I contracted Cliff to replace flooring in my apartment in Liverpool. I live in Ireland and needed someone I could trust. His work is exceptional. There was much more refurbishment needed in the apartment. The kitchen was beyond repair and had to be replaced. Cliff designed and installed the kitchen replaced the bathroom counter, repaired the flush and blinds. He kept in good contact with me throughout and sent plans and quotes as needed. He recommended an electrician. Support small business-the back bone of our economy

From the first conversation Cliff at Internal Affairs was helpful and accommodating, I have a lot of ideas and opinions and Cliff was able to sift through them using his experience to help us make the right decisions in the design and look of our kitchen. He took complete control of the job, project managing the various trades. The work encompassed removing two structural walls , installing supports and new partitioning. The entire area was re wired and plastered before the new kitchen and flooring was installed. We are very pleased with the result and know that Cliff's high personnel standards and experience are the main reason for that.

Very pleased with our new kitchen. Cliff was able to remove our old kitchen quickly before installing the new one. His excellent joinery skills were needed to overcome the imperfections of our walls, and he made several useful modifications to our original plans. He cleared up well after each day’s work. He also helped us choose the best appliances. Cliff is something of a perfectionist, but he still managed to complete the job in good time. I would not hesitate to recommend Cliff and Internal Affairs to any prospective customer.

We had a new kitchen put in by Cliff in November/December 2022 and we’re really pleased with the result. The discussions started much earlier and Cliff was patient in explaining the options to us. Once we had chosen what we wanted, with some useful advice on maximising space, the installation went relatively smoothly. There were some Brexit-related import delays but nothing that was Cliff’s fault. The big benefit of working with Cliff as a single point of contact is that all the other work – plastering, electrics – is organised by him: there is no need for the client to become a project manager. Cliff has excellent contacts and the other tradesmen he sub-contracted were equally easy to deal with and produced high-quality work. In the end, we asked Cliff to replace a bathroom too, as well as to convert part of the garage into a utility room. Again, we’re very pleased with the result. We feel very happy to have escaped some of the nightmares our friends have had with big companies and strongly recommend Cliff.

Cliff came and fitted an integrated fridge at short notice for me. Quick and efficient, and also took care of disposal of my old fridge. Would recommend.

Internal Affairs and in particular Cliff Hurst were excellent. Good value, on time, and sympathetic to our requests. Good choice of fittings and very well installed showing the many years of experience the company has.

I contacted Mr Hirst on 12 October for a quote for a repair job for a floor board at my rental property and then had to chase him on 27 October when he had not visited my tenant. He promised to follow up and visit the rental property. On 2 November, with the tenant not having had a visit, i messaged Mr Hirst again. With no reply I had to cancel my request on 4 November as there was a complete lack of progress. He had personal reasons for his delay. I presume he is a one man band as otherwise his colleagues would have contacted me to explain the situation. So, having first contacted him on 12 October I was left waiting until 4 November before I was forced to cancel the request for a quote. My main issue was the lack of communication. Had he said he was too busy or not available I could have engaged another contractor rather than wasting several weeks chasing him. His actions demonstrated a complete lack of customer care and it was clear that, due to the small scale nature of the job, he was happy to let me wait until it suited him to do the work, if he intended to do it at all.

Cliff supplied and fitted new floorboards in our daughters bedroom. He was very polite and tidy and used quality products. He was punctual and did a great job of tidying up after himself as well.

Our old telescopic cooker extractor needed replacing. It was not possible to buy an exact replacement but Cliff sourced an alternative. Unfortunately, there was nothing on the market that would be a drop-in fit (believe me I searched). Cliff remodeled the original wall unit carcass such that the new extractor fitted behind the old doors, maintaining the look of the kitchen and recovering most of the storage space we use for spice jars. Delivery of the replacement extractor was the day after I agreed the contract and the new unit was fitted with all work completed the following day.

We had the kitchen and conservatory refurbished into a one room kitchen diner, with underfloor heating and a completely new roof. We found Cliff to be very professional, very reasonable costs and a very nice pleasant man to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble for him, he went above and beyond to please us. Highly recommended. Plus he only works with top quality products. I really appreciated the personal touch.

Cliff and his team completed the work to a high standard of workmanship and were able to adjust at short notice as our plans changed.

Despite some challenges with suppliers beyond his control (e.g. Which guide indicating appliances available at x when they were not), Cliff completed our kitchen to a very high standard. His communication with us was great and he helped us plan the use of space really well. His management of the fitting of the granite countertop was excellent and ensured a perfect finish. Cliff went over and above to trim our kick boards when our chosen floor was thicker than predicted.

