D.Plumridge Professional Driveway & Patio Construction

Plumridge installed the driveway of our current property some 15 years ago for a previous owner . It is still in excellent condition but part of the front wall was recently knocked off its foundations by a reversing van / lorry. Plumridge rebuilt the wall with matching bricks within a few days of being contacted. We are very pleased with the work and the service given. Having lived in the area for over 40 years, we have used Plumridge for work on a previous property and know that he has a first-class reputation for excellent work.

Despite the awful weather just before Christmas Darren's team did an excellent job and kept to schedule. Darren is straightforward, honest and maintains a good line of communication. He listens to your requirements and with his years of experience his advice is worth listening to. Courteney, who lead the work, is highly skilled, also a good communicator and 'on the case' at all times while his team were polite, helpful and a pleasure to have around. Due to atrocious weather and poor light there were a few snagging jobs which Courteney dealt with at the earliest opportunity. The finished result looks great.

Darren's team have done an excellent job building a new patio and replacing our garden paths. The result has made a significant difference to the overall look and feel of our garden from inside and out and the result has exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail during the work was impressive with all aspects discussed and modifications made as requested. The team that worked on the project were courteous and cleared up to the best of their ability at the end of each working day.

Having spoken to previous customers we chose Darren to complete the replacement driveway and wall. He was up front about the the wait time for the work and his quote, based on initial guidance from him and our wishes for the job,was acceptable. Darren kept us informed and involved through the whole process, and we were able to make make some additional adjustments as we progressed. The team were friendly, punctual and gave us a quality finish. The site remained tidy and the team cleaned up on the last day. Darren kept in regular contact to make sure the job was been completed according to our wishes and then did a final hand over on completion. It was worth the wait to have Plumridge complete the work.

I engaged D. Plumridge to do a 65m2 patio and 4.5m wall and retaining wall at the end of my garden which borders a small river. I picked D. Plumridge as they did my front drive a couple of years ago and were excellent. The work was tricky as it involved working in a running river to place the concrete posts for the retaining wall. However the works were completed ahead of time to a level of quality in excess of expectation. The crew were polite and friendly and communicated excellently as to their progress, what decisions needed to be made and what the outcomes may be. As a result we had no issues with the works, as we were away on holiday when they were completed we had to report some minor snags on our return, which were fixed on the same day.

Had Darren's company back as they did my patio 3 years ago, which we love, and they have just layed my new driveway. Thank you to Luke and Paul for being so hardworking and efficient. All were very respectable of our home. We would not hesitate to have the company back.

Darren offered some very good advice at the initial quotation and from the start to finish of the work Paul and Michael worked closely with us to make sure that everything was to our liking, The wait time for the work to begin may be a little longer but the end product makes the wait all worthwhile. Darren quoted for a new cobblestone driveway in July 2021. The work was completed in October 2022. Although there was a bit of a wait, it was WELL WORTH IT. Darren stuck to his original quoted price and the workmanship was superb! The tradesmen were friendly and courteous, and the end result was outstanding. I have had many comments from passers by on how good the driveway looks. I would not hesitate to recommend Darren and his team. They are clearly professionals and the end result is faultless.

I contacted Darren to replace the ten meter front path at my elderly parents' house. He was easy to get in touch with and to arrange a site visit. He came up with a couple of ideas to improve access to the house which I hadn't thought of and took him up on them. He suggested a paver that would allow easy use of a wheelchair and a Zimmer frame without detracting from the look. He stuck to the quote which was a fair price for the work involved. The team arrived promptly and worked hard to get the work done. They were all very respectful of my parents' property and were friendly and polite. A couple of months after completion I noticed a couple of minor snags. I contacted Darren and they were at the house the same day to sort it out. This is often an area where a company can let themselves down by failing to respond to snags and completely ignoring you. Darren's response was great. First class service, would highly recommend.

