We bought our Vauxhall Astra diesel to clover autos with an intermittent engine management fault which are always the most difficult and complex to find. They forensically went through the car systems to isolate and rectify the problem. They kept us informed and explained the technicalities of what they did to rectify the fault in layman's terms that we could understand. I felt completely confident from the professional way they booked our car in through the repair and on to completion, including a very professional and detailed written report of everything they did for the successful repair of this very complex problem I would have no hesitation in recommending this garage and will certainly be giving them any future business

Our VW Up had a rattling noise on start up but when you press the clutch peddle it disappeared. I took the Car into the Clover Autos for a diagnostic and the mechanics pin pointed the problem and gave me a full breakdown of the work required and the cost for a complete clutch replacement kit. The work was all completed in good time, they provided a very professional service and I will definitely be taking my car back for its service and mot next year. I had noticed a drumming noise from a front wheel when driving my Volvo XC 70 for some time. I took it into Clover Autos (who my wife and I have used for many years). A test drive confirmed a damaged wheel bearing but I was told that I could safely continue to drive until it got worse. I was then due to be away for a week and they suggested that I should leave the car with them and they would fit new hubs and bearings on both front wheels. The work was completed whilst we were away and they delivered the car to my home. All very efficient and the charge for the work seemed very reasonable and certainly less than I would have been charged by a Volvo agent.

As a female driver I feel assured, comfortable and confident using Clover Autos. These guys really deliver to ensure the job is done efficiently, safely and in reasonable time frame; reducing inconvenience whilst you are without your vehicle. I was in no doubt my car had been worked on with care and Clover Autos even worked overtime across the weekend to try and get my car back to me quicker for travelling into work. An outstanding service. Additionally, they even did some extra jobs that weren't specified - simply to help keep me comfortable and feeling safe in my car. I needed an MOT urgently as I forgot to renew it and only had a short time to sort it. Despite being really busy Dave and Ron juggled their work to fit me in so that I could back on the road safely. I also had problems with the coolant system and I asked them they investigate the issues. Due to problems to access the screws to get the coolant system it was possible they would have had to remove the engine or gearbox but I can’t remember which to take them off. However they communicated this to me and advised of the worst case scenario but they also had another solution to explore that would be be cheaper but no guarantee it would work. I gave the go ahead to explore the cheapest option and it worked. They saved me lots of money. These guys are very trustworthy and do not rip people off. Fantastic communication during the whole process. I also had regular updates and they got me back on the road fairly quickly. I only wished I knew they were there before. The prices are also reasonable in comparison to others I’ve used before and the workmanship is great too. I would definitely recommend Clover Autos and I have recommended them to my son and he is going there today. I will be using them from now on. Thank you guys Caroline

A/C problem on an ageing Audi A3 sorted very promptly with full explanation, in advance, on diagnostics required and, on collection, of work completed. The car has been here a few times over the years and Ron's approach has been consistently excellent.....consequently no hesitation in recommending Clover Autos.

Recently after hitting a large pot hole My Nissan Qashqai has been making a strange rattling and clunking noise which was coming from under the front passenger side tyre. I took my car to a garage in Harlow who told me I needed a new gear box which would be nearly £3k. I questioned it straight away and wanted a 2nd opinion. I took my car to Clover autos and they looked at the car for me. After only waiting 30mins Dave from Clover informed me the issue was only the leg mounting nut and a bolt from the sub frame that was loose! They tightened them both up and the problem was solved. Only cost me £85 instead of £3k!! Can’t thank them enough. Great company and amazing service. I will now be taking my car here for anything that needs doing! Thanks again. Liam

Have used Clover Autos for a few years following recommendation from a colleague. Both service and MOT carried out recently. Extra work is always discussed beforehand, with work done promptly and to budget. There are no extras such as cleaning of the vehicle as you might experience at a dealership but the seats are always carefully protected during maintenance. Overall an honest and trustworthy company to deal with.

Dave, his brother and the crew at Clover Autos serviced and MOT'd my 2014 VW Passat on numerous occasions during my ownership and generally kept me on the road and safe. Their work was always done on a timely basis, usually for a couple of hours during the morning and always with the car ready to collect on my way home from work. Their knowledge of the car and ability to diagnose actual and emerging issues was invaluable. And despite using authorised parts I never felt I was being overcharged to the extent that I was, on occasion, surprised by how low some of the bills were - a very pleasant outcome. Whatever was fixed was fixed well and issues didn't recur which was reassuring as the car approached the end of its life - I knew it was the car failing and not a fault with the work by Clover Autos. Eventually, an end-of-life issue was diagnosed by Clover Autos and, with typical honesty, rather than persuade me to pay for the fix they advised that it wasn't worth it. We traded the car in soon after and avoided running it until it was only worth scrap value. The trade-in vs scrap value alone saved me all the money I'd spent at Clover Autos. So thanks Dave and crew, you were literally worth every penny!

My Audi TT was misfiring and I was looking for a local specialist. I found Clover and it’s apparent that they know what they’re doing having diagnosed the fault quickly and guided me through what was needed, I was back on the road in no time. Have since been back for a DSG gearbox service. The pricing is very competitive compared to the main dealer and with genuine Audi parts used. I have complete confidence leaving my car here and would recommend Clover to everyone.

