Doug Farleigh and his team designed and managed the build of a new kitchen. Everything was seamless from start to finish. Every member of the team was excellent - on the design side from Doug and Cathy who listened carefully to what we wanted and came up with a great design that really worked for us, Harriet on scheduling and sourcing of white goods and Rowan who was an ace kitchen installer. Doug also kept oversight over the whole process and communication was excellent. We are thrilled with our kitchen and it includes details which we would not have thought of ourselves, but which we now would not want to be without. We cannot recommend Doug and his team highly enough.

Doug Farleigh and his team were absolutely fantastic from the very beginning of our project right through to the end. They were a calm, confident presence, and always ready to answer any questions we had. Cathy's designs were superb and every detail was thought through. They offer great value for the high quality of their workmanship and I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

Doug and his skilled team redesigned our kitchen, utility and downstairs bathroom. This was very complicated and included having a new floor and underfloor heating put in. They moved the sink and dishwasher areas too and supported us with a temporary kitchen: there was some unexpected pipe work that needed hiding and came up with some nice cladding that actually really made the kitchen come together. Doug and the team were great with communication, and giving us solutions to unexpected challenges. His team also organised the whole team so that everyone knew where they needed to be when. The whole project took about eight weeks. They were a delight to have in the house.

An excellent company. The work involved creating a new kitchen whilst retaining some of the older Victorian features such as original cupboards, dresser, and fireplace. The end result looks fantastic; the new kitchen is crisp and light with plenty of worktop space and clever storage solutions. Their attention to detail, knowledge of all aspects of kitchen design and commitment to quality were faultless. From initial visit, through to completion, communication and project management were excellent with all queries answered quickly. This extended to their team of trades who turned up on time and delivered high quality results.

We chose Doug Farleigh from a long list of quotes because we felt that they showed all of the qualities we were looking for: professionalism, organisation, creativity in design, communication, scheduling and customer care. We were not disappointed. Our house is a 17th century cottage and has all of the delights and problems which come with that. We wanted a modern, light, kitchen which also maintained the character of the cottage. The initial design showed a complete understanding of that and then a willingness to listen and work with us to tweak it a bit to get exactly what we wanted. They worked with us and managed to fit in the work for a period when we were away from home to minimise disturbance. During the work, they kept us informed at all stages of the progress. The workmen - carpenter, electrician, plumber, decorator and tiler were all first class craftsman and very polite and pleasant people. Doug Farleigh himself took a personal interest and a professional pride in the work. He came and visited us several times before the work started, went with us to the worktop suppliers to advise on our choice and ensured that all the work was done to a high standard and that we were satisfied with all aspects before sending the final invoice. Kathy, the designer and Harriet, the office manager were both highly efficient and very skilled. We have a wonderful kitchen which has answered all of our needs and in which we love to spend time.

Our builder recommended Doug Farleigh Kitchens and we weren’t disappointed. Very helpful with the design but always happy to accommodate our suggestions. The finished kitchen was exactly as the same as the virtual images we were shown and small changes we made during fitting were no problem. Overall we were very satisfied with the process from start to finish.

First class workmanship special mention for Harriet's in the office for her organising and communication skills. All the workman treated our home with complete respect and were all a pleasure to meet. The whole job ran smoothly and on schedule.No hesitation in recommending this company to anyone. We had met with a few kitchen specialists who were not quite the right fit for us. Doug is in a different league and we quickly recognised that we would enjoy working with him and his colleagues best. Doug has heaps of hands on experience and knew precisely how to deliver what we had in mind. Together with designer Cathy, they produced and tweaked a plan that matched the way we envisaged using the kitchen. They also patiently gave practical and considered feedback on variables, including authoritatively checking appliance dimensions to helpfully guide us. Harriet co-ordinated efficiently to prepare a brisk schedule: one that proved resilient. She is admirably pro-active and perceptive, with a can-do attitude. Doug has a number of skilled contacts willing at relatively short notice to carry out all manner of related work. We particularly enjoyed working with personable and conscientious glazer Dave. The kitchen project progressed at pace and it was grand to see the new kitchen emerge. Throughout, the team were communicative, with helpful reminders from Harriet of forthcoming activity. The end result is a transformation with which we are delighted. Crisply aligned, sleek cupboards and drawers, in a practical arrangement - with the usable work surface maximised. We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with Doug and colleagues - and are grateful to them for sharing their skills and knowledge.