Thank you Cliff for the professional workmanship. We have a disabled daughter and I needed some bespoke wardrobes fitting in her bedroom which were safe and inaccessible for small hands. Cliff met the brief and we are really pleased with the final result. We also had a new oak and glass balustrade fitted with handrail on the stairs. Couldn't be more pleased from start to finish.

I've just had my fitted wardrobes finished and I'm over the moon with the results! I had a vague idea of how I wanted them and Cliff put his own suggestions forward which improved on my own. He helped me design the layout to maximise space, even building the shelf sizes specifically to hold my existing storage boxes. The quality of the doors is amazing, and the slight grey tint I chose on the glass means it blends in perfectly with my bedroom, whilst still functioning as mirrors. The finishing touches such as the grey wood to match the walls and soft-close doors added to the overall result. Internal affairs were very professional throughout, very tidy and adhered to all COVID secure guidance. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others and I'm overjoyed with the results.

We wanted to revamp (make the shower bigger) our en-suite. We left a review last Nov 20 ref having our kitchen done and we said in that Internal Affairs will be the 1st company to call and get a quote to fit a new en-suite. We gave Cliff the go ahead early Jan 21 after he quoted and he started work early March 21. We were prepared to wait knowing Cliffs standards and timekeeping. It took Cliff just over a week from start to finish and we are delighted with the end result, we should have done this years ago. The way Cliff has redesigned the room he has given us a shower of a size we never thought possible. We would recommend Internal Affairs to anyone who is looking to have alterations done to their home, just make sure your kettle works he likes his brews!

I chose Internal Affairs for my new kitchen following a garage conversion to bedroom/en-suite shower room, as well as the fitting of new wardrobes in an upstairs bedroom. Cliff Hirst was very helpful in designing the kitchen layout, taking on board my requirements and suggestions. Due to some additional features there were additional costs and because of this and some delivery issues the work took longer than anticipated. The completed job looks very professional and the kitchen works very well. There is an ongoing problem with the dishwasher (a manufacturing fault), which Cliff has been very helpful in attempting to resolve. On the whole I am very pleased with the way the work was carried out and completed.

Cliff has transformed our dated, dingy kitchen and living area into a modern show home area. We had a supporting wall removed, plumbing relocated, plastering, electric work and a beautiful floor fitted that flows from the hall to the revamped area. The schedule was spot on as was the budget agreed. The quality of the work is outstanding and advice before and during the work made a marked difference to our choice of units and worktops. Excellent communication from start to finish and Cliff noticed a mark on the extractor and it was immediately resolved. We cannot be more pleased with the work and Cliff and would highly recommend him.

I would like to commend Cliff Hurst proprietor of Internal Affairs, he came recommended by friends. We were having ideas about adding kitchen units to our existing kitchen and asked Cliff for advise and a quote. Cliff was so helpful giving us ideas we had not thought of and also reducing the costs where he could. Our kitchen is approx 12 years old and he searched high and low to get the doors that matched the existing ones, again saving us money not having to replace the old doors which are in good order. His time keeping was excellent, very tidy and skills were second to none. Internal affairs don't just do kitchens, we are thinking of a new shower in our en suite, they will be the 1st company we call. I would highly recommend this company, internal or external renovations.

This is the fourth time we have used Internal Affairs for kitchen/bathroom work. On this occasion, we just needed our integrated fridge-freezer ("inherited" when we moved in and so not exactly sure of how old it was, but probably best part of 15 years!) As on the three previous occasions, we found the service delivered by Internal Affairs to be very good indeed; the device we had stipulated was delivered and installed very quickly an disposal also took place of our old device. Could not have asked for better in any regard.

Internal Affairs did our loft conversion. This led to a redesign of the bedroom affording stair access to the loft - all supplied and fitted by Internal Affairs. Cliff never tired of our questions and exploring options about the way to proceed. His design and product advise was first rate and exceeded our expectations (he does that a lot). The quality and workmanship was first rate. The wardrobe design was what we might expect from the high end suppliers (at twice the cost) We plan to update our bathroom and will use Cliff for this - we will frankly go to Internal Affairs for everything in our home in the future I recommend them without hesitation or reservation

We contacted Internal Affairs (Cliff Hirst) as we had a general idea regarding the conversion of our loft to an office. Cliff developed our idea and discussed design aspects with us creating a hidden access from the bedroom behind a sliding door. The conversion was managed by Cliff throughout, problems were overcome and the finish exceeded our expectations. The workers and tradesmen engaged were professional, polite and tidy - Cliff maintained daily contact with us explaining the progress and issues arising We had Internal Affairs do another job for us and will book Cliff to refit our bathroom in due course I would highly recommend Internal Affairs and Cliff Hirst

Having looked around the high street for a fitted kitchen I decided to have a look at the Which traders, I contacted Cliff who came round to have a look, from the first meeting my decision was made, his professionalism and design was spot on. From the unit installation, electrics, plumbing, plastering and flooring his workmanship was excellent his advice on the purchase and installation of the electrical goods was perfect. At the end of the project we got the WOW factor we were hoping for. I would not hesitate to recommend Cliff, he will be my first contact for any future projects.

