We wanted to replace the failing uPVC windows in our 1930s semi with timber-effect windows that would be more in keeping with the style and age of the house, as well as replace our uPVC front door with a composite one. Our searches led us to Derwent Windows and a trip to their showroom in Ripley, where we were provided with all the information we needed without any pressure selling. From the very beginning, everything was highly professional, from the quotation and initial careful measuring to the responsive, comprehensive emails and deposit protection, which really gave us confidence. We asked for changes to the original drawings, which were amended without any issue, and we also commissioned a small stained-glass window, the process for which was very smooth and resulted in a beautiful piece that makes me smile each time I walk past it! The fitters were fantastic, working long hours to install 8 windows and a composite front door with glazed arch surround in 3 days. They were friendly and courteous, and they took care to cover everything and tidy up afterwards. Shortly after installation, when we realised water was pooling under our door after heavy rain, they arranged for someone to come out and take a look, fixing the issue by adding in drainage holes (that should have been pre-drilled during manufacture), and they have said to call them if we experience any other issues with the door or windows in the future. I cannot recommend Derwent Windows highly enough.

We had four new external doors fitted. Derwent Windows staff were extremely helpful and professional at all stages of the process, from initial conversations in the showroom to the excellent work done by the two installers, and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

It took me quite a time to decide whether to replace my existing timber french door and window with timber or UPVC. As it is a 1920's property I needed something to match with my existing leaded glass doors and windows. After visiting the showroom, where I was dealt with by a very knowledgeable member of staff who took me through all the options, including encapsulated glass and following the site visit again by a very knowledgeable person I decided on UPVC. Using my existing leaded glass was not going to be practicable but I felt all options had been explored. The fitter did a fabulous job with great attention to detail and I am delighted with the results. The window and door match perfectly with my existing windows and doors.

We had our sash windows replaced recently. The whole process was straightforward with very friendly and helpful staff. The window fitting was expertly done with minimal disruption and to a very high standard.

When we wished to renew our back door we decided to visit the Ripley Showroom. We were given a friendly welcome and with the assistance of a member of staff, we had soon made our choice of new door. The survey on our site was carried out efficiently with the member of staff able to answer all queries. Callum fitted the door on the arranged date and made a brilliant job of it, which we are delighted with. His attention to detail, precision in the finished fitting were excellent. We would certainly use Derwent Windows in the future and will recommend the business to our friends.

Although I had to wait a couple of months before my window was replaced, which was inconvenient for me, when I did receive the instalment date, the worker arrived on time and completed the job within the time they said it would take. The worker was helpful and polite and did not leave any mess. I was pleased with the end result.

I had every window replaced, and a new front door. Every person I dealt with was pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable. The men who did the work were wonderful. They took great care with everything and cleaned up after themselves. The windows and door are beautiful, excellent quality. I have no problem with recommending this company to anyone.

What a fantastic process we went through from our initial visit to the showroom to the final instalment of our landing window. The transformation of an old 1930s stain glass window placed into a new double glazed unit is brilliant. It was beautifully cleaned and now it sparkles and shines; the rotten timber frame has been replaced and painted in a colour of our own choice. Everything was done to a very high standard. We are very pleased with Derwent Windows and the service they provided throughout. From an initial visit to their showroom, to the quote, us amending the quote (over a lengthy period), and confirming the order, was all efficiently handled with appropriate paperwork so it was clear what we were getting. We had four wooden bay windows replaced with wood effect UPVC - two upstairs and two downstairs, including leaded glass encapsulation on one of the windows. The fitting was done quickly and efficiently, with considerate, friendly fitters who cleaned up after themselves and minimised the disruption. We had 16 windows replaced in our old Farmhouse… not easy feet as everything is on the “wonk”. From the initial call, to Emily’s site visit, the visit from the surveyor, trips to the show room and the two fitters we would not have one grumble. Everyone was lovely and helpful. Couldn’t fault them. The fitters attended and worked so hard every day in the freezing cold without a complaint about how much of a tricky fit our windows were. I am starting to replace double glazing that was installed 25 years ago and, after visiting their showroom, I decided to employ Derwent Windows. I could not have made a better choice. The showroom staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Callum, the installer, was extremely careful and did an excellent job. I would not hesitate to recommend Derwent Windows and hope to use their services again in the near future.

From start to finish Derwent windows provided excellent service - we could not fault them. We had 9 replacement windows fitted in an old cottage, including some brickwork to replace an old wooden panel. The sales team were very helpful in helping us choose the right windows, handles and replacement reclaimed bricks for our property. We were kept well informed of the timescale. The friendly, polite fitting team worked incredibly hard, and never once complained about the fact that our drive was too narrow for their vans so had to barrow everything several hundred yards to and from the house. Everything was left clean and tidy and we are delighted with our new windows.