Incredibly impressed from the initial consultation, through to the customer service, installation and quality of the units and worktop. All works were completed with the utmost professionalism. I've heard some horror stories from friends having issues with their own kitchen installs. The fact ours was completed without a single hitch is a testament to Doug and his team. We looked at Magnet, Wickes, Howdens and Wren and just by chance discovered Doug Farley. In Newton Abbot he was local and responded to our enquiry really quickly and accommodated our requirements without any problem. Cathy produced some fantastic designs which were very impressive. Throughout the whole process Doug remained involved, and together with his team delivered an amazing result. He has assembled a first class team covering Electrics, plumbing, plastering, decorating, surfacing and fitting. All the team turned up on time, were courteous, efficient and thorough. They worked well together and Harriet his office coordinator delicately cajoled the team and the timetable, Doug ensured that the standards were maintained across the piece. The project is not the cheapest, but, we feel it has been excellent value for money and certainly cheaper than the two big suppliers. We are delighted with the results and know that should we experience teething problems, we have the ongoing full support of Doug and his team.

We first saw Doug’s work at a neighbour’s apartment and were so impressed: it made me lust for something similar! At every stage of the 5 week project we were well supported. We had a schedule and it all ran on time. Sufficient time had been built in for overruns but there were none. The tradesmen were all excellent. Communication was first class. Any queries we had were dealt with within hours, if not minutes. I think where I particularly valued Doug was the way he helped me through decisions. I am not good at visualising how something will look and this was a big spend for us so I felt it was important to end up with something that enhanced my home and my life. I need not have feared. Without making me feel as if he was trying to sell me anything, he talked me through options and advised on layout. He gently steered me towards a colour which I doubt I would have chosen but I love the result and he was right, it does look great. The brief was to optimise the space and make it easier for me to enjoy my kitchen as I love to cook. I am quite simply delighted with my new kitchen and have no reservations in recommending Doug Farleigh.

Doug Farleigh helped us remodel and design our wonderful new kitchen. His team of tradesmen are all expert in their profession, with exceptional skill sets. Despite some delivery setbacks including irreplaceable breakage to some floor tiles they all worked well together - electricians, plumbers, fitters, tilers and decorators. Kitchen was left neat and tidy at the end of each day no matter what stage of the build. We’d be happy to have any of them work for us again.

I found this company online and had no prior knowledge of them but from the first time I spoke to Doug until the all the work was completed it has been a great experience. Doug is very knowledgeable and provided some great ideas and tips for making the most of the new kitchen. All the people involved have been professional and friendly creating a sense of trust which is so important for such a personal room as the kitchen. Firstly from the first design Doug did for my kitchen and all my needs was perfect, so nothing needed changing!! And from the very beginning to the end the workmanship and skill used was first class. The carpenters were punctual and keeping in touch always, And excellent in every aspect!! And also caring passionately about there finished work. The service from the company was unfailingly professional, helpful and courteous. We very much appreciated Doug’s clever design and advice on layout, as well as Jayne’s patience helping us choose suitable appliances. The installation was very well organised and co-ordinated. All the contractors were helpful and considerate and their work of a very high standard. We have a new kitchen which looks good and is a great pleasure to use. The inevitable upheaval was well worth it.

Doug Farleigh Kitchens is a top-class outfit – superlative in every respect. Husband and wife partnership Doug and Jayne employ only the most highly skilled professionals and provide a service second to none in their unstinting pursuit of perfection. I don’t have my own transport, and so Doug and Jayne very kindly took it upon themselves to drive me round to look at work surfaces, tiles, etc. whenever required; nothing has ever been too much trouble for them. The optimisation of the available space has been sensational; my kitchen is only moderate in size at best but is now Tardis-like in terms of its work surface area and storage space – without appearing remotely cluttered. Perfection has duly been achieved in respect of both functionality and aesthetics – all delivered on schedule, and well within budget. I am immensely grateful to all concerned for their creativity, expert advice, craftsmanship, and extraordinary dedication.

I couldn't recommend Doug Farleigh Kitchens highly enough. From Doug's excellent designs and expertise to his team of electricians,plumbers and plasterers they have all been professional, organized and tidy. Paul Harvey who prepared and fitted the kitchen and utility room was exceptional. His attention to detail, adaptability and calm professionalism were second to none. His ethos is to keep the customer happy. The project came in on time and budget and more importantly we are delighted with the end result.

