I have had work carried out by Davis & Gold for many years now and they have always provided a high quality, reliable and professional service. Recently, I booked in for a new boiler replacement and the work was carried out by James. Everything from start to finish was planned and delivered smoothly, from the first quote discussions, to the work plans ensuring the convenience for me and to the meticulous completion of all the work in the day. James was so courteous, respectful of my property, clearly explaining all the different stages of work so I was aware and completed the job professionally and on the day as planned. I would like to thank James for his excellent work and would recommend Davis & Gold for their services to anybody.

Following a Smart meter installation for another flat in my building, which involved turning off all the electricity, my boiler stopped working. I realised this the next morning – Friday before a bank holiday – no hot water! I called Davis and Gold for help; engineer Andy came round within the hour and fixed the problem. For no charge because I'm a long-term client! I really can't recommend this company highly enough: friendly professional engineers, excellent work, very reasonable charges, and they've always gone the extra mile to help out in an emergency.

We've used Davis & Gold for a few years now, having annual boiler services and a few call outs, all of which have been carried out to the highest degree. Was advised a new boiler was necessary, and we only waited 1 week for the work to be done. Price very reasonable, service engineer carried out a great job, he was neat and tidy, very amenable and knowledgeable. Works were carried out to the quotation supplied. Gas safety certificate and warranty received within the week. All communications with the office speedy, polite and informative. We are very satisfied with the service provided and would have no hesitation in recommending Davis & Gold to others.

We have been a customer of Davis & Gold for the past 28 years. When our boiler system finally had to be replaced due to its age, out of several quotes, we chose Davis and Gold to do the work for us and at our request, we decided that the best course of action was to replace our old system with an entirely new one. They gave us plenty of choice and options for us to make a decision. They were very professional, approachable, patient and clear with quotes. All work was done to agreed schedules and budget and to a very high standard. All the engineers were punctual, efficient, professional, extremely hard working and got on with the job. Any problems we encountered were immediately addressed and resolved. Davis & Gold also organised aftercare eg warranties, guarantees, addressed ad hoc queries and explained the system to us directly. Overall, the office, management and their engineers went out of their way to assist and be helpful. We have no hesitation in highly recommending Davis & Gold to anyone.

I have used Davis and Gold for all my heating problems for more than 10 years and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Davis and Gold have been servicing boilers annually for us for the last ten years. Recently I have asked to replace two combi boilers in our house. From Estimate through to fitting this company has been reliable, skilled and courteous.

Our old gas boiler stopped working over the weekend of 13/14 April. I emailed Davis & Gold first thing on 15 April. An engineer came out within an hour or so, investigated and recommended replacement. This was started the same day and completed by the end of the following day in accordance with the agreed budget. The speed and quality of the service and work was fantastic. A full explanation was provided as to the working of the new appliance and all relevant guarantees and certificates have been obtained on our behalf and provided to us.

Unfortunately the boiler in my property bit the dust the week before moving day. So I had a new boiler fitted very last minute. The guys did the job quickly with minimum fuss and I was very grateful for their service. Obviously difficult for me to comment on the new boiler as I don't live with it but the service was great. Guarantee sorted for the new owners too.

D & G have been looking after our heating and hot water for many years and we have happily recommended them to many of our friends. They are always cheerful, polite and adaptable.

We were left stranded by the major boiler supplier leaving us with no heating or hot water. This company came over the same day and within less than a week fitted a new boiler. They were professional, efficient and all really nice people. I cannot thank them enough

Davis and Gold came to service my boiler and everything seemed fine till I got the invoice. The figure for VAT was much more than 20% and the total was even more than you'd get by adding this inflated figure to the initial cost. In all I was being overcharged £99. I rang the office and they said they'd send me a revised invoice, with barely an apology. The new invoice arrived without apology. I asked to have a conversation with someone at the company so that they could explain how these two mistakes had happened, but they refused to call me. If it were one mistake in their favour, then yes maybe that's a mistake. But two mistakes, both in their favour... And then they refused to call me to explain their process or reassure me. Shortly after, my boiler broke down. Davis and Gold sent out an engineer. He told me it couldn't be fixed and that I needed a new boiler which would cost about £3500. The office promptly sent me a quote for £3480+VAT. After my previous experience, and because this figure was so close to the "off the top of his head" figure of the engineer I asked them to break down the price for me (which they hadn't). The new quote showed the labour was going to cost £1750. When I queried this exorbitant cost, I was told it was a fixed price. My fear is that all these figures are made up. Another engineer fixed my boiler in under five minutes.

When I needed an assessment of the existing boiler and heating system in the flat I hoped to buy, I asked Davis & Gold to arrange an engineer’s report, and a quotation with options for remedial work. We had a further visit to confirm everything on exchange of contracts, and their team arrived a week after I moved in: they would have come sooner, but I needed time to draw breath. I now have exactly the boiler and thermostat I wanted, with new central heating and hot water systems attached to the mains, to replace the old boiler, radiators, and emersion heater. Experts in different aspects of the work turned up when needed for additional tasks: all were cheerful and helpful. An extra effort was made to order and return to install the particular thermostat I wanted. I was particularly impressed to come across two young apprentices learning the trade. The office staff have been helpful and prompt all the way through.

