D C Groves & Son

In very early 2021, after 40 years, notwithstanding the 'Pandemic', we 'downsized' and under the personal involvement and supervision of Groves, large amounts of sentimental and valued 'stuff' was efficiently and securely packaged, for storage, into D C Groves own 'storage' where, until recently, it remained. Much of it has now been delivered 'out of storage', 23rd Jan.'24, to our home in High Suffolk. Our 'unpacking' of boxes reveals the skilled efficiency of the original packing, masses of paper and bubblewrap, and most importantly - no breakages nor damages to fragile items, pictures and paintings. We compliment Anthony and Karen for the Firm's staff training, courtesy, and consequent operating efficiency.

I was pleased with the service when DC Groves moved me to Tenterden five years ago, so asked them to quote when some furniture needed to be moved here from my late parent's home in south London. As before I received a calm and efficient service at the time we agreed which I felt was also good value for money.

DC Groves have now moved me three times and they have always been professional, efficient, tidy and a pleasure to deal with. This time they packed up a 4 bed, three floor farm house and moved us to our new property. Not a single item was broken or missing and the whole process was as easy and stress free as they could possibly make it! I would have absolutely no hesitation in using them again and would recommend them to anyone, whatever size move.

Amazing service from start to end. Ian came to give us a written quote which explained the removal process in detail. Pippa in the office sorted the paperwork and the guys arrived on time everyday and worked long hours to get the job done. They were at all times polite and patient, and worked well as a team. They packed our antiques and fragile items for us extremely carefully and placed everything in our new home where we asked. Can’t fault the amazing service. Thank you to everyone involved.

The three operative team who moved us were very professional and helpful throughout the whole move, nothing was too much trouble if asked to move any item from room to room at our new home. The office staff were also all very helpful and the director who carried out the survey and quoted for the move came across as very knowledgeable as to the logistics of moving. We would certainly recommend this company for any one looking to move house.

This was a fairly small move, however we came unstuck with a large cupboard and a small staircase. The 2 guys tried at least 6 different ways to try and get it up the stairs. They really didn’t want to be defeated but sadly it was my fault for not measuring correctly. Super helpful, very professional and amazing team work with these two guys. I cannot thank them enough and will definitely use them again.

What can one but say but brilliant. Groves came the day before our move and organised everything to be moved into the order they would be transferred to our new home. The employees of the company were well mannered and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. It was a pleasure moving if moving house can ever be a pleasure but Groves certainly helped us cope with the move which was the first in 32 years.

The team from Groves were brilliant from the first inspection right through to the final move and collection of all the boxes and packing paper. We opted to use the packing service given the amount of valuable glass, china and objects that we currently own. We also opted to use the storage facility to ensure that we moved out on the date we had chosen and moved to our new address once we had completed work on the empty property. In all cases the team were always on time, quick, careful and efficient in their work and very pleasant company around the house. The cost was also excellent value all round. There has been no damage to any of our property throughout the move. Selling and buying houses is incredibly stressful and by the end of the process we were exhausted, so it was really important that the move did not add to that stress. We can honestly say it was a pleasure to have Groves work for us and the move was as easy as the time 36 years ago when they moved us to the house we have just sold.

We’ve used this company once before and couldn’t fault them but that was 12 years ago. Called them to quote on moving a family member into sheltered accommodation. They arrived on time and packed her belongings perfectly. The lift wasn’t working and it made their job very difficult but Steve and John were amazing. Thanks also to Ian for all his tips and professionalism with dealing with us. It’s nice to deal with such a lovely company once again.

Great experience, great team of guys who were prompt, polite, swift and couldn’t have done anymore for us. Would highly recommend, 10/10!!!