From the very beginning Jayne and Doug were total professionals and their approach immediately reassured us that we had made the right decision to use them for our new kitchen. The initial meeting with Jayne gave us the opportunity to say what we hoped to get out of the kitchen and what we did and didn't want. It also let us explain that we were trying to bring what we had up to date and gain some more valuable space. The resulting plans met nearly everything we wanted and a couple slight adjustments were all that was needed. This again gave us the reassurance that they knew exactly what they were doing and listen to what is wanted From that point forward they organised everything from the plasterer who made an excellent job of the walls and ceiling to the cabinet fitter, flooring expert, plumber, decorator and electricians who were all really helpful and we can see why Doug uses them all. This was so valuable and saved us the time and worry of doing it. The appliances were ordered and arrived on time at a very good price and were fitted along with everything else. Any time we had the slightest query either Jayne or Doug answered it or came on site to see for themselves. The final product is excellent with many well thought out ideas for space and time saving. All the work is of the highest standard by a team of perfectionists. What more could we have asked for - we are very proud of what we now have and delighted that we chose Doug Farleigh Kitchens for the job.

Having been highly recommended by a friend we contacted Doug Farleigh Kitchens with a view to Designing a New Kitchen and completing Structural Work to extend into an adjoining room. From the outset Doug was totally Professional Project Managing all aspects from Initial Design ideas on to a Work Schedule for all of his team of workmen. The work was completed exactly as indicated within his schedule. We are Extremely Happy with the Quality of the Kitchen and end result overall. We certainly Highly Recommend Doug Farleigh and his team.

We can highly recommend Doug Farleigh Kitchens. The whole process was excellent. Jayne was very friendly and gave really good advice on layout and appliances. We had a fairly small kitchen space to work with, including low ceilings and no straight walls so making the most of every inch was really important. Jayne was able to provide really good images so we could visual the proposed layout. We were not made to feel rushed and we did change our minds on colour and layout a couple of times until we felt we had got it right - Jayne was so helpful providing new images for us and samples. Tom fitted our kitchen and I cannot praise his workmanship enough. He was extremely professional and a pleasure to be around for the two weeks that it took to fit the kitchen- the scribing of the end panels to our wonky walls is incredible! The attention to detail from the first design to the installation has given us a kitchen that not only looks amazing but also works perfectly for us. We will definitely recommend Doug Farleigh Kitchens to our friends.

From start to finish Doug and Jayne were fantastic! They helped design our perfect kitchen to fit our life style and we absolutely love it! Jayne even recommended that we lowered our window opening since our builders made it too high! We are SO glad that we did. I contacted Doug on the 22nd of May 2020 to ask if he could help source a kitchen cupboard door for an existing kitchen in the house I purchased. Doug responded via email the same day. He also spent time over the next four days trying to source, what was a needle in an haystack task. Throughout the four days Doug was pleasant, professional and most helpful. The main reason I wanted to write this review is that I found Doug to be the most helpful trader I have ever dealt with. Other kitchen services I contacted prior didn`t want to know, or tried to sell me one of their kitchens. Doug was interested in meeting what I wanted. I find this so refreshing. Doug`s customer service is second to none.

We can highly recommend Doug Farleigh Kitchens. Cutting-edge electronic realisations were expertly brought to fruition and the new kitchen is everything we imagined — and more. We are grateful to Doug for his craftsmanship and attention to detail.

From start to finish, we knew we could trust and rely on Doug to do a great job. He was very patient with us in designing the kitchen and it was amazing to get mock ups from Jane of what could work. He gave us lots of his time through calls and emails in slowly deciding on all the different elements of the kitchen. We were very nervous about wasting money/getting it wrong but his knowledge and professionalism reassured us. He also gave his expert input and guided us away from so any poor choices so we didn't put design over functionality. He offered us his recommended team of other professionals (plumber, electrician and plasterer) which made us feel much happier that everyone would work well together. They were also excellent. Now we've had the kitchen for a year, the finished results are amazing and we're really happy with our kitchen. It was expensive but the design makes the maximum use of the space without feeling crowded and all the fixtures and fittings feel such high quality and well fitted that we know it will last for many years.