Clover Autos provided me with excellent service in fixing two long standing problems on my Audi A4 Salon. I had spent a frustrating 18 months and a small fortune with my local Audi dealer. They failed to fix either of the problems and even gave me the impression they didn’t really understand them. Clover Autos on the other hand diagnosed both faults within a couple of hours and had them both fixed after receiving the replacement parts. My Audi A4 now drives like a new car. Very, very happy. I phoned clovers as I had a lumpy tick over on my van I couldn’t use the van as worried I would breakdown I spoke to David and he said to bring the van in and he would squeeze me in to find the problem. I left my van with him he then phoned me the next day letting me know what the problem was and cost of repairs. The work was carried out the next day as he knew I couldn’t work without the van I also had a knocking noise from the back he found the problem as another garage couldn’t When picking the van up the bill was slightly less than quoted and he even showed me the parts that were replaced. great service and trustworthy people

This is the 2nd year Clover Autos have MOT'd my car and both times they have been amazing (better than the well known dealer i normally take my car!). Whats re-assuring about Clover is you can tell how much pride they take in thier work from the moment you walk into reception as you can see all the certficate of excellance on the wall! I was also shown exactly what needed replacing to get my car through the MOT (again re-asurring). During the process i was kept up-to-date even resonding to an email at 0722 in the morning to let me know the process for my retest. All in all as always a great experiance with Clover which i would recommend to anyone.

Brake fluid change recommended by Audi Franchise dealer. Quoted a very reasonable price, completed work on time and at agreed cost. All very straightforward and efficient. It's good to support a local business. They also updated the central Audi service record with the work completed. Very pleased and I will use them again.

Cam belt and MOT and some additional work found along the way. I was expecting it to take longer, but the work was completed in a day. The cost was higher than originally discussed, but Clover phoned and discussed the additional costs before going ahead with the work. They also showed me the additional worn out parts when I collected my car. I first used Clover 2 years ago, I was looking for a local garage with a courtesy car as I have a long drive to work. Clover advertised as a VW specialist. An initial visit to them, I received a friendly welcome and viewed a clean and tidy workshop with an interesting range of cars being worked on. This was my 5th visit to them (due to my higher mileage) and still a very happy customer.

Clover Autos were recommended by a friend and I’ve only taken my VW Caddy to them for 4yrs now. Always happy with the work done - they let you know what they’re going to do and then do it in good time. I find their front of house chap helpful, approachable & accommodating. I trust them with my pride & joy and recommend them to all.

I dropped my car off and after explaining the loss of power, was greeted by Ronnie, the owner, who was an extremely polite, professional and understanding man. He treated me as if I was his only customer and asked me lots of questions to help him better understand the problem. He explained a thorough diagnosis would be conducted using a computer and visual inspection to ascertain the problem. He loaned me a hire car(no charge!) and explained he would contact me ASAP with his findings, which he did. The problem was caused by a faulty throttle potentiometer which was changed and the old parts were left in a box in my car; they like to let customers see which parts have been changed. Again Ronnie was extremely polite, professional and not rushed when explaining everything they did in detail. I unhesitatingly recommend Clover Autos for being a breath of fresh air in delivering outstanding customer service in an honest, polite, and professional manner. As a teacher with over 10 years experience delivering customer service courses, I speak with some authority on the subject. Bravo Clover Autos, I will not allow any other mechanic to work on my car, but you.

Been using Clover for many years. I have found them to be professional in their execution. Work required is detailed and costed correctly so there are no unpleasant surprises. They are always accommodating to the customer and carry out their work to a high standard.

MOT arranged at short notice, Completed on time, car delivered home afterwards, clean inside and out. Very efficient friendly service.

Went to Clover Autos with a problem on my ABS, they were so good, kept me informed at all points, and fixed it, whilst keeping the cost down. I will always take my car here for further services and repairs, they do a great job, while being honest, pleasant and not ripping you off.

The Clover Auto guys fitted me in at short notice for a last-minute MOT on our Audi A1, which they did whilst I waited and watched. All ran to time, very thorough and all done with sensible Covid precautions. We had the car serviced at Clover late last year too. They really know their Audi's and, like other reviews on this site mention, are always very transparent, explaining carefully what work needs doing and why, and the pricing options. Wouldn't take our Audi anywhere else.

I had a problem with the catch mechanism on the driver's door of my VW Passat; it could not be opened from the outside and the handle appeared to be broken. I called Clover on Friday morning and they told me to bring it in. By lunchtime they had stripped the door to ensure they got to the root of the problem. Luckily for me, they found that it was not necessary to replace the whole lock, and somehow managed to repair the handle too. Both these parts would have been very expensive. They diagnosed the problem as the cable between the handle and lock, which had deteriorated and needed replacing. The cost of the part was just £11. Despite trying, they were unfortunately unable to get the cable that afternoon, otherwise the whole repair would have been completed same day. By lunchtime on Monday they called to confirm the repair was finished and that I could collect the car at my convenience. First class service from a polite and professional team that clearly know Volkswagens inside out! Highly recommended.

Only an MOT and new battery's in the key today but courteous, honest and straight forward as usual. My wife's car and mine are serviced there regularly.