Davis and Gold: A great find! Professional, helpful, considerate and nice people to work with. I was dreading having our 45 year old radiators replaced, along with our 23 year old boiler. I was advised and helped along the way with very knowledgable, understanding and communicative staff and truly have no negative feelings about the job, the whole thing was excellent and will certainly always use this company for our annual service. We had a new boiler and hot water cylinder fitted. This involved removing 25 year old boiler and even older cylinder. It was a big job done during the recent very hot weather. The men worked so hard to get things up and running and were very considerate to have around.

I had a complicated job on a new valiant heat-only boiler, that numerous gas safe installers wouldn't do, Davis and Gold sent their valiant trained staff along to do the job because they are valiant trained, they were fully equipped to handle the job, I met the owner of the company initially who is hands-on, and was very impressed with him and every member of staff true professional, so lucky to come across them. I have used Davis & Gold a few times over the last month or so for different jobs relating to our heating/plumbing. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. They are prompt, knowledgeable, their engineers are charming, low key and efficient. Their quotes are reasonable and no-nonsense. No renegotiation just exactly what they quoted. A couple of things needed tweaking and they returned quickly, resolved them with no quibbles. 10/10 without hesitation.

Our old boiler had nearly stopped working and I contacted Davis and Gold on a recommendation from a neighbour. It was a good experience from the start, the telephone receptionist was kind and helpful, promising to divert the boss so he could come and look. He arrived 90 minutes later, discussed the work and options, promised his engineers were quiet and well trained and that they would always leave us with hot water. They started a few days later and were as good as the promise, we have a small kitchen and they had lots of kit but made sure we could always get to the kettle and that it was full. They were all delightful and amazingly hard working. They chose to wear masks even though we felt safe enough for them not to. They cleared up every day and did leave us with hot water. They took out old tanks and pipes, refitted woodwork and were very quiet indeed. They finished slightly early than expected and walked us through the new equipment slowly and carefully. They showed us exactly what they done in all the rooms and managed to fit in a power flush too. They took all the waste materials away with them and we were absolutely delighted at the work. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Have used this company twice now, once to install a new boiler, radiator and storage tank, and again to service the boiler. On each occasion I have been impressed by the standards of work and courtesy shown. I believe the guys are directly employed (no sub-contractors here) and and obviously take pride in representing a family owned business. I will use this company again in the future and on the basis of their previous work, can recommend them without reservation.

I was really impressed with the service from Davis & Gold. It was only a boiler service that I needed, but the engineer was very impressive - he arrived on time, was well presented, polite and explained very clearly the work he was going to carry out. He carried out the work very efficiently, was very clear in explaining the findings and was incredibly courteous. The cost of the service was very good value. In all a very good experience and I will certainly use Davis & Gold again.

Contacted Davies and Gold who regularly service our boiler after it cut out and failed to start. They promptly sent around an engineer to examine and diagnose the problem which was too expensive to repair. Two days following the initial visit they were able to fit a replacement boiler only a week before Christmas, it was also urgent due to the cold weather. The work was done well and according to the estimate I was given for the job. We were impressed by the very helpful manor of the engineer who did the work quickly and efficiently and with due consideration to social distancing.

I have used Davis and Gold for over 20 years. Today was the annual service for my central heating boiler - which they installed a few years ago. As always, the service, from the office staff to the engineer, was efficient, courteous and couldn't be faulted. Over the years, I have recommended them to friends and neighbours and will continue to do so. Thank you.

All my 12 central heating rads needed replacement. They had bespoke covers on them too. So I wasn't looking forward to the exercise. But the engineer workmen fathomed it all out and got on with it. I had a new area fitted with a radiator too. They made the three days painless. Davis & Gold are always knowledgeable, efficient and one can trust in their ability to do a good job. I have used them for around 10 years now and can highly recommend them.

The Engineer & his assistant arrived on time to install my new heating and water system, wearing the appropriate gloves & masks throughout. They were extremely polite, helpful, efficient, confident & aways mindful of the present circumstances. They had the necessary equipment to do the job over the four days as scheduled. They worked non -stop and completed the job on time. They were very tidy and cleared up afterwards removing all debris. Subsequent queries were dealt with immediately, providing excellent friendly after care.

On Thursday April 9th 2020, the day before the Easter weekend break, we discovered a problem with our boiler around lunchtime and were getting no hot water. Davis & Gold were contacted, as we've used them for many years to annually service our boiler, and we explained to them that, as we have a critical worker (NHS) living with us, hot water was essential. Within one hour James arrive on our doorstep, diagnosed the problem, and informed us that a new boiler was required. This was ordered immediately. The following morning, Good Friday, Jim & Dave arrived at 8.30am and worked for two hours to install the new boiler and by 11am we had hot water and heating restored. We are simply overwhelmed and amazed and the exemplary level of customer care, empathy and service that all of the staff at Davis & Gold have shown, They have all been absolutely brilliant and we are so grateful. We cannot recommend and praise Davis & Gold highly enough. A family founded and run business where everyone is professional and caring. Thank you