We had obtained a couple of quotes from other companies before meeting Doug but we knew from the first time we met Doug that he was the one we wanted to design and install our kitchen. During each meeting we had with Doug during the process he took time to explain and answer any questions that we had, to go through the designs and change where necessary. He took as much time as we needed to discuss the process and the work involved. Doug’s expertise, experience and workmanship was excellent throughout. For example, none of our walls were straight but Doug took the time needed to ensure that the kitchen fitted perfectly. Doug’s attention to detail is second to none. He was able to advise where certain appliances should go and had the vision that we needed. In particular we feel that we benefited immensely from the fact that Doug was designing the kitchen as well as fitting the kitchen and therefore he could see how the actual design would work in the kitchen space. He advised what type of kitchen would be suitable for us, our finished kitchen is beautiful and of a very high quality. Doug was helpful at every turn and his communication was excellent throughout. If you choose to use Doug Farleigh Kitchens you will be in very safe hands. From the initial enquiry stage through to completion, Jayne and Doug Farleigh's approach is highly professional. They listen carefully to your requirements (and dreams!) and do their absolute utmost to realise them for you. During the fitting stage, Doug's resilience to unforeseen challenges and attention to detail was superb. Jayne's support at the early design stage and with the choice, selection and purchase of white goods was absolutely invaluable. Nothing was too much trouble. In addition, and very importantly, all the trades people with whom they worked were great too. Each was professional, cheerful and very considerate, treating us and our home with great respect. Put together, all these things minimised the stress that such a project can bring. The completed kitchen is beautiful. The room is a joy to be in and has already been much admired. It is a clever blend of modern and traditional which we feel sits very comfortably in it's late Victorian setting. We think that the total cost of the kitchen was very reasonable, especially given it's very bespoke nature. The actual cost compares very favourably with that being quoted by high street names for a much less bespoke approach. We would not hesitate to recommend Doug Farleigh Kitchens to others.

Having had several kitchen fitters quote for the business, we were disappointed with the way with the way “no one was listening to our requirements” However from the moment we met Jayne of Doug Farleigh Kitchens this changed, not only did she listen, she also took the time to share some of her idea’s and make no false promises, quote and 3D drawings were completed on time By working from home it felt like they were able to offer a higher quality product because there was no middle man, our kitchen is top quality fitted by Doug himself, willing to work the extra hour to make sure the kitchen was fitted to the highest standard, strongly recommend their busy, in fact mother in law having her’s refitted by them this month

We used Doug to design and install a large kitchen and appliances. The work was extensive, including structural work, with the aim of making an awkward L-shaped kitchen nice to use and to "flow" into the rest of a larger open plan space. We looked at a number of different approaches to having the kitchen installed: self design; builder installed; other kitchen companies; and high end bespoke handmade kitchens. From all these approaches, on first meeting, it was clear the Doug had the best understanding of what we were trying to achieve. In addition to our ideas, Doug used his experience and eye for design to produce a really excellent layout. We had a design using the same doors that was prepared by a larger and better known local kitchen company: it would have cost as much but basically not achieved our goals at all as there was no design acumen in how it was prepared. Doug's workmanship and attention to detail is exceptional. Every tradesman who knows Doug comments on his attention to detail and high standards, with the "Doug Farleigh standard" being referred to by several of them repeatedly (i.e. done right!) Doug is always responsive to questions from you as a customer, or from other trades. There were no unexpected extras on the bill. Since finishing the job there have been 2 minor problems (with a tap and a worktop join). Doug has resolved both with faultless efficiently and his usual friendly approach. Could not more highly recommend.

Really nice people to deal with. Design work was innovative and on a completely different level to the other kitchen companies we had approached. Many revisions and nothing was too much trouble. If you want a company that thinks critically about your kitchen design and not someone that plonks a load of cabinets in an obvious pattern around your room the Doug and Jayne are the people for you. Doug's install was O.C.D spot on. Most tradespeople these days are just after the money once you've allocated them the contract: Doug is all about the job. Cant recommend them highly enough.

We are delighted with our new kitchen, completed a month ago. Doug's initial design was spot-on and the finished kitchen looks exactly like his computer projection. He offered advice based on our lifestyle and preferences whilst respecting our budget. Having lived with it for a few weeks, we appreciate the helpful innovations, beautiful lines, extremely practical layout and brilliant use of space. Everything was fitted by Doug personally and his team of supporting tradesmen operated to the same meticulous standard of workmanship. Doug has provided us with a superb, value-for-money, craftsman-fitted kitchen which has already been much admired. "Stunning" is the word everyone uses.

