Partner in Dee Cee Upholstery, Derek Caplen, became the youngest master Upholsterer in the UK at the tender age of 21, and by the age of 43 he had become the youngest Fellow of the Association of Master Upholsterers for his outstanding contribution in training young people, and dedication to the A.M.U. and Soft Furnishers.

Contacted Dee Cee about a leather sofa which is about 10 years old. Received a call back to arrange a visit for a free quote to carry out the works. Arrived as arranged, quote came through promptly at a fair price. Once we accepted the quote, we paid a deposit and the work was carried out really quickly. The job was to recover a seat and arm area on one end of a three seater recliner sofa. They came and de-built the sofa, took away the parts they required, carried out the repair and returned and rebuilt it. The job has been done to an excellent high standard as you would expect from a long standing company such as Dee Cee Upholstery.

We had to replace the leather fabric on our dining room table chairs which were split and worn. We did consider replacing the chairs but are so glad that we did not, Dee Cee Upholstery did an excellent job – seamless throughout, very helpful on the telephone responding to our first email enquiry, a wonderful range of fabrics. Very quick and efficient service; collection work completed and delivery. The quality of the work cannot be faulted and we have ended up with a far superior set of chairs both in comfort and quality than originally provided by the furniture retailer. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Once again Dee Cee Upholstery have performed another miracle! Eighteen months ago they rejuvenated two sixties armchairs and now they have done an amazing job on our settee giving us a very posh three piece suite. Even though they had a backlog of work due to Covid-19 the work was completed in just over a week. We can’t praise them highly enough for their top quality work, efficiency and friendliness. Wonderful company.

Excepted quotation for the arm rest to be stripped down and upgraded to a better quality foam. The Sofa seat; which was not straight forward stripped down with new materials, and upgraded foam for a firmer seat. This probably was one of those annoying small jobs ,but Dee Cee were more than up for the challenge, and happy to do the job. I was given the quotation which was more than expected, but in life you get what you pay for, and looking into the back ground of Dee Cee, felt it was money well spent. We collected my part Sofa today after being informed the work was complete and ready for collection. Absolutely spot on workmanship, and service, with, "Honesty", as the repair didn't take as long as first thought. The excepted quotation was then discounted accordingly... WOW....what a company...........You have saved me buying a new Sofa.... The other side to be done in the New year... Thank you. A very grateful Steve Matthews

Just had our 6 dining chair seats recovered, so we decided to get them “done” professionally, so knowing Dee Cee was local with parking available, I decided to visit them, from the time I entered the quaint shop I felt at ease, Mr Dee Cee was very friendly and helpful and seemed genuinely interested in making sure that what I chose was right for our particular chairs. The choice of material available was endless and the cost made very reasonable. The chairs were completed earlier that promised and when I collected them I was amazed at the quality and the difference a high class craftsman can make, well worth the visit and our chairs now look stunning. This is the fourth job undertaken by Derek and his team so this review speaks for itself! We have had two very old armchairs, a settee, leather chesterfield and now a sofa bed. All this furniture has been given a new lease of life and unrecognisable. You would think they had come straight from Harrods. Derek and his team are very helpful and friendly. Not forgetting Karen who painstakingly helped me choose the leather for the chesterfield. We only had to wait just over a week and courtesy chairs were offered if needed. We had 2 sofas 15 years old & they were a little tired in particular the material although we loved the style & size. Throughout the whole process, Derek & his team made it easy from going through fabrics to the end result. The workmanship far exceeded our expectations. We opted for firmer seat cushions & all new scatter backs. Our sofas are now unique & better than new. You need to remember that upholstery isn’t a cheaper option to buying new but what you get is far better in quality of padding, comfort & material & that will stay looking great for longer. Having looked at new sofas the quality isn’t there. We now have two beautifully unique pieces. I was originally recommended this company from a family member who had new arm covers made for her sofa & I have to say it’s the best decision I made going with Dee Cee, I will also be recommending them on.

I required upholstery foam to make extra cushions for my dinning room chairs. Karen was very helpful and patient in enabling me to choose the depth of foam required and her colleague was meticulous in creating a template for the carvers, a particularly difficult task due to the placement of the arm supports. The finished articles were completed on the date specified and were well executed. The service was professional, yet friendly. I would clarify my comment on value to say that I did not seek alternative quotes but can confirm that I was happy with the cost.