We were very happy with our front drive transformation carried out eight years ago by D Plumridge. Recently noticed a few blocks had sunk. Contacted Darren as we weren’t sure what the problem was. Even after eight years he arranged for the problem to be fixed. So we are very happy and feel this is an excellent example of after sales customer service. Prior to starting work, I liked a specific stone for my driveway but I don’t know the name. I asked another company: looking at the picture, they did not know or said the wrong stone name. When I showed the picture to him, he recognised. He is very fast, efficient and professional in his work. He is very supportive and able to discuss other work: irrigation and light: He recommends his colleagues who are also very professional in their work. He has done our front driveway which is very big and turned out beautifully. We recommended him to our friend recently. He has completed work very well in my friend's home.

Darren’s team built us a gorgeous new 130m2 patio. The work went very smoothly, they accommodated our requests, met the brief well and left everything tidy once they were finished. There were a couple of bits they couldn’t finish as we were waiting on another job to be completed but Darren helpfully promised to return to finish off the job at a later date. Replacement drive with extension and a new wall. The team worked quickly and accurately and we are very pleased with the look and style of the driveway. We were given good suggestions about the design. It was completed to the quote given. Courtney and the rest of the team kept us informed at all stages about what was being done and what would be happening next. We would have preferred to choose the colour of the pavers and bricks in advance to ensure that we got what we wanted as we were only able to choose from what was available at that moment.

After being recommended by a neighbour, we met Darren and his team, very professional from the beginning, upfront about the costs and the hidden pitfalls we could potentially face. His build team, let by Courteney were brilliant from the outset, having to dig out an existing patio and heavy clay by hand to finding solutions to tackle the drainage and then turning out something that was far better than we had anticipated. Darren Plumridge is a very approachable, responsive and hands-on owner who takes a strong personal interest and pride in the work done by his team. He was quick to respond to my initial query and followed up promptly in November 2021 with a written quote which gave several options for the replacement of my forty-year-old paved driveway. He also organised for samples of the proposed paving to be sent to me and was happy to provide reference sites. There was a rather long lead time for the works, which eventually started in April 2022 following a couple of prompts from me to secure a firm start date. No complaints at all about the quality or speed of the work, nor with the experienced three-man team deployed to the task. They were punctual, pleasant, courteous throughout, and tidied up at the end of each of the three days that they were on site. The coordination between each of the several sub-teams involved in the job was exceptionally good. Darren made several trips to examine progress for himself and was kept informed throughout by the on-site lead by phone and with photos. He and his team made useful recommendations which noticeably improved the look of the finished driveway. The initial quote was materially accurate, as was the estimate for the duration of the works, and I have no hesitation in recommending D Plumridge to other customers.

Plumridge landscaped our front drive in October 2021 and really pleased with the results. Certainly a few neighbours have commented on the drive and others in the road have asked for the details to potentially use Plumridge. The team is good and pleasant to deal with and worked through the various options with us. You have to be prepared to wait, Plumridge is popular, but I’d say the wait is worth. The only downside is the time between quote and work commencing means that the original design discussion is forgotten in the intervening months and so it feels like starting from scratch and then having to make quick decisions on some aspects, which could have been discussed if they had been asked in advance. Otherwise I would recommend to others.

I have had my front garden converted into an off-road parking space. Darren provided good advice and answered all my questions in a very straightforward manner; he gave me a sense of confidence from the first time I met him. His team were all very professional, turning up on time and working hard for three full days. I am very pleased with the result, and am very happy to recommend Darren.

Darren and the team replaced a very tired tarmac drive with a wonderful Marshalls Drivesys system. The team worked incredibly hard whilst they were on site keeping things clean and tidy as they went. In addition to the drive, Darren's black book of contacts was invaluable as we also needed ironwork, electricians and a new water main all of whom prioritised us to fit around the drive installation to make the whole thing trouble-free. The quality of the finish is very high and now gives the house a real wow factor. Very pleased overall.

