Claire Walker Decorating

We asked Claire to do a couple of painting jobs around my flat: repairing a peeling bathroom ceiling plus making good some internal painting work on two sash windows that had been badly done by a previous contractor. Right from the outset, Claire provided an exemplary service with a clear quote broken down by labour and materials. This enabled us to have a more in depth conversation re the works and manage expectations on both sides as to what was and wasn't included. Claire was happy to amend the quotes accordingly. The quotes were also very reasonably priced. She spent a week with us and was tidy, polite and efficient throughout. She constantly communicated with us re where things were at, any potential unexpected difficulties she had uncovered and the choices that needed to be made. For example, it turned out our bathroom ceiling has a mist coat with a different tension to the eggshell top coat and this was the cause of the constant peeling. I would far rather this approach than not be told and corners cut to remain within an original budget, only to end up with the problem reoccurring. In sum, I would have no hesitation in hiring Claire again and highly recommend her services.

Claire did an exceptional job renovating and decorating two rooms in our Victorian terraced house. Both rooms had curve balls - some damp and distemper issues - she consulted us on solutions and had a can do attitude. The results were wonderful. She gave good advice on colour, was tidy and clean and friendly. In particular she was flexible and did quiet work when we needed to have work meetings at home. We miss having her around - she was such a joy to have working for us.

Working with Claire was a breath of fresh air. She's honest, diligent, a master of her craft and a joy to have around our house. Claire went above and beyond what we would have expected from a painter, ensuring every last element of the job was flawlessly executed. When a few issues arose with some of our walls, Claire took the time to assess what was going on and tackle the problem properly, rather than just barreling along and hoping for the best. Claire has done a fantastic job redecorating our loft room. The skirting boards are unrecognisable from how they looked before. The room has been transformed from a dark space into a light and airy room. Claire worked solidly to get the job done within the set timeframe for a very fair price and respectful of Covid implications. Highly recommended.

I treated myself to some rather fancy Cole & Son wallpaper and needed a professional to hang it so I emailed a couple of Which Trusted Traders and Claire shone from her first email. She's incredibly helpful, organised, and usefully provided a timeframe for when she could complete the work with lots of detailed Covid safety considerations in place. She's a very neat worker, a lovely person to have in the flat, and did a beautiful job of hanging the wallpaper - it's absolutely immaculate and it makes me very happy to look at!

This is the third time we've used Claire and as always she's done amazing work! Claire's advice on colours and finishes has been key in getting the look we wanted. While working during COVID-19 Claire has been flexible with changing circumstances and kept us informed at all times. She also gone above and beyond to ensure all surfaces she interacts with are sanitised, making us feel very comfortable having her in our home during these times. Claire painted the woodwork in my lounge, kitchen and bathroom. The work was done to a high standard and within the timescale agreed. Claire has good attention to detail and nothing is too much. I rescheduled the job twice due to the Covid pandemic and Claire proved to be very flexible. Recommended.

From the start of our communications with Claire, we found her to be approachable and professional. Claire decorated our lounge/diner she was punctual, organised and extremely helpful when offering advice about colour schemes. Standard of work is very high.Budget was adhered to. I just cannot recommend Claire Walker Decorating highly enough. Claire has done 3 major jobs for me over the last 14 years, and has always been utterly reliable and trustworthy. Her work is superb and her careful preparation and attention to detail is literally second to none (I have never found anyone else who works to such high standards). I have endured quite a few botch jobs in the past, some of which Claire has had to put right. When Claire finishes the job, it always looks immaculate and finished to perfection. She is calm and unflappable, sticks brilliantly to schedule, and gives such helpful advice. She has really good product knowledge (which most people don't) and has a talent for interior design as well so she is able to advise on the project and offer her views. She has a passion for what she does, never cuts corners, and is very, very talented indeed. You won't be able to stop staring at the finished product! Enjoy. She is absolutely worth the wait.
