Dan restored and repointed two exterior walls. He was reliable, finished to a high standard and consulted us carefully throughout the job so it was completed to our wishes

One of my walls was in need of repointing. It was a small job, but I still obtained a few quotes before picking Dan. He was amongst the cheapest but that was not the only deciding factor. After his initial visit, I was convinced he knew his trade better than the others, using hydraulic lime mortar rather than cement mortar, explaining the pros and cons of each, etc. Dan had a last minute cancellation and offered to do the work at my place a few weeks early. Of course I said yes. I can say I'm very happy with the results, the pointing looks neat, and he took the time to explain what he was doing. Hopefully no other walls will need touching up, but I'd happily hire him again.

Dan came and did a detailed look at the house and explained the process and the colours /use of cement v lime and all the stages. He did a detailed spec and told me what I really needed and what would be good to have and then nice to have. He put no pressure on us and was clear and reasonable priced. His work was of a very high standard and he and his team were a reassuring presence. He helped me to find someone to look at my windows and suggested other names when I asked for views about the roof.

A small job, but we are very happy with the work. Good communication, reasonable price, he always turned up when he promised to.

Dan re-did the pointing at two parts of the house where there were holes in the mortar. He came when he said he would, cleaned up after himself, and he and his team did such a good job that it's made me think I need to do the rest! It looks great - like a higher quality house. He clearly knows his stuff and the cost was reasonable. Would absolutely recommend.

Basically was exactly what he said on the tin which is all you really want from tradesmen working at your house - came got on and completed the work and left, no drama's Also, was willing to do additional small works when on site and helped me out using the scaffold tower which I used to paint the back of the house while he was on site Would not hesitate to recommend Dan to any family, friends or nieghbours!

Dan and Paul repointed the front facade of my Georgian terraced house in lime mortar. I had discussed the work with Dan the year before it was undertaken. He was one of half a dozen specialists that I asked to quote. Dan was fully booked for several months but I was happy to wait because he seemed to me to be the most knowledgeable and straightforward of the people I had seen. I am glad I waited. Dan and Paul did an excellent job and were a pleasure to deal with. Dan advised me on the colour and finish before the work was undertaken. They made up several trial areas in different finishes and colours. The worked carefully and efficiently. The pointing looks beautiful and Dan will return to finish up any last details when the scaffolding is taken down.

Dan carried out the repointing on the upper flat of our two storey property. The work was done on time and to budget and the quality of the workmanship was outstanding. Dan was exceptionally helpful and polite and took great care over all aspects of the job. I wouldn't hesitate to re-engage Dan's team again and can't recommend them highly enough.

Dan came to repoint a south west facing wall of the house. The mortar on the wall had started to deteriorate and was allowing water to ingress into the house. Dan arrived on time to do a review of the job and provide his quote for the work promptly. The work was carried out as quoted and the site was left clean and tidy after the job. Dan did a great job of blending the new mortar in with the existing colour and it is very difficult to see the existing and new work. Very good communications and very helpful advise on further steps I can take to waterproof the wall. Would highly recommend Dan.

From my first communications with Dan Evans (pointer) I found him to be open, efficient and reliable. He answered all my questions, and on his first site visit carefully explained his work process. He gave me a range of options and followed them up in his quote by breaking it down into two alternatives. The job was to rake out old mortar and repoint two sides of a Victorian two storey house. At our first meeting early this year, he explained that he could not start new jobs until late July as the diary was full, I was happy to wait. At the start of July an earlier slot became available and scaffolders were organised at short notice. Everyone did their part efficiently and without problem. Dan and Paul started work during the recent heatwave and worked extremely hard in horrible conditions. They did long days and were friendly, efficient, considerate, polite and really very nice people to have around. I trusted both of them completely. They came when they said they would and did what they said they would do and I am really happy with the quality and finish, they are artisans and a good team.
