bought heavy duty dust sheets to ensure my light coloured carpets were protected. Nothing is too much trouble for him and after he had finished decorating he helped me attach the television to the wall mount and put up a mirror. He has as always done a fabulous job with which I am delighted. Chris is the best - you won’t find a better decorator.

Chris and his team painted the outside of the house and did a high quality job, was considerate and left everything neat and tidy afterwards. Chris is highly recommended.

Chris has been decorating my house for over 25years. His work is always of the highest standard. On this occasion he re painted my lounge/dining room. As always he took time to protecting my floors and furniture before beginning the work, also ensuring my lounge was usable every evening, moving the sofa back and reconnecting the tv, nothing is too much trouble. Chris kindly quoted me for full decoration of both bedrooms in my flat. He gave a clear outline of what work might be needed given the current condition, what his quote included and a timescale. He was also able to connect me with a local joiner to create wardrobe doors that would be ready for his agreed start date. The work was completed within the expected timeframe and budget, and the finish is beautiful. I appreciated his guidance on how to tackle problems with the walls, which he worked very hard to resolve. We have used Chris a number of times now having seen the many positive reviews on this website and have never been disappointed. Chris is very reliable, trustworthy (he decorated several rooms while we went away on holiday), very clean, tidy and is an excellent decorator. He takes a lot of pride and trouble over his work which results in a high quality finish. As an example of his attention to detail we had our staircase refurbished in oak but couldn’t find prefinished internal doors that we liked and that matched the staircase finish. Chris took away a sample of the oak veneer and was able to find a varnish that produced a very good match. We then purchased unfinished doors which Chris decorated. We were delighted with the result. If you are looking for a decorator you should definitely consider Chris Roach.

Chris arranged the redecoration of our downstairs and upstairs hallway and stairwell (preparing walls and woodwork, lining paper, painting). Both he and Sorin, who carried out the work, were a pleasure to deal with, great communication throughout the process, lots of good suggestions to improve the finish and very reliable. Everything was completed on time and on budget. They were punctual, tidy, unobtrusive and respectful. The quality of the work definitely exceeded my expectations and I would be very confident to recommend them.

I called Chris, my trusty decorator, to rectify water damage in my hallway. This involved cutting back part of a lath and plaster ceiling and replacing it with plasterboard and plastering over to make the joins seamless. Additionally part of a plasterboard wall, coving and a few drops of water damaged wallpaper needed replacing. All this repair work has been done perfectly and totally seamlessly and no one would know there had ever been any damage. Before work started Chris protected the existing non damaged wallpaper with wall protector attached to coving and the carpet with dust sheets and a carpet protector. Chris is so careful and pays attention to detail you can relax knowing nothing else will be damaged or marked in the process. He is very organised and exceptionally clean and tidy. He is a thoroughly nice guy and an amazing decorator - the best. I really cannot recommend him highly enough. Sue Moody Pinner

I found Chris Roach after reading the very favourable recommendations left on this website and having benefited hugely from those reviews, am now only too pleased to leave my own review following excellent service received. I contacted Chris after another tradesman had let us down; in essence, Chris had to salvage a bit of a mess for us and to short order. Chris’ communications were excellent, he turned up on time and when he said he would, proved himself to be an outstanding decorator, hard-working, conscientious and, above all, his services were to the highest order. We are delighted to have found such an excellent tradesman, top class.

Chris dealt with one wall of my house that had suffered from penetrating damp when rain leaked through window frames where the seal had broken. He replastered and painted the interior of the wall, and then fixed the cracks and repainted the exterior of the wall, ensuring that the window frames were weatherproof. I am so pleased with the result. Everything was done to a very high standard, and the disruption was minimal. Chris and his workers left everything clean and tidy. Without exception they were all so pleasant and I really recommend this company.

Chris did a delicate job on repairing and repainting our ceiling. Chris was very diligent in his preparation and work. A very pleasant person who communicates well and is obviously very proud of his work. He also is punctual and delivers on his words. Would I recommend him? Yes, yes and yes again! The guy is a star!

