Datel Electrical Ltd is a well established electrical contractor based in Kingskerswell in South Devon.
Our team of qualified and highly motivated engineers deliver on our commitment to customer service and quality of work, and we specialise in electrical testing, installation, 24-hour emergency repairs and maintenance.
We are registered with the ECA and Elecsa, and all of our engineers are CRB checked.
We are also a Dimplex registered installer and have the new energy efficient Quantum storage heaters available to view.

Arrived on time and were patient when I was not quite ready. Also very efficient at installation with minimal disruption and mess, they also fixed what needed to be done. They were also happy to do some additional work that I booked in with them that was not on the original booking. I liked that they recommended work to be done without any pressure, pricing was good compared to a company I used in the past. They also sorted out problems that the previous company should have done.

We had a short list of jobs which needed attention - including a broken 4 way wall socket box which was the power supply for my PCs. Sam & Joe were very polite, and explained what they were going to do to fix each problem. For example they put 4 sockets on the wall at desk height to alleviate the need for trailing leads. Sam also checked for surge protection as I had lost a PC to a lightning strike before we moved to Torquay. With regard to the fan in the garage which my husband wanted. It wasn't the right solution so they talked him round to getting a humidifier. They were tidy, quick, and efficient. We wouldn't willing trust anyone other than Datel with our electrical work.

From start to finish, I had confidence in this firm. Communications were frequent and I felt listened to. The engineer was prompt, extremely helpful and knowledgeable and did a great job, including insisting on him clearing up. I shall certainly use this firm again.

Half of house circuit had gone and was advised that it was going to be a long day with carpets and floorboards taken up. However the job was done so professionally with minimal disruption and each area vacuumed after making a mess and all furniture and floorboards put back in place. Fantastic how these guys worked out the routing with no plans to go on. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Well done and a massive Thank you.

Asked Datel for help replacing old kitchen lights and a faulty bathroom fan. They advised on replacement light fittings, bulbs and fan. Work carried out as arranged and on time despite the awkward access to the fan. A problem with the fan was quickly sorted out. The new light fittings now look fantastic with no dark areas. When one of the bulbs supplied failed within a matter of weeks, they sourced a replacement for us, despite being told the bulb was no longer available. Thank you for your great customer service and your perseverance. I am happy to recommend this company as they are really helpful, gave us good advice and are happy to resolve any problems that arise.

We needed electrics installed in our new garden room. The service provided by Datel from start to finish was first-class. The quote was probably not the cheapest but Datel gave us confidence. We were provided with very good backup and reminders from the office and the job itself, carried out by Ryan, was excellent. Very happy to recommend Datel.

Bleeping alarm!

I had to call Datel as my smoke detectors decided to sleep in the early hours.I had an idea of was the backup battery but it was also mains linked and as I'm no sparky I needed help.David on the phone was most helpful and sympathetic to my needs. A young engineer came out within 40mins.I explained what I thought needed doing and he went in and within minutes he had sorted the alarm.They were out of date by at least 8 years.Sheltered to check the other one and I asked for a new one also.He didn't have one but went out to purchase one. Didn't get his name but he was very nice and explained the expiry date ,tested the alarms and disposed of the old ones. I thoroughly recommend these guys.Reasonably priced but worth it.I can now sleep safely and soundly.

Overcharging labour
Quoted for very simple hookup job in garden that would be one days labour for one person, and in the end turned out to be that. Quoted £420 which ended up being over twice the final price I paid an electrician 3 doors down from me. I am a which? Member and had confidence in this service, not now.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review which we were extremely surprised to read. We received your telephone call back in April asking for a quotation as soon as possible since you already had gardeners on site and electrical work was required in conjunction with their works. Bearing this in mind we rescheduled several jobs to enable us to send a colleague to give a quote the same day as your telephone call. It was unfortunate that when our colleague arrived to look at the work involved he was not given full access to the area in question. Hence our quotation was prepared without us being able to visually inspect the work involved. It is very likely that this explains why another electrician was able to complete the work at a cheaper cost.
