After several glowing recommendations from business acquaintances about work that Cox Format had undertaken for them, and finding I needed a new roof too, we booked a consultation with Peter Maton the CEO. Peter visited us with Mark Rossi who was to become our Project Manager. With both, their experience and professionalism was immediately evident and reassured us from the start. One of the things that really sets Cox Format apart is that they deal with the job from start to finish. They designed the loft along with all structural elements, and dealt with the council’s Planning and Building Control all the way through to sign-off. The other is that they have trained all their staff from an apprenticeship level and it really shows in comparison with other builders who tend to sub out a lot of work. We received a very professional quote along with information on how to notify our neighbours of Party Wall issues. Once we accepted the quote, Mark came back with James, who was our onsite Project Manager. James was exceptional – he really managed all on site elements of the job from start to finish. He kept the job on-track and to an incredibly high standard, even our neighbours couldn’t stop singing his praises. The advice, support and quality of the workmanship was superb. Cox Format had a slogan on their banner which went up on our scaffolding, “On budget, on time….every time.” They more than lived up to the promise and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

The job was to build an extension at the rear of the house for a wet room next to the small kitchen involving removal of an old toilet block which in turn would give further space to the kitchen. Plans and any queries were thoroughly talked through by the team with ourselves beforehand and throughout the job. Important to us. Payment was done as each stage of the job was completed and our satisfaction assured. The builder - professional - and crew were very hardworking, thoughtful, polite and tidied at the end if each day. The end result was a piece of craftsmanship - a creation of space one could not have imagined. We would recommend Cox for your building needs.

We had an L-shaped, double dormer, loft conversion on our Victorian terraced house. The work was completed on schedule in 6 weeks, despite bad weather, and was of an excellent standard. The whole team were professional and very easy to deal with. There was clear communication between all of the Cox format team, the project manager and ourselves, and queries and changes were dealt with in a timely manner. There was a clearly laid out payment plan with transparent costings. We would thoroughly recommend the company.

We recently completed an extension to the rear of our house. From the start of the design process through to the construction, Cox Format demonstrated professionalism, expertise and customer service with a clear passion for their business. It was clear from the start that their purpose was to ensure the clients expectations and satisfaction were met and put in the time and effort to ensure they met their goal. From start to finish the project went smoothly. We had regular meetings with the Project Manager to receive updates, review progress and discuss any changes. Any last minute changes were incorporated easily. The workforce turned up promptly every morning at 7AM and were respectful and trustworthy, and accomplished excellent work with paying attention to detail. Our home surroundings were protected to prevent any damage. We were impressed with the workmanship and speed with which the work progressed. The workplace was always left clean, tidy and safe at the end of the day. We've had an excellent experience with Cox Format and are very pleased with our finished product which was delivered on time and within budget. We chose Cox Format to do our loft conversation because they're Which? Trusted Traders and we wanted a loft conversion done that required lowering some ceilings to make room. Cox's team were excellent at managing all aspects of the conversion, from completing the council paperwork, to providing detailed quotes and timelines. Mark, Project Manager, took into account all of our requirements and provided a lot of flexibility with additional tasks that we wanted done, such as custom spotlights and additional electrics. He also provided us with a timeline of work to help us manage expectation. A major plus was how quickly and professionally they built the loft, choosing additional manpower instead of sacrificing quality. We were able to see everything as it progressed, and the builders were happy to answer all of our questions. Everything was solidly built, finished, and plastered to a high degree. Both the builders and the subcontractors involved worked to a high standard while taking care of our house. Cox gave us an estimate of eight weeks to do the loft conversion. Eight weeks later the loft was complete and Cox Format delivered us the Final Certificate to show that it had passed all inspections. The build went smoothly, and we highly recommend them to anyone who wants a hassle-free loft extension.

Our project was to extend and completely remodel the back half of our terraced house. Cox format delivered the job to time and cost once our requested extras where factored in. They even managed to work around our daughters A Level revision timetable All work was professional and of high quality - we liked how tidy the work site was left each night Mark kept us informed throughout with regular updates and site meetings.