We are so pleased we used Darren, it is a wait before they is able to start probably longer at the moment because of COVID and other current issues that everyone is facing but it was worth waiting. The team that we had were excellent, a pleasure to deal with a lovely polite bunch of men who always left the site clean and tidy. Darren Plumridge came to see us in the second week of April in response to our telephone request for a quote for two patios in our back garden. The first was an area of old crazy paving outside the French doors to the garden which desperately needed removing and replanning and laying as did the steps leading down to the area. The second was the removal of a decked area at the far end of the garden and its replacement with a patio. He was able to start the two week job the following Monday owing to an unforeseen gap in his schedule. His team of three – Dave, Luke and Paul worked steadily for two weeks from 8 am to 4 pm each day, checking regularly with us that we were satisfied with the way their work was going and leaving he place tidy each day when they left. They were amazing workers – polite, pleasant and cheerful – and we watched our patios emerge in front of our eyes. They thought about things that perhaps we would not have and were happy to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. They were obliging and their service was personal and dedicated to keeping their customers satisfied. We have no hesitation in awarding 5 stars under every heading to this company and to recommending them to any future customers who wished to use them and wanted to be sure that they were good. Darren and his extremely hardworking team laid an incredible driveway for us over 5 years ago. It has weathered the harsh sun and wet winters we've had with ease. It is still looking fantastic and we still get people knocking on our door to ask who installed it! This isn't your average driveway which will sink and be full of weeds in a few weeks or months, its an investment in making your property look great. This was the second time we've used Darren and his team and couldn't be happier with the results. Every time we come home it looks fantastic.

Darren's team turned up on the agreed date and worked well to complete the works. The access to the back garden was difficult (a narrow path) and the weather was very challenging with rain and subzero temperatures. I worked in the building industry for 40 years and so I got 3 quotes for the works - 40 m2 of new paving plus a brick Bar-b-q. Darren's quote was not the cheapest on paper but on review of the works schedule and specification offered, it was the best value for money. The chaps worked well under difficult conditions, kept me informed and completed a good job. I would be happy to use Plumridge again and would recommend them to friends and neighbours.

Having accepted Darren's estimate for replacement and installation of Patio /driveway /and path, had to wait a long time for work to commence due to full order book. However the end result was well worth the wait. Paul and his team worked hard every day in very trying weather conditions and as a consequence work was completed within a very acceptable timescale. Work was also completed to a high standard with full consideration given to drainage etc. The team were friendly and very approachable for queries and advice. Nothing was too much trouble. Site was left clean and tidy.

We have just had works completed on our new patio and we’re extremely happy with the end result! The existing patio was pulled up, old rotten decking knocked down and all was replaced with new paving stones, cladding and fencing. All throughout the work Courtney and his team were hard working, approachable, knowledgable, tidy and skilful. This was quite a large job but it was finished on time and as per the quote (except for our two add-ons). Nothing was too much trouble and they were always happy to offer their advice when needed (and we needed it a lot!). We have even had a bespoke, unique brick BBQ table built (a Courtney original) which is a wonderful feature and a highlight of ours! Darren always made himself available and made daily visits to check everything was running smoothly and satisfactory and we were constantly kept up-to-date on all aspects of the schedule. The pathway to our property which had three steps was made level and paved for ease of access. The finished product is aesthetically very pleasing and a tremendous transformation! Completed in a short time by a diligent team, many thanks to all concerned. Highly recommended.

We recently had our 66sqm driveway replaced and reworked by Darren and his team. End to end we worked with Darren on choosing materials (Marshalls) and obtaining samples before deciding on a look and finish. Darren is in high demand and we were more than happy to wait 5 months before work began. When it did there were a crew of 3 who excavated, laid all foundations, built our wall, levelled out the driveway material before finally laying the slabs. We are quite picky on what we wanted and how we wanted it to look. However, the standard of work is high and the fit and finish shows care and attention to detail! The work done was to replace our gravel driveway with stone cobbles. It was completed within the quoted timeframe and on budget. I was really impressed with Darren’s team. They were friendly, polite, experienced and professional. The driveway slopes down towards the house so good drainage was a key factor and they were proactive in finding aesthetic solutions to ensure as much water as possible would be directed away from the house. I was kept informed of progress throughout and any challenges the site presented along the way were easily dealt with, with no fuss.