One wall in my living room needed replastering after penetrating damp from a broken window frame. Chris gave me good advice and a sensible quote, and that, combined with reviews, helped me make my decision. I am very glad. The plastering was done quickly, to a very high standard, and without any mess. Then the wall was repainted, again without unnecessary disturbance and the room was left tidy afterwards. I am very happy with the result and I am going to ask Chris to repaint the external wall for added peace of mind. I am confident he will do a good job. I have used Chris to decorate my house for approximately 6 years. I am fussy and particular about the standard and quality of work undertaken in my house and Chris always does an outstanding job - I have also recommended him to several of my friends who are equally impressed. He provides written estimates detailing exactly the scope of the works and invoices you accordingly. He is very considerate of the running of your family home and adapts his work routines accordingly. Chris is our decorator of choice and we would highly recommend him.

We have used Chris for our decorating needs for over 20 years now. He has always done a fantastic job for us. This time, Chris repainted the ceiling after a leak in the bathroom above had badly stained it, painted the kitchen walls which are now as good as the day the kitchen was fitted, painted the bathroom ceiling and finally added a feature wall to the bedroom. The feature wall looks fantastic and he made hanging a tricky beaded wallpaper look easy! The house is always left clean and tidy and he even knows to make sure our indoor cat doesn't get out ! Chris has spent the past 10 months with us and we couldn’t be more pleased with how our home is looking. Chris was recommended to me by a friend who couldn’t speak more highly of him. I can see why. Chris has done a couple of small painting jobs for me, before totally redecorating my bedroom and back room. Obviously, having my bedroom ‘out of action’ was going to be disruptive, but Chris was willing to do whatever was necessary to minimise this, to the point of putting up my sofa bed in the back room. We employed Chris to redecorate our hall, stairs and landing which were in rather a poor state. From stripping off the old paint encrusted anaglypta wallpaper right through to the re-painting of the walls and woodwork Chris did a great job. We are very pleased with the resulting transformation.

The fifth job Chris has now done for us, all to the same superb standard. We appreciate Chris's professionalism and were very reassured by his attention to Covid restrictions while working in our house. Having stripped the old embossed wallpaper and arranged for an excellent plasterer to re-skim the ceiling, Chris has created beautifully smooth painted walls and ceiling. The painting of the woodwork is also second to none. Chris took great care to protect the oak floor and a sofa that could not be removed from the room, leaving the room immaculately clean at the end of the job. Chris is an excellent decorator who we would highly recommend.

Chris decorated my lounge and bedroom, both painting and papering, he did a fantastic job, the finish is really good. Even now I look at the painting which Chris did with a roller and wonder how he is able to achieve a flat finish with none of the usual stipple and roller effect. In relation to time keeping and tidiness, there were no issues with either, Chris arrived as agreed and left everything clean and tidy at the end of the day. Chris was recommended to us by a friend when we were looking to redecorate our hall and dining room, but when lockdown was imposed we commissioned him to repaint our conservatory exterior then the interior, which could be accessed without entering the house. The standard of Chris' work, his punctuality and dedication to putting in a full day were impressive. Used Chris for the first time (found him on this website!) to decorate my dining room, extension and kitchen. Chris is totally professional and reliable, from first meeting, sending the quote, providing colour charts and finding a gap to fit the job in before Christmas. He even found the electrician I used to remove old light fittings and other electrical work that needed doing. But I want to thank Duncan for his friendly, relaxed & comfortable approach to his customer who was a vulnerable older adult. Having someone who did not make my brother feel uncomfortable was almost more important than the quality of the work done. Over the last few months Chris has returned to repaint our two staircases, two landings and our ground floor hall. As it was a large job it was split into three visits. As ever Chris was meticulous about preparing surfaces for painting. He also was not phased by our request to leave the Wm Morris wallpaper untouched and did a magnificent job in covering it up and did not drop a spot of paint on it. We are very pleased with the final result.

Several fiddly jobs around the house including making good door frames (after new internal doors replaced), fixing damp damaged walls and repairing cracked coving. Some decorators might find any one of these jobs too small to bother with. Chris did a splendid job, on time and with minimum disruption and very good price. We will be using him again to paint house exterior come spring.