Decided to replace our rotted wooden decking, contacted internal affairs for a quote, spoke to Cliff he suggested composite decking he dropped some samples off, I was impressed by the quality, we decided on the grey. Was really impressed with Cliff's planning and bespoke design, efficient work, arranging all the work around the current guide lines, such a trustworthy person getting on with the work whilst I went to work, all the clean up and removal of the skip. Have to say he has done a fantastic job so pleased with my new decking so much more space and a unique design. From the first communication, to planning, work carried out and finished took less than a week very efficient, thank you so much Internal Affairs would not hesitate to recommend your work, transforming my garden and I have had so many lovely comments from pictures I have sent to friends and family.

Excellent workmanship and attention to detail has produced a superb fitted kitchen at such a reasonable price. From the outset Cliff set his standard high with the planning and left no stone unturned to find the best quality products on the market at the most reasonable of prices to meet our exact specifications for the plan. His carpentry skills and organisation of sub contractors to tie in to finalise the build on time is second to none. We are really pleased with the end product of our dream kitchen. Cliff has surpassed all of our expectations with the Kitchen he has installed. Other installers and current well known retail brands were considered prior to Cliff, thank goodness we went with Cliff instead, the quality of product could not be matched by anything on the high street as it is of a far superior build quality.

Cliff has carried out work for me before, fitting a new kitchen, and I was therefore aware of his great customer service and willingness to go the extra mile. Therefore he was my first choice to carry out my garage conversion and I have not been disappointed. Cliff is professional, friendly and intent on doing excellent work with great attention to detail. Nothing phases him - he just sorts it out. He gave me a price and stuck to it. Highly recommended.

Internal Affairs did a major refurbishment on my kitchen and utility room a few years ago, I was very happy with the work carried out so when I decided to re-tile those two rooms I had no hesitation in contacting Cliff again. I chose a tile and Cliff came up with design ideas and I am so pleased with the work done. Cliff also sanded down the worktops and carried out a repair job which was above and beyond what I had expected to be done. We found "Internal Affairs" in a local trade magazine and, after having been severely disappointed by what we had found with others, decided to ask for a quotation for some new cupboards and shelves to be be added the the built-in kitchen which we had inherited in our new flat (and which to us seemed "half-finished"). We were delighted with the work provided by Internal Affairs from the initial discussion, design of what was to be done, the implementation of the work and (for reasons not connected with Internal Affairs) some minor corrective work which needed doing (to products which had been delivered damaged by the wholesale suppliers). The work was completed cleanly, quickly and in a full expert manner. We will certainly be in touch again for other work to be undertaken (bathroom plus wet-room) and would fully recommend this provider to anyone else needing design/joinery work of any kind.

I had a small job that needed doing in the bathroom and had previously had been unsuccessful getting anyone to come out and sort it - unless I wanted to replace the entire bathroom! Cliff, contacted me very quickly and arranged a date that week, coming after hours and out of his way to where I live to sort it out. We were initially looking for a new kitchen and Cliff Hirst (Internal Affairs) was recommended to us by a friend. We were very impressed with Cliff even after our first meeting as it soon became clear from talking with him that he was a vastly experienced professional who clearly had an eye for detail and who insisted on working to an exceptionally high standard. Cliff provided significant input to re-designing our new kitchen and his ability to provide custom made to measure units was a big selling point for us. In addition, he listened to our gripes about the general ground floor layout of our house and made constructive suggestions around simple changes that he could make that would change the feel of our house. We were a little nervous (who wouldn't be with walls being taken down) but decided to go for it and honestly it was one of the best decisions we've made. Our new kitchen, downstairs design and flooring (plus under-floor heating in living room and entrance hallway) is amazing and the quality of Cliff's workmanship is to be commended. Cliff also went the extra mile by tidying up other little niggles that he encountered during his time with us such as doors that didn't close properly....again testament to his eye for detail and high standards. I would highly recommend Cliff Hirst (Internal Affairs) to anyone who is considering a new kitchen and/or other home improvements.
