Claire Walker Decorating

Claire did an exceptional job renovating and decorating two rooms in our Victorian terraced house. Both rooms had curve balls - some damp and distemper issues - she consulted us on solutions and had a can do attitude. The results were wonderful. She gave good advice on colour, was tidy and clean and friendly. In particular she was flexible and did quiet work when we needed to have work meetings at home. We miss having her around - she was such a joy to have working for us.

Claire had done all the decorating for us for the last four years and I can’t rate her highly enough. She is knowledgeable and has a great eye for colour, her work is to a very high standard and she is clean and trustworthy,a good communicator. Would totally recommend .

Working with Claire was a breath of fresh air. She's honest, diligent, a master of her craft and a joy to have around our house. Claire went above and beyond what we would have expected from a painter, ensuring every last element of the job was flawlessly executed. When a few issues arose with some of our walls, Claire took the time to assess what was going on and tackle the problem properly, rather than just barreling along and hoping for the best. Which we've definitely experienced before. If you're looking for the world's greatest painter-decorator, you've found her.

Claire has done a fantastic job redecorating our loft room. The skirting boards are unrecognisable from how they looked before. The room has been transformed from a dark space into a light and airy room. Claire worked solidly to get the job done within the set timeframe for a very fair price and respectful of Covid implications. Highly recommended.

I treated myself to some rather fancy Cole & Son wallpaper and needed a professional to hang it so I emailed a couple of Which Trusted Traders and Claire shone from her first email. She's incredibly helpful, organised, and usefully provided a timeframe for when she could complete the work with lots of detailed Covid safety considerations in place. She's a very neat worker, a lovely person to have in the flat, and did a beautiful job of hanging the wallpaper - it's absolutely immaculate and it makes me very happy to look at!

This is the third time we've used Claire and as always she's done amazing work! Claire's advice on colours and finishes has been key in getting the look we wanted. While working during COVID-19 Claire has been flexible with changing circumstances and kept us informed at all times. She also gone above and beyond to ensure all surfaces she interacts with are sanitised, making us feel very comfortable having her in our home during these times. I would highly recommend Claire for anyone looking for a friendly yet professional decorator that consistently delivers great work.

Claire painted the woodwork in my lounge, kitchen and bathroom. The work was done to a high standard and within the timescale agreed. Claire has good attention to detail and nothing is too much. I rescheduled the job twice due to the Covid pandemic and Claire proved to be very flexible. Recommended.

From the start of our communications with Claire, we found her to be approachable and professional. Claire decorated our lounge/diner she was punctual, organised and extremely helpful when offering advice about colour schemes. Standard of work is very high.Budget was adhered to. We were extremely pleased with the finished product ,Claire was accommodating to our needs, and we would highly recommend her and have booked her to come again.

I just cannot recommend Claire Walker Decorating highly enough. Claire has done 3 major jobs for me over the last 14 years, and has always been utterly reliable and trustworthy. Her work is superb and her careful preparation and attention to detail is literally second to none (I have never found anyone else who works to such high standards). I have endured quite a few botch jobs in the past, some of which Claire has had to put right. When Claire finishes the job, it always looks immaculate and finished to perfection. She is calm and unflappable, sticks brilliantly to schedule, and gives such helpful advice. She has really good product knowledge (which most people don't) and has a talent for interior design as well so she is able to advise on the project and offer her views. She has a passion for what she does, never cuts corners, and is very, very talented indeed. You won't be able to stop staring at the finished product! Enjoy. She is absolutely worth the wait.

We've used Claire to decorate all of the rooms and hall/stairs at different times in our house and she is always excellent. This time, she did our sitting room and gave us a lot of help and advice in choosing a wallpaper and colours to go with it. She is always calm and unflappable, communicative, friendly and completely reliable.

I am a which member and saw her name. It was great to see a woman decorator among the best of the best. Immediately l felt comfortable without knowing her. l was not disappointed she has a great personality and easy to talk to. She explained clearly what is required, the cost and how long it would take all within budget - worth every penny. I had the back bedroom painted throughout to the highest standard. I gave Claire a key to let herself in. On completion the room was left clean and tidy. It looks amazing, my daughter loves the colours which, one of them was suggested by Claire. I have asked her to do further work in my home going forward. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who needed work to be done.

This is the second time we have invited Claire to paint a room for us after doing such a great job on bedroom number 1. Claire doesn’t just paint she advises also, we weren’t 100% sure on colour or finish and trusted Claire’s advice. We love the result! Bedroom number 2 now has a striking black wall - painted with care and precision. We are very happy! Workmanship is excellent and pricing fair - would recommend!

Claire completed the job to a higher standard than I thought possible. She took time and care over our old Victorian woodwork and walls and was able to make good judgement on what would be the best approach to gaining a good finish in surfaces. Her wallpapering was exemplary and she minimised waste (and therefore reduced our cost). She also spent time considering the aesthetics of the patter and repeat and the finished job looks amazing. Claire was always on time, worked to the budget (and when a slight addition to price/time was required she consulted with me and gave me options). She was pleasant to have in the house - did not intrude on our privacy, asked before putting on a radio and was friendly and approachable. This is the second time we used Claire and she will be our go to decorator for the future. I would have no problem in recommending Claire’s work to my friends and family.