This was a slightly different project, not a completely new kitchen but replacing Formica worktops with granite. We started off visiting granite suppliers but quickly learned that they would measure up, supply and fit the granite worktops but not all the associated tasks. These included removing and disposing the old worktops, preparing everything for the new worktops such as removing electric hob and sink, installing support for new under fitted sink and plumbing and electrical work after the worktops were fitted. We realised we needed a kitchen person to do the job and coordinate the other tradesmen for the plumbing and electrical work. We found Doug on the internet and what a find. He did a brilliant job and project managed the whole thing. Problems were overcome as they were encountered including repositioning one of the floor units and moving an integrated washing machine from one side of the kitchen to the other. Doug was totally reliable and a perfectionist, fine tuning cabinet doors and plinths once the worktop was installed. I would totally recommend and if you need a new kitchen or, like us, modifications to an existing one, you would be hard pressed to find a better company for the job.

I have deliberately left it a while to leave a review as sometimes living with your new kitchen and with hindsight you sometimes wish you might have done something slightly different with your new kitchen..... This has not happened with our kitchen from Doug & Jayne. The service they provide is outstanding their experience shines through during the design phase helping you think of things you haven't thought of. The quality of the units is brilliant and the level to which they help you make it right for you is fantastic. We have special dog food cupboards that take big dog food sacks but still look really nice as well as a beer cupboard! Doug helps you make the most of every mm of space you have and during installation goes the extra mile to make sure you can fit in whatever you need and it works for you. Our boiler is in the kitchen and Doug adjusted things so we can fit our ironing board, mops and hoover wand etc down the side as well as fitting shelving to enable Dyson charging etc. Small things that make a big difference! 18 months on there isn't a thing we would change and as this is the 3rd kitchen we have put in a property I can honestly say this wasn't the case for the previous 2 who were supplied by other well known large companies. The attention to detail and completely personalised bespoke service from design to post installation from Doug and Jayne is what makes all the difference. If you want a kitchen you'll love call them!

We have recently had the pleasure of having our kitchen installed by Doug & Jayne Farleigh. The prospect of a few weeks without your kitchen is a daunting one, to say that we’ve been pleasantly surprised would be a huge understatement. The project has been a fantastic success from design through to completion. There are so many positive things to said about the work; in a word: ‘Craftsmanship’ It’s hard to imagine how a better job could have been done; if you are looking for a professionally installed kitchen from a specialist with incredible attention to detail speak to Doug Farleigh.

Doug was brilliant at all aspects of the kitchen design and installation. It was a great relief to have someone totally reliable to project manage every aspect. His workmanship is faultless.

We were about to go with a well-known kitchen company, but then had a chat with Doug - who gave us a cheaper quote (than the company's apparently massively discounted quote), for better quality units, and an improved design. We have had the pleasure of Jayne and Doug’s work for two of our homes in both kitchen and utility areas. 3D drawings of various layouts were presented for us to choose. Jayne then patiently helped me choose through the huge array of styles of kitchen door, work surfaces, appliances and inserts for the cupboards and drawers. Doug then fitted with speed and precision! I love my fitted pantry cupboards which were made especially to fit the space and recessed for a seemless finish! Also the placement of cutlery, plates, cups next to the dishwasher,sink and bins, half the time spent on the boaring kitchen jobs. Doug’s recommendation for a decorator finished the project to create the kitchen of our dreams! Always gets a wow factor from friends and family!

Brilliant service from Doug and Jayne, we cannot recommend them highly enough. We have a very compact kitchen but they really made the most of every space, maximizing storage and giving us some great advice regarding options. They were happy to print and amend the designs and double checked we were happy with every detail before ordering. The quality of the kitchen is superb. Dougs workmanship is first class, with maximum attention to every tiny detail. Jayne was fantastic in organizing and coordinating the other trades to tie in perfectly with the installation. We are so happy with our brilliant beautiful and practical new kitchen, I cannot thank them enough. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

When we first approached Doug, we had already received a design for our kitchen which we were happy to continue with. But when Doug reviewed the space, he came up with an even better design that utilised the space perfectly. From start to finish, the process was really smooth, with fast delivery and constant guidance along the way. Despite the hour or so drive each way, Doug Farleigh, visited site several times before installation commenced and met us at suppliers to discuss and evolve the design rather than impose an early proposal. Myself not being a natural at interior design Doug's suggestions were very welcome. Good project management brought in competent and efficient tradesmen when required (actually turning up on schedule). I am very pleased with the end result which has received admiring comments from visiting friends and family. No hesitation to recommend.