The team were well presented, professional, polite and hard working, paid good attention to detail and always tidied up before leaving for the day. Cox Format have just finished an extension for us and it is excellent! When looking for a suitable builder we were seeking quality of workmanship, timeliness, cleanliness, friendliness and real value for money. Cox Format delivered all of these. They kept us well informed as the work progressed and listened when we sought any clarifications. They finished on time and to cost. We felt at ease throughout the whole build. All I can say is that I would recommend them without hesitation.

Good service and great quality of work carried out in a timely manner without cutting any corners. In the main they used there own directly employed workforce and kept a working project manager on site throughout. This was ideal as we had one point of contact and were able to build up the rapport and the trust which is essential when you have people at times working in your house unsupervised. Cox Format has just completed our whole house refurbishment, including an attic conversion and a kitchen extension. They were professional, trustworthy and extremely easy to deal with throughout the project. Their project manager & foremen were excellent, and all queries and issues were dealt with promptly and effectively. Their original estimate time frame was about 4-5 months which we thought was very ambitious considering the size of our project, but they completed the whole project on time without any delays. Needless to say, the finished job was superb and we moved into our new house on time 2 weeks ago and are thrilled with all the work they have done! We can’t recommend Cox Format highly enough for their skill and professionalism.

The whole project ran like a military operation and if things fell behind due to unforeseen circumstances Cox Format caught up with things by sending in reinforcements. There were regular site visits by the Managers and constant feed back. We received helpful advice throughout. We were very pleased with the work which was finished to a high standard and on time and all of the workmen were very obliging.

Using Which Trusted Traders website I chose 3 Companies to get quotes for this job. I chose Cox Format Developments Limited because they appeared competent & were able to do the complete package – design, building applications, complete build & certificates. Although a small job this was done very professionally. Once work began it continued every day until completion. It was done to a high standard & ALL the people who carried out the work were dependable, knew what they were doing and very pleasant. This was not the cheapest quote I got but you must remember your house is the biggest investment you have. So it was important to choose the correct people, you hear too many bad stories. Anyway the cost of the conversion increased the value of the house by more the cost of the build. The work was done on time and everyone at home was happy with the conversion. We decided to appoint Cox Format for our loft conversion after considerable research, which included viewings of their work at other houses and a visit to their offices, which further instilled confidence. Their team are professional, reliable, courteous, and respectful of their customer's property and their wishes. Peter and Mark were continually visible, always addressed any slight issues we pointed out, and they ensured their contractors also worked to the same standards as their team. I had seen lots of development disaster stories on TV, hence i was slightly apprehensive when i decided to do a loft conversion. I obtained several quotes from builders but the minute i spoke with Cox format, i got the sense they were the sort of builders i had been looking for. They were thoroughly professional, specific, clear and transparent. Having viewed one of their recent projects, i proceeded with them for the build. My loft project started exactly on time, and each pre-defined stage proceeded with precision. Work was carried out on a daily basis (managed by James) and the major stages were completed ahead of schedule. Communication was superb, with almost daily updates on progress. Specifically, Mark had an unbelievably swift turnaround time when responding to my emails / texts / calls etc.. and this high standard was maintained from start to finish of the project duration...certainly exceeding my expectations. I have had a loft conversion carried out recently by Cox Format ltd. Even though I had three additional quotes from other companies which were also competitive I eventually settled on Cox Format. I did this for several reasons. 1.They are an established company with a directly employed labour force. 2.The standard of their work is of the highest quality. 3.Their planning and co-ordination of material deliveries and different trades is first class. 4.They have excellent site supervision on the project from start to finish. 5.Any additional works outside the scope is clearly priced so there are no late surprises on budgets. 6.Perhaps and this is very rare despite promises they stick to their agreed programmes without comprising safety or quality. In conclusion they are a first class company who do exactly what they say and to programme.
