Double Glazing Doctor

We have used Nigel for several years to deal with small double glazing problems around our house but he has recently completed a large job replacing over 20 'blown' units of glass and other repair work to our windows. The quality of service is second to none and I would have no hesitation in recommending Nigel to anyone. It's a no-brainer in my opinion.

We have used Nigel many times over the years to replace blown windows and replace broken locks etc. We wouldn’t use anyone else. Always friendly, aims to deliver a first rate service and works in a tidy manner. He really knows his job! Would definitely recommend.

Nigel has undertaken work on our windows for several years, primarily to replace blown glazing units that are twenty five years old. In addition, he has replaced many of the handles and solved windows that have dropped and won't operate properly. His work is always excellent and he takes pride in the quality. If he notices a slight blemish ( that most of us would not) he will order a replacement pane. He is extremely friendly and supportive and timely in carrying out the work. I would not hesitate to recommend him for the quality of his work.

I had some double-glazing units in our kitchen including two full-length patio doors which had failed and were fogging up - they were over 20 years old. I saw the reviews of Nigel's service here on Which and called to ask him to take a look. He came round promptly and explained what would need to be done, produced a quote shortly afterwards and provided a delivery/fitting date. All went to plan and Nigel turned up with the new panels on the promised date. He also noticed that our patio doors needed adjusting so he just did that as part of the service, and also fitted a door restrictor which had failed at some time in the past. I can heartily recommend Nigel. He's a friendly open person who is happy to discuss the details of your requirements. He is reliable and the service was great value for money. Top marks.

Some of my existing double glazed units were 'fogged up' and needed replacing. As a Which? member I turned to Which? Trusted Traders and read the excellent reviews for Nigel (Double Glazing Doctor). I contacted him for a quote. He arrived at the promised time and provided a quote which I accepted. The work was completed cleanly, without any mess and to the schedule/price agreed. Nigel is a professional who is very helpful, patient and friendly. I would have no hesitation in using him again and would highly recommend him.

Nigel replaced all of our window panes and handles over a period of a couple of days during the rain and super cold weather. Nigel is the best, super friendly and very accommodating. Our house is now cosy and warm compared to before, he fixed the windows that were broken as well as touching up the pane in my daughter's room, he also pointed out that our front door handle needed replacing as well, he is very attentive and very friendly. We loved having Nigel in our house and he loves a good coffee too. Thanks again Nigel, hopefully, we will see you soon.

Nigel was superb. He repaired two windows and also our front door. He replaced three hinges and altered the door so it closes properly. Very nice man as well.

Prior to contacting Nigel about replacing all my old glazing panels. I was a little concerned it might damage the original frames. After seeing Nigel he assured me it could be done neatly and cleanly. Well he has done an excellent job, no marks on the frames at all. I can highly recommend Nigel. A very nice guy, a wonderful job and the price was right.

I contacted Nigel about 2 windows which would not shut properly and one window which was jammed partly open. Arrangements were made for him to view the problem and he arrived on time. He took the time to explain the problem and how he would resolve it and then immediately fixed all three problems with spares that he carried in his vehicle. All resolved in a single visit. Nigel has been fantastic from start to finish. He visited initially to measure up and to price up the job. He saved me thousands of pounds rejuvenating rather than replacing. Not only a better deal for me but also for the environment. On completion his price was as he had quoted and he left me feeling that I had made the right choice using his services. Good communication, clearly knows everything there is to know about double glazing, clean and tidy, and a genuinely nice man. I will use him again should I ever need my windows servicing or repairing or replacing. He gets five Stars from me.

Nigel came to see the job and I agreed the price as I felt this was reasonable. I had five blown windows replaced and a patio door adjusted and fixed so I could lock it more easily. We had to wait a few weeks for the replacement glass but it's made such a difference. Nigel is a really nice guy and he was clean and tidy. Turned up on time too which is unusual nowadays. I reached out to Nigel when one of our upstairs windows had come off its hinges on one side and was barely hanging on. Within 2 hours he was round and secured it in place, without charging me, and ordered the replacement part. He gave me a very reasonable quote to come and fit it, and was round within the week to fix the problem. Not only did he fix the issue without charging the world, he came right away to solve a really tricky situation when otherwise we'd have been in the lurch. Would recommend Nigel to anyone, and will definitely be using him again in future.

Nigel came & helped to resolve a leak above a window & also a faulty window lock, on a window which we hadn’t been able to open for a couple of years! Nigel did a fantastic job, sorted everything he said he would, left the place tidy & is just a very decent guy. He also sent me a video of the hole he filled above the window & an alternative plan if this doesn’t fix it (it’s been an ongoing problem) which is much appreciated. Nigel is absolutely amazing. If your windows are broken, draughty or need fixing he's your man. We thought it would be a good idea fitting those draught seals on our windows only when we closed the windows the handle mechanism snapped and window wouldn't open. One person said they couldn't be fixed and quoted over £900 for one normal size front window and one really tiny window. Nigel came over and said he can fix them no problem. His quote blew the other guy out of the water. More than a third cheaper. Not only does Nigel know what he's doing he's trustworthy, honest, on time and a lovely fella. We really struggle to trust tradesmen but Nigel restored our faith. About to book him for more work.

They identified the problem with two of my windows. He replaced the hinges and handles, and sealed a small area where rainwater was seeping indoors. I now have a warm bathroom with no draughts, and I can finally sleep at night with the noise reduction in the bedroom. The windowsills remain dry! I would highly recommend their work. He was efficient, safe during Covid, considerate and a reasonable cost.

Nigel responded timely to any queries and provided a prompt and professional service. He replaced four window panes in my lounge, and did a very high quality job. After the installation Nigel identified a small scratch on one of the panes and immediately arranged for a replacement to be ordered. I feel the overall service was fantastic and we got excellent value for money. We are really happy with the service provided. We ordered 5 windows one of which had a catflap installed in it. Communcation was great from the off and the installation was on time. Nigel is a pleasure to deal with and a highly recommend him for all your double glazing needs.
