We had our bungalow roof completely replaced and, at the end of it all, satisfactorily and within the agreed budget. We had a crisis en route, however. On August 4, the day Storm Floris struck: part of the roof had been re-tiled and other parts had been stripped with protective canvas attached. There was a large amount of rubbish, removed from the roof previously, which was lying in the back garden. On the day of the storm we received an email saying that none of the workforce would be coming that day. Water started coming through the bathroom ceiling tiles were blown off the roof crashing to the ground, the protective canvas flapping wildly and rubbish was redistributed throughout the garden. Brad, the owner and person in charge of the business, was phoned but no assistance was forthcoming until subsequently an email with photographs was sent. The roof was eventually made secure by Brad and a number of colleagues. The storm was forecast some days previously and preventative action could/should have taken place. This event was stressful and we had had help from our neighbours who prophylactically moved the solar panels from the grass in the back garden to a shelter to avoid potential damage in the storm. Brad, to be fair, apologised afterwoods and said that he had new staff who did not appreciate the standards that were supposed to have been met. At the end of the day we would, nevertheless, recommend Daly roofing as a firm to give serious consideration to.