We have had a patio door installed by DERWENT Windows and are extremely pleased with their service from beginning to end. All the initial paperwork and discussions were completely straightforward and efficient. On the day of installation the two fitters arrived promptly and commenced their work. We had 2 sets of wooden doors installed. The doors are of a high quality and heave been installed very well. The old doors were taken away and there was no mess left behind. The installers were very courteous and respectful of our property. I would definitely recommend Derwent Windows.

Have used them before and been thoroughly satisfied with their work. This time it was my bathroom window and back bedroom window. Everything went very smoothly and professionally but with a friendly manner from the surveying and measuring of the windows, to their efficient office folk in communicating with me, to the installation by their experienced fitters. Really pleased with the final results and would definitely recommend them highly.

The service was excellent from the start. Highly efficient process from initial inquiry to completion of installation. Product very good quality but what was exceptional was the installation. The two guys who came were highly professional, caring and accommodating. They did an exceptional job and would recommend them to anyone.

We had 17 of our windows replaced using Derwent uPVC double glazed panes and 16 panes encapsulating stained glass windows. The windows we are delighted with, and we were very happy with the installation team who were on site for 2 weeks. Derwent were responsive to our concerns re dust and disruption and covered all furniture well. We had up to 5 installers on site at any one time; they were always courteous and respectful of working in our home. All in all, we have been extremely happy with the windows and the job done to install them. Highly recommended. After care so far is good, and any minor issues we have had have been resolved without hassle.

After experiencing a poorly fitting upvc front door for a number of years we decided to bite the bullet and do the job properly. From visiting the showroom at Trent Bridge and meeting the lovely staff there, through the assessment visit, then fitting, then final tidying, and including communications with the main office staff, the process has been a revelation. We are so used to being slightly disappointed with things to do with houses and building, that the experience we have had has surprised us. First of all, the quality of the door, first rate, and so it should be for the price, but the skill of the fitting of the curved frame in a 250 year old house that has been bashed about over the years was remarkable. Secondly, they really knew what they were doing, both at design stage, manufacture and fitting, as we were worried that the delicate external render was not damaged. This was achieved effortlessly. The final fitting to make good skirting was also excellent and had to include them ordering a unique profile. To sum up, if you appreciate the best, both in product and service, and realise that these values need to be properly paid for, then contact Derwent.

We live in an old Coach House in the High Peak and needed to replace some old single glazed windows, choosing a mixture of timber look (uPVC) and wood. Derwent were recommended by our neighbour, we had 3 quotes, all similar but Derwent gave the best honest advice in their showroom and weren’t pushy. Andrew was also really pleasant and helpful when they came round to check measurements and finalise details. Fitting was arranged at a convenient time and changed with no problem when we booked a holiday. The fitters Ian and Mark arrived on time, it didn’t start well, they said they would probably not be able to fit one of the windows and have difficulty fitting the other 2, this may have been why these windows were original and had never been replaced. They did figure out a solution and worked hard all day to finish the job and were both really nice guys. The windows are excellent quality and look fantastic in place. Although we chose a slightly more expensive wooden window at the front to closer match existing, the uPVC ones are almost identical. Ian and Mark were fastidiously tidy and despite the challenges of removing and replacing the windows there was no damage to the interior or exterior of the property. If at sometime in the future we replace the other windows we would definitely use Derwent.

Having used Derwent Windows for a number of projects last year we had no hesitation in using them to replace our old windows with new UPVC sash windows. From the initial surveying, quotation and planning stage through to the fitting of the windows we found the staff to be very professional. We were especially with the care and attention to detail of the wooden architrave finishing to the windows, not straight forward in an older house. The team from Derwent were on-site as planned, they completed the work on schedule and to a high standard both inside and out. Where some restoration work was required they completed this to a high standard and dealt with any unexpected issues that cropped up.

Derwent windows fitted bi-folding aluminium doors to our dining room, removing an old conservatory first. Their service was always highly professional, very friendly, and responsive and helpful when I had specific questions. Andy who came out to assess the work needed was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The three men who fitted the windows - Ben, Mark and Ian - showed considerable attention to detail to get the fit right (given how uneven our Victorian house walls are). The few jobs that needed doing after the windows were fitted were all done promptly. I am delighted with the look and function of the windows and would use Derwent Windows again without hesitation. The quality of their service and aftercare makes them good value for money.

The work was done on the agreed date - helpful, pleasant workers. Needed to arrange a further visit to fill the remaining gap between the frame and masonry. This was completed and our job satisfaction was checked before the final payment was requested.
